HANDCRAFTED WITH LOVEHECHAS A MANO CON PASIÓN

La producción de una urna LoveUrnTM empieza con la

fabricación de una matriz o por el plegado del metal

encima de un molde de rotación rápida. El molde es como

un encofrado de arena en la que se aprieta la matriz.

A continuación en ese hueco se vierte el metal líquido.

Después de la solidificación se elimina la arena con un

cepillo y se envían los moldes en bruto al taller donde

continúa el proceso de fabricación del producto.

El molde principal es pulido cuidadosamente, aplicándose

des-pués figuras y líneas, con ayuda de un martillo y un

cincel. En algunas urnas este paso se lleva a cabo después

de aplicar la pintura. Una vez pintada, la urna extruida es

colocada en un horno de secado y después es pulida una

vez más. Ahora se aplica una segunda capa de pintura y

Manufacturing a LoveUrnTM urn begins with making the

mould or folding the metal on a rapid rotation mould.

The mould is like a sand formwork in which the die is

pressed. The molten metal is then poured into this

hollow. Once the metal has set, the sand is removed

with a brush and the raw bodies of the urns are sent

to the workshop where manufacturing continues.

The main body is carefully polished, and figures and

lines applied with a hammer and chisel. For some urns,

this process takes place after the urn has been painted.

Once painted, the extruded urn is placed in a drying

oven, and then polished once again. A second coat of

paint is applied, the urn is given a final polish and it is

ready.

URNAS DE CERÁMICA

Ceramic urns are undoubtedly one of the most popular

types of urn. They are manufactured from carefully

selected materials to obtain a ceramic base from which

the different models are created. Ceramic urns are

glazed in different colours, and come in many pretty

and colourful designs. A particular feature in our

collection are Chameleon urns, which are treated with

a layer of metallic paint which shimmers and changes

tone depending on how the light reflects on it. A large

part of our collection ceramic urn can be placed in

inside as well as outside.

Uno de los materiales más utilizados para la fabricación

de urnas es la cerámica. Mezclando ingredientes es-

pecialmente seleccionados se consigue una masa

cerámica a partir de la que se crean los diferentes

modelos. Las urnas llevan un revestimiento de esmalte

de diferentes colores que resultan en unos preciosos

diseños de gran colorido. En nuestra oferta destacan

especialmente las urnas Camaleón, que llevan una capa de

pintura metalizada que, según la luz, presenta diferentes

tonalidades. Parte de nuestra colección de urnas cerámica

son apropiadas tanto para interior como para exterior.


CERAMIC URNS | URNAS DE CERÁMICA

The first step in manufacturing a ceramic urn is to draw

a sketch with the technical specifications. This sketch is

used to create a plaster model as the base mould which

will be used for all subsequent models. The different

models are poured into this mould and left to dry, then

smoothed off and fired at 900°C. After this the glaze is

applied and they are fired again, this time at 1050°C.

A different manufacturing method is used for the

CA urns, which are fashioned entirely by hand from a

piece of clay weighing 9 kilos and worked on a potter’s

wheel. Once these urns are finished, they are left to

dry for three weeks and then fired two or three times

at up to 1250°C.

El primer paso en el proceso de fabricación de una

urna de cerámica es la confección de un boceto con las

especificaciones técnicas. Basado en el boceto se prepara

un modelo de yeso que a continuación se usa como molde

base que se aplicará para todos los productos posteriores

mediante un molde. En este molde se vacían los diferentes

modelos y que ahora se dejan secar. Después del secado

se alisan las superficies y se cuecen a una temperatura de

900°C. Se aplica el esmalte y la urna se vuelve a cocer,

ahora a 1050°C.

Un proceso distinto es la producción de las urnas de

cerámica CA, hechas de un trozo de arcilla de unos 9

kilos se modelan totalmente a mano en un torno. Una vez

terminadas las urnas, éstas se dejan secar durante tres

semanas antes de cocerlas dos o tres veces a temperaturas

de hasta 1250°C.

All the crystal urns in our collection are fashioned

from finest quality Bohemian crystal.

Given that these models are of hand-blown glass,

each one has its own unique pattern of colours. Each

urn is a work of art in its own right.

A WORK OF ARTUNA OBRA DE ARTE

All our crystal urns are hand-blown and although each

model is manufactured in a specific way, the basis is the

same for all models. The first step is to attach a bubble

of molten glass to a glassblowing pipe, and then to

apply various layers of coloured glass. Following on, the

required decorations and designs are applied. Then the

urn is bathed in molten glass again, the final step for

coating the urn in a layer of clear glass which gives it a

glossy finish. Each one of these urns is entirely hand-

made. The cane and wooden mould are used to ensure

that each one is identical in terms of shape and volume;

what distinguishes them from each other is the finish

and decoration, such as leaves or flowers, which makes

each urn a unique piece.

la caña y de un molde de madera se garantiza que todas

las urnas sean idénticas en cuanto a forma y volumen. Lo

que es distinto es el acabado y la ornamentación, tal como

hojas y flores, que hacen de cada urna un objeto único.

The nature of this material makes fibreglass urns not

only highly decorative, but also very long-lasting and

robust. These urns are therefore ideal to place in a

columbarium (in the shade), and are an affordable

alternative to stone, marble or granite.

Gracias a las características del material, las urnas de

fibra de vidrio no solamente son muy decorativas, sino

que también son muy duraderas. Por ello son idóneas

para el Columbario como alternativa asequible a las

urnas de piedra, mármol y granito.

