The course provided a real life simulation, where existing drill components needed to be used for future design, considering plastic injection moulding rules. newknowledge of rapid prototyping and Solidworks modelling was provided.
For amateur users today’sdri l ls don’ t provide any dri l l ing guidance. As a result, it is almost impossible to be in control of the drilling angle and drill hole depth. The new design ensures users have full control over these measures, by having an integrated assistance ruler. with a guided ruler, users can be confident and work much faster and precise.

The first term project during AdvancedProductDesignisexecutedin collaboration with LKAB mining company and Atlas Copco.
The main challenge was how to solve the operator’s vision problem while increasing scaling productivity and safety at the same time.
Optif lex is an add-on product for existing scaletec rigs. It significantly improves operators vision and access to crucial data that improves productivity, precision, rock surface evaluation and safety.

rock surface geometry, hidden cracks and

Operator has access to this data from the

The task was to create a sustainable urban plan for “Kipsala”– an island located in the centre of Riga. within the context of this new plan a row house proposal had to be made.
House is for active family that loves to enjoy the entire building. Projecthasauniquestructureofseveral platforms each at a different height. Al l levels group around central staircase. This ensures smoother transit ion between spaces, promoting to use the whole house, especial ly roof terraces. This system al lows to have both functional service access for garden and a large studio type living area on thefirstfloor.

Term healthcare project is incollaborationwithPhilips:“Let the Phi l ips come even closer.“ Course emphysises the need of healthcare quality improvement at home enviroment.
There are 300 000 new ostomy patients every year. In most cases this operation is the only option to save their lives with the cost of having an external stool collecting bag for the rest of their l ives. Today’s bag solutions are very primitiveandunpleasant.Patientshave hard time managing these bags. They worrying about problems related to leakage, bad odor and unattractive appearance. This leads to damaged self- image, poor l i fe qual ity and depression.
