Catania Station The equatorial spar is equipped with 3
instruments: Cook refractor (150/2230 mm), used to make daily
drawings of sunspot-groups from visual observation; 150-mm
refractor (2300 mm focal length) feeding a Zeiss H Lyot-filter
(bandwidth of 0.25 or 0.50 tunable filter range +/- 1 ) and a 2048
x 2048 E2V CCD 42-40 array (in patrol full disk mode the camera can
take images every 150 sec), with a dynamical range of 16 bit;
150-mm refractor (2300 mm focal length) feeding a H Halle-filter
for limb observations. 1st SPRING Workshop, Nov 26-28, 2103 Global

Solar data archive and distribution Taking into account that
solar observations started in Catania more than one century ago, we
stress the important heritage provided by the several and different
sets of data, like the photographic archives stored at the Catania
Observatory. These archives mostly consist of synoptic full-disk
photospheric and chromospheric observations, the latter taken with
a spectroheliograph or with birifringent filters, in the CaII K and
H lines. These observations, stored on plates and acetate
negatives, date from 1926 to 1998. Digitized jpeg images of the
photosphere, chromosphere (in H) and scanned images of the drawings
of the photosphere from 1998 to 2010 are available at
ftp://inaf-node- 83.oact.inaf.it/ftp://inaf-node- 83.oact.inaf.it/
On request, we provide fits files of the images of the photosphere
and chromosphere, which can be used for scientific analysis.
Together with these data, we also provide the flat-field and dark
current files. 1st SPRING Workshop, Nov 26-28, 2103