The first step in manufacturing a fibreglass urn is to

create a structure from fibreglass, resin and plaster. To

this, two or three thick coats of glaze mixed with plaster

are applied. Mother of pearl designs are then glued on

to the urn, followed by a further three coats of glaze.

The urn is rinsed with water between each coating.

Colours are then applied, then another coat of varnish.

The mother of pearl design is picked out and cleaned

with a knife, then a final coat of varnish is applied, the

urn is smoothed off and polished, and the process is

complete.

El primer paso en la fabricación de una urna de fibra

de vidrio es la confección de una estructura de fibra

de vidrio, resina y yeso. Después se aplican dos o tres

gruesas capas de esmalte mezclado con yeso. Los

dibujos de madreperla se pegan con cola sobre las urnas

y a continuación se aplican otras tres capas de esmalte.

Después de cada capa la urna se enjuaga con agua.

El paso siguiente consiste en añadir los colores,

aplicándose después otra capa de barniz. Ya falta poco

para que la urna esté terminada, pero primero se recupera

el dibujo de madreperla con ayuda de una cuchilla.

Después de aplicar otra capa de barniz más, el exterior

de la urna es alisado y finalmente pulido una vez más.

Our biodegradable urns are manufactured from 100%

biodegradable organic materials. Over time, this urn

will decompose and return to the soil. Biodegradable

urns are primarily used for ashes which are to be

buried. They are also suitable for funerals at sea,

where the urn is cast into the water and decomposes

naturally.

Estas urnas están hechas de materiales orgánicos y son

por tanto 100% biodegradables. La urna se descompone

con el tiempo y es absorbida de nuevo por la tierra. Este

Our biodegradable urns are manufactured exclusive-

ly by specialist companies who use entirely environ-

mentally-friendly manufacturing processes. We can

therefore guarantee that these urns are hand-made

using only vegetable or mineral raw materials. Apart

from wood, the materials used to manufacture these

urns are vegetable extracts, sand, sea salt, glass,

recycled cardboard, natural resin and bees’ wax.

They can be ordered in a rigid or soft version, both

100% biodegradable. After the urn is buried, the ashes

are released gradually as the container decomposes.

In the end, the entire urn is absorbed into the soil and

returns to nature, leaving no toxic residues.

Nuestras urnas biodegradables son fabricadas exclu-

sivamente por compañías especializadas que aplican

procesos de producción absolutamente respetuosos con

el medio ambiente. Por esta razón podemos garantizar

que todas las urnas están hechas a mano utilizando solo

materias primas de origen vegetal o mineral. Aparte de

la madera, para la producción de estas urnas se utilizan

la urna las cenizas se van liberando poco a poco al

The finest-quality wood used for these urns comes

from carefully managed forests in northern Spain. The

Monterey Pine variety was introduced from America

in the 19th century in order to combat the rapid

deforestation of the coastal area of northern Spain. The

major advantage of this variety of pine is that it only

takes 30 years to reach maturity, whereas traditional

wood varieties such as beech, oak and chestnut take

almost 200 years. Moreover, Monterey Pine is easy to

work. From tree to urn, there are some 15 different

processes including sawing, planing, hollowing, gluing,

and turning, amongst others. Most of these processes

are done by hand, carefully supervised and carried out

by skilled artisans.

La madera de primera calidad que empleamos para estas

urnas procede de bosques especialmente controlados en el

Norte de España. La especie Pino Radiata llegó a mediados

del siglo XIX de América para contrarrestar la rápida

deforestación de la zona costera norteña. La gran ventaja

de este tipo de pino es que solo hacen falta 30 años para

que el árbol llegue a adulto, a diferencia de las maderas

tradicionales, tales como la haya, el roble y el castaño, que

necesitan casi 200 años. Resulta además que el Pino Radiata

es fácil de trabajar. El proceso de producción desde el

árbol hasta la urna incluye 15 operaciones diferentes, tales

como aserrado, lijado, vaciado, encolado, fresado, etc. La

mayor parte de este proceso es trabajo artesanal, en el que

cada fase es controlada cuidadosamente por profesionales

cualificados.

vary from one urn to the next, but also the crystalline

structure and veins typical of marble. For this reason,

Marble is a traditional material, and its texture and

evenness enable inspired and original end products

to be manufactured. The high quality marble we use

comes from quarries in Asia. Large blocks of this

natural stone are quarried and then worked with

special moulds until the shape of an urn is achieved.

Once this process is complete, the urn is finished

by hand and polished several times to give a lasting

product with a character all of its own.

El mármol es un material tradicional y gracias a su textura

y homogeneidad inspira y deja libertad para la creación

de productos finales únicos. El mármol de alta calidad que

utilizamos para nuestras urnas procede de canteras de Asia.

Se cortan grandes bloques de esta piedra natural, que son

trabajados con ayuda de moldes especiales hasta que

aparezca la forma de una urna de mármol. Después de este

proceso la urna se termina a mano y se pule varias veces,

resultando en un producto duradero con carácter propio.

for ashes. These pieces of jewelry are made of high-

quality 925 Sterling silver, which means that it is made

of at least 92.5% pure silver. The remaining 7,5% is an

alloy to give strength to the jewel.

Typical for these pieces of jewelry is their perfect

finish which makes the jewel not recognisable as an

ashholder. Moreover, the pendant is not attached

to the necklace, but the necklace goes through the

pendant.
