Azzurro e verde. Terra e mare. Che
si rincorrono e si abbracciano in un
territorio unico e pianeggiante da
scoprire dolcemente. Su due ruote
o in barca, per lasciarsi cullare dai
profumi e dai richiami degli uccelli
mentre lo sguardo corre all’orizzonte.
Un sottile equilibrio tra uomo e
natura distingue il Parco del Delta
del Po che, inserito nel Patrimonio
UNESCO dal 1999, protegge 53.600
ettari che tutelano la foce del Grande
iume, zone umide e aree boscose
questi itinerari.
Opere di ingegneria idraulica e
antichi ediici testimoniano una storia
millenaria; le torri del Castello Estense
di Mesola, il romanico dell’Abbazia
di Pomposa o le strutture idrauliche
dalla Grande Boniica Estense: Torre
Abate, la Chiavica dell’Agrifoglio,
Torre Palù e Torre della Finanza.
In un paesaggio in cui migliaia di
uccelli hanno trovato un habitat
perfetto per vivere, tra i contorni
impalpabili delle nebbie invernali e
i colori sgargianti della primavera,
l’uomo è uno spettatore privilegiato,
che può osservare, camminare,
pedalare e pescare, magari in silenzio,
per non sciupare lo spettacolo di un
richiamo o di un battito d’ali.
Spegnete il motore e disponetevi in
modalità “slow”! Scegliete la proposta
di visita che preferite, seguendo i
percorsi sulla mappa. Non sprecate,
soprattutto, l’opportunità di provare
un’esperienza nuova: se non lo avete
mai fatto, pedalate tranquillamente
sugli argini pianeggianti o lasciatevi
cullare da un’escursione in barca; e
se non avete mai provato, imparate a
pescare le vongole!
Gli itinerari suggeriti, che riguardano
l’area nord del Parco del Delta del
Po emiliano, tra Volano, Mesola
e Goro, sono sempre fruibili e si
svolgono lungo piste ciclabili, in
barca, o su strade che collegano i
punti d’interesse. Ogni itinerario
può durare qualche ora o un’intera
giornata; per le proposte che
includono la navigazione è
consigliabile prenotare in anticipo.
Per estendere l’esplorazione al Parco
nell’area centrale di Comacchio e
a sud verso Cervia, basta attingere
alle informazioni sul sito uiciale del
parco stesso (www.parcodeltapo.it)
Blue and green. Land and sea. They
mingle and entwine in these unique,
lat lands, to be discovered gently. On
two wheels or by boat, let yourself be
lulled by the scents and bird calls as
you admire the views on the horizon.
A ine balance between man and
nature characterises the Park of the
Po Delta, a UNESCO world heritage
site since 1999, which protects 53,600
hectares at the mouth of the Great
River, marshlands and woodlands
weaving through the canals and sandy
dunes in an area running from Goro
to Cervia. The cove at Sacca di Goro,
with its clam, mussel and oyster farms,
the isolated stretch of sand where
Goro Lighthouse stands, or the Great
Mesola Wood, where you will come
across dune deer: these are just some
of the places to discover through these
itineraries.
Hydraulic architectures and ancient
buildings bear witness to its age-old
history: the towers of Este Castle of
Mesola, the Romanesque Pomposa
Abbey and the sluice buildings of the
Great Este Reclamation: Torre Abate,
Chiavica dell’Agrifoglio, Torre Palù and
Torre della Finanza.
In a landscape in which thousands of
birds have found their ideal habitat, set
against the impalpable backdrop of
the winter fogs and the bright colours
of the spring, man is a privileged
spectator, watching, walking, cycling
and ishing, perhaps in silence, so as
not to disturb the spectacle of a bird
call or the beating of wings.
Turn of your engines, and set your
switch to “slow” mode! Choose one
of the proposed tours, and follow the
route on the map. And, above all, don’t
miss a chance to try a new experience:
if you’ve never done it before, pedal
along the lat banks or relax on a boat
trip; and if you’ve never tried it before,
why not go clam ishing!
The itineraries suggested, in the
northern part of the Park of the Po Delta
in Emilia, between Volano, Mesola and
Goro, run all year round, on cycle
paths, by boat or on roads linking
the points of interest. Each itinerary
may last a few hours or a whole day;
for the tours including boat trips, you
are advised to book in advance. To
extend your exploration into the centre
of the Park, around Comacchio and
southwards towards Cervia, you can
ind out more information on the park’s
oicial website (www.parcodeltapo.it)
