BIOJackie Castillo aka Jackie Cas’ or ‘JackStar’ is a Belizean jazz, soul and reggae singer. She is the only child for her mother and second of six for her father. She was born and raised in Be-lize City and music was always a part of her life. But, it wasn’t until she began living with her grandmother in Dangriga town that Jackie was introduced to performing, and singing in Gar-ifuna and she adapted very quickly to the stage. Her love of music and performances continued throughout her high school years at St Catherine’s Academy.

In 2004 while attending Junior College she joined the Belize Theatre Company and the Belize Music Agency and began training and performing at events around Belize City. Jackie later ce-mented her presence in the Belize entertainment scene when she became a Radio Personality on the Popular Radio Station More Fm 99.5. Her wide appeal of music has been reflected in many notable performances including being a soloist in the We Are Belize 25 Anniversary Spe-cial produced by acclaimed pianists Frankie Reneau, and also in the Women in Art a “Night at Cabaret.” She has opened for international artist including Jamaican Artist Cecile, Tarrus Riley, and Chronixx.

This Belizean-bred artist has a very unique and provocative style, with a Garifuna influence of soul, jazz and reggae. In addition Jackie is a great actor and song writer, authoring her very own lyrics to her popular hits. Her songs introduce you to her personal stories about celebrat-ing life, the adventures of love, and the journey of being a woman in today’s society. In 2014 she premiered her first video for her single “Borrow & Steal” directed by YoungStarr Entertain-ment, and received strong radio and television play and was on the Wave top ten video for 5 weeks. Jackie is currently working on her first LP in 2015 and continues to perform at many events across Belize.
