Joyce is the project manager coordinating civil and structural disciplines, and working as part of the client’s overall design team with eventual novation to the D&C Builder. The design challenges on the tower include optimising the structural efficiencies of open floor plates with long spans whilst meeting the stringent curtain wall deflection criteria and designing for repetition to meet the tight construction program.

177 Pacific Highway, North Sydney is a 30 storey commercial office tower with approximately 39,000m2 of net lettable area and is the first commercial development in North Sydney in 6 years. When complete, it will be the national operating headquarters of Leighton Holdings.

Joyce is the project manager coordinating civil, structural and geotechnical disciplines as well as the lead structural concept designer for the tower. The design challenges on the tower include diversion of an existing 900mm stormwater pipe within the basement levels, the design of the shoring retention system to accommodate an existing brick wall on the boundary, long span cantilevers of up to 7metres on the tower office floors and an offset lift core.

1 William Street - Brisbane, AustraliaCBUS Property / Brookfield Multiplex, 2012-2014 AUD 300 Million.

Joyce was responsible for design delivery and coordination of the tower from an early conceptual bidding stage to the detailed design stage. These included the concept design of the tower columns, core walls for lateral stability and typical post tensioned floor framing. She also oversaw the construction delivery of the tower’s major concrete transfer structure at Level 3 where innovative reinforcement prefabrication techniques were adopted to reduce construction time by up to 3 months. This was done in close collaboration with the D&C contractor.

241 – 245 Oxford Street, Bondi Junction - Sydney, AustraliaLeighton Properties, 2013 AUD 40 Million.

241 – 245 Oxford Street, Bondi Junction is a proposed 21 storey residential tower with approximately 120 units. The site is directly over the existing Eastern Suburbs rail tunnels. Development Application for the tower has been recently submitted.

Joyce is the project manager coordinating civil, structural and façade disciplines as well as the lead structural designer on the tower. The tower has 2 levels of basement, 4 above ground podium levels and is primarily of reinforced concrete framing.

Gateway WA Tender Design - Perth, AustraliaThiess / Abigroup Joint Venture, 2012 AUD 1 Billion.

Gateway WA Tender design is an upgrade of the existing Tonkin Highway between Great Eastern Highway and Rose Highway, and Leach Highway between Orrong Road and Tonkin Highway.

Joyce was responsible for design delivery and coordination of the both structures and pedestrian underpasses from the Sydney office, with the main project office in Perth.

These structures were designed as watertight retaining structures, with a 100 year design life and stringent requirement for waterproofing. Difference design options with reinforcement rates were provided for costing.

60 Station Street, Parramatta - Sydney, AustraliaLeighton Properties/Grosvenor Australia Joint Venture (novation to John Holland Group), 2010 to 2012 AUD 170 Million.

Joyce was the lead structural designer and Project Manager of this 20 storey commercial tower with 2 levels of basement adjacent to the existing railway line. She was involved from the project start up (DA submission) through to construction handover and assisted the clients (both developer and builder) to ensure on time delivery of key project milestones.

The structural footprint of the tower consists of an offset lift core with post tensioned floor framing system, and high strength concrete columns to maximise net lettable area. Her design enabled a five day construction cycle for typical floors to be achieved to meet the tight construction program.

825 Ann Street—Brisbane, QueenslandFMG Steel Bin Structure Review—Solomon, WA,Laing O’Rourke Australia, 2011.

825 Ann Street is a mixed used development consisting of commercial, residential and retail areas.
