Froma basic inventory management software to total business integration, Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systemshave come a long way and revolutionized business processes and information technology to support businesses.Business Process Integration enabled by an ERP system is an integrated software package that effectively performsall the required business functions of the organization. The integrated modules in accounting, finance, production,materials, sales & distribution and human resources. All of these were integrated and used a common database fornon-redundancy of data entry and storage. This was then extended with advanced planning and morecomprehensive customer relationship management
Course Objectives:
To understand the importance of Business Process Integration (BPI) by using the conceptual understanding
on ERP and its relationship with the support systems. To introduce the students to hands-on exposure to BPI using SAP as a platform.
Prerequisites (if any):
Basic understanding on the business functions and processes.
Basic knowledge on the domains of industry verticals will be preferred
Basic knowledge on computer application and MIS

The Capstone Business SimulationCapstone is a rich, complex business simulation designed to teach marketing, strategy, business finance andaccounting, cross functional alignment, competitive analysis, teamwork and the selection of tactics to build asuccessful, focused organization. Your participants will face a complex and rapidly evolving scenario in whichbusiness acumen is tested and enhanced through modeling, analysis and strategic planning.
In Capstone, your participants will run a $100 million company for eight years (or rounds) as a team. Thecompany they take over is unfocused and performing poorly. It is trying to support five products in very differentmarket segments and faces constant customer demand for better, faster, cheaper products. There is immediatepressure for the management team to develop a strategy and implement it thoroughly with every decision.Each simulated year decisions are required in Research and Development, Marketing, Finance and Production.In later rounds, Human Resources and Total Quality Management will be added for complexity and theopportunity for competitive advantage.Capstone will provide hands experience and learning in many of the critical decisions made in businesstoday: How to organize a management team How to set corporate and departmental goals How to develop a strategy and tactics to support it
How to analyze the market space and competition How to develop cross-functional integration How to design and evaluate new products Sales and Operations Planning Managing marketing and sales resources and budgets Human resources - allocation and training Labour negotiations and using labour costs to competitive advantage Production scheduling, automation and TQM initiatives Inventory control How to read and understand financial statements and financial ratios Interlinkages between functional decisions and how they impact the financial statements. How to raise funds and pay debt, issue and redeem stock, borrow long or short term, pay dividends.
Teamwork, collaboration and leadershipShareholder value, financial control and operational excellence are the keys to successbut they are difficult tomaintain against fierce competition.Because the goal of each management team is to build a successful company based on their chosen corporatestrategy, each team has the opportunity of selecting their own benchmarks for success.
