    Consolidarea relaiilor interpersonale pozitive la

    locul de munc: antidot pentru burnout

    Introducere

    Burnout-ul este un fenomen important n organizaii prin consecinele negative pe care le genereaz asupra angajailor i companiilor. Aspecte-cheie din organizaii, precum corectitudinea i comunitatea de la locul de munc, sunt responsabile pentru nivelul de burnout resimit de angajai. Acest editorial se dorete a fi o pledoarie n favoarea comunitii de la locul de munc i explic mecanismele prin care relaiile disfuncionale contribuie la apariia burnout-ului, precum i procesele prin care relaiile interpersonale sntoase pot constitui un antidot pentru acest fenomen.

    Riscurile burnout-ului

    De peste patruzeci de ani, cercettorii i practicienii au studiat i dezbtut cauzele i efectele burnout-ului, cu scopul de a avea organizaii mai performante i angajai mai implicai n activitatea companiilor. Burnout-ul este o reacie la stresul persistent de la locul de munc i se caracterizeaz prin epuizare emoional (i.e., sentimentul angajailor de a se simi consumai i n imposibilitatea de a se recupera), cinism (i.e., experiena dezinteresului i a unei abordri negative sau indiferente fa de colegi i fa de locul de munc, n general) i ineficien profesional (i.e., starea de insatisfacie fa de munc i inadecvare) (Watts & Robertson, 2011; Maslach & Leiter, 1997). Mai mult, simptomele burnout-ului pot fi transmise ntre colegii de la locul de munc (Bakker, Demerouti, & Schaufeli, 2003). n esen,

    burnout-ul deriv dintr-un dezechilibru de durat ntre solicitrile i resursele de la locul de munc, problemele n ariile cheie din organizaii (cum ar fi relaiile interpersonale sau volumul de munc), dar apare i n situaiile n care se reliefeaz o discrepan ntre inteniile declarate i realitatea din organizaii
