In The House (ITH) was establish in 2007 to increase access to cultural arts for

NYC schools and students.

ITH aims to expand the definition of CULTURAL ARTS  LEARNING by broadeningconcepts of conventional classroom learning and by stimulating the support of

NYC’s COMMUNITY ORGANIZATIONS & ARTIST ENSEMBLES by a new generationof youth, students and educators.

ITH enriches the learning and academic experience of NYC youth and educatorsby providing low cost admission to quality and unique performances that

highlight cultural/traditional music, teaching audiences the history of these andhow these resonate to contemporary and urban realities.

Ultimately ITH traces and strengthens the connections between:

Arts, Music and Education and LearningNYC’s diverse Latino and immigrant communities

cross-cultural dialogues amongst musicians and presenting artists

 What do our audiences say?

“(Los Pleneros de la 21) left such a great impression on me and on my students!”

“Inspiring and Heart-Warming!”

“My students had a phenomenal time and learned so much!” “The performance I took my students to see was a revelation… It made my heart swell. My teaching partners

also loved the performance. One of them from DR said her eyes welled with tears when the Salve was performed.

She remembers visiting her grandmother in the country and seeing dancers barefoot dancers, dressed in white.”
