Study at: University of Hawai’i at Manoa, USA(www.hawaii.edu) Manao Campus Eligibility:

- Citizenship of the Asia, Pacific and United States regions; - G.P.A. 3.0 in the last 2 years of undergraduate study, and graduate level if applying for a Ph.D;

- Either ITP-TOEFL 550, or paper-based TOEFL 550, or computer- based (CBT) TOEFL 213, or internet-based TOEFL 79-80; or IELTS 6.00 total band; and GMAT (for graduate business program) /or GRE for other graduate programs as required by UHM.

Funding Provisions:- Maximum of 24 months for master’s degree- Maximum of 48 months for the doctorate

East-West Center Asia Pacific Leadership Program (APLP)

Who participates?

The 45 participants selected each year have strong

leadership experience. APLP participants come from

minimum 20 countries and a tremendous range of

backgrounds (science, politics, government, medicine,

art, finance, academia). Participants ranges from early

20s to mid 40s with average age of 29.5

In all cases, there is a continuation of the program through online and/or face to face meetings. There is conference a May reunion conference in Honolulu

Eligibility: • Bachelor’s degree from accredited institutions• Either ITP-TOEFL 550 / or paper-based TOEFL 550 / computer-based TOEFL 213/ Ibt-TOEFL 80; or IELTS 6.00 total band. (No work experience required)

Funding provisions:- Tuition and fees at the U. of Hawai’i for course work,- Health insurance,- Allowance for books and educational materials,- Costs of the field study.

- Living Expenses: US$ 600-900

(Dormitory and other participant’s own expenses)

ACADEMIC INSTITUTION in USA ADB grant - administered by the East-West Center (EWC),

Hawai’i, USA Study at - University of Hawai’i-Manoa campus (UHM), USA Field of study – 15 fields as approved by ADB Application made to the EWC.Eligibility 2 full years work experience preferred (to the date of application), Must have the equivalent of a 4-year bachelor’s degree, Must be a citizen of developing member country of the ADB, either ITP-TOEFL 550 /or paper-based TOEFL 550 / or cbt -TOEFL 213, or Internet-based 79-80; or IELTS 6.00 total band; and GMAT (for graduate business program) /or GRE for other graduate programs required by UHM, and Women candidates are encouraged to apply.

SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM (ADB – JSP)

Japan-IMF Scholarship Program for Advanced Studies 2009/2011

With financial support from the Government of Japan, the International Monetary Fund (IMF) administers the scholarship program with the assistance of the Institute of International Education (IIE). The program is intended to train Asian nationals as Fund economists.

Academic Program: To study economics (macro-economics or a related subject)

through Ph.D at a leading university either in the USA, Canada or at some selected Australian universities.

Funding Provisions: All reasonable expenses for 2 years of graduate study

including: one round-trip airfare, full university tuition and fees, medical insurance and related fees, books and living expense allowances.

Eligibility:

1. Scholars are expected to complete their Ph.D by their 33rd birthday,( should not be older than 27 when apply)

2. Be in the process of applying to the universities, OR be accepted to a university at the Ph.D level (applicants have to complete / proceed / and submit their university applications by themselves to their chosen universities, not through the IMF),

3. High scores on CBT-TOEFL or IBT-TOEFL and GRE are the required tests for submission to

the IMF.
