School Day Schedule

Before Care Starts 7:30am

3-hour Work Period 9am - 12noon

Lunch / Recess ( 2 Classes per)⋜ 12 - 1:30pm

Optional Dismissal of 3s and 4s 1:30pm

Afternoon Work Period / Nap 1:30-3:15pm

Important School Logistics and Policies

Clothing Policy

* Shirts with the school logo available for purchase (not required)

Rationale: Children learn best when their clothing is clean and comfortable, encourages freedom of movement, and does not present any elements that could be distracting to themselves or others. •Dress code:

• Navy blue, kelly green, or white collared shirt* with solid colored pants, skirts, jumpers, or jeans

• Slippers for classroom usage only (separate shoes for outdoor use)• Clothing should be free of distracting branding, cartoons, etc.

•Other Key Considerations – Clothing should be:• Clean, appropriately sized, and suitable for work and play• Easy for children to put on and fasten themselves (particularly in

Primary)• Comfortable, supportive shoes and weather-appropriate clothing (sun

hats, rain gear, boots, gloves). • Avoid excessive jewelry, strong perfumes or scents. Hair should be

out of the eyes, with long hair pulled back from the face.

Attendance Procedures

Time Drop-Off Procedure

Before 9am ● Parents bring children to cubbies● Change into indoor shoes● Children dropped off at Multi-Purpose Room (MPR)● If Assistants are already en route to classes, children stay at cubbies● Breakfast service in MPR ends at 8:45am

9am ● All children in classrooms or supervised by Staff in hallways (parents may leave)● Assistants escort children from MPR to classrooms● Assistants take over responsibility for children at the cubbies (parents depart from

hallways at 9am).

9-9:15am Parents drop children off at main office and sign in to the tardy binder

9:15am Lee Staff bring children from office to classes

9:15-9:30am Parents drop children off at main office and sign in to the tardy binder

After 9:30am Children admitted with doctor’s note

● Attendance is a key indicator for the school’s performance review (PCSB tracks in-seat attendance)

● Stream of late arrivals is disruptive to classrooms

Programming● Before Care supported by in-house staff● School Meals (Breakfast, Lunch,

Afternoon Snack) by Graceful Affairs● Morning Snack and Flowers provided by

Families● After Care provided by MOMIEs TLC,

which works to develop “the ‘whole’ child by creating a culture where our children are empowered, comfortable, confident, and inspired.” www.momiestlc.org
