quality service to livestock farmers and other stake-holders through effective extension service

5. Department of Extension Service Co-ordination (DESC)

The mandate of the Department of Extension Services Coordination is to coordinate all agricultural programmes and projects in the country to enhance the performance of the sector. This mandate will be fulfilled through pulling together all professional Departments of the Ministry of Agriculture that provide technical information to the farming commu-nity to function in unison. The Department of Exten-sion Services Coordination was established to improve extension delivery.

6. Department of Agricultural Research (DAR) The overall mandate of the Department of Agricul-

tural Research is to generate, through research, improved crop and livestock production technologies to promote the development of a productive and environment friendly agricultural sector. The depart-ment addresses this through commodity and factor

1. Assistance for Preservation & Development of Cultural Heritage of Himalayas The objective of the scheme is to promote, protect

2. Financial Assistance for Preservation and Development of Buddhist/Tibetan Culture and Art The object of the scheme is to give financial
