    KASHIDA OF BIHAR

Unlike kashida of kashmir embroidery of bihar is famous as

kashida of bihar and is done mostly on fabrics of day to day use.

However the folk involved in kashida work of kashmir are men

and that of bihar is women.

The women have full freedom to expess themselves through theirdesigns .Since the garments are mostly for personal use the motifs

are highly abstract and stylized and are rarely copied from any

    books.

The use of figures dominates kashida of bihar which is in contrast

to that of kashmir. The designs are mostly rectangles , suares, wavy lines and

    diamonds.

    CONCLUSION

India is a land of vivid cultures and its diversity brings with it

different forms of arts and craft Kashida embroidery just beingone of many. What is important is that this embroidery

continues to exist and flourish over years with embibng in it

changes in consumer demands and changing fashion trends. As

it is rightly said there is always a scope for improvement. India

continues to be a leader in handicraft exports in which

kashida embroidery is used. What is even moreacknowledgeable are the efforts of designers to absorb this

traditional embroidery in their creative works. No matter how

globalised and modernised we are today we have managed to

carry our roots along. Its these roots which make us strong .
