Diz a lenda que o Minotauro, criatura metade homem metade touro, habitava o labirinto construído sob o palácio do rei Minos. Legend tells that the Minotaur, creature half man half bull, lived in the labyrinth built beneath the palace of King Minos. As punishment for the murder of his son Androgeneu, Minos forced Athens to pay a debt of blood, with the annual submis-sion of 7 young men and 7 young girls to be devoured by the Minotaur. And so it went, until the day Theseus, Athenian hero, killed the Minotaur.

King Minos Na Mitologia Grega, Minos
foi um rei semi-lendário,
filho de Zeus e da princesa
fenícia Europa. Muitas são
as lendas onde intervém,
desde a construção do labi-
rinto por Dédalo e pelo
filho Ícaro, até ao nasci-
mento do minotauro ou ao
sacrifício dos jovens ate-
nienses. A próspera civili-
zação descoberta na ilha de
Creta recebeu o nome de
minoica em homenagem ao
mítico rei.

Herói Olímpico Perder...
To Lose...
Queremos vencer qualquer coisa: pequenos obstáculos, pequenos desafios,
do Olimpismo!
Participation in sports supposes, before any technical or tactical
consideration, the acceptance of two possible outcomes: winning
or losing.
Winning is something that lifts us, that exalts us, that thrills our
intimate. But if this desire to come first pours from the most faint
glimmer of existence, the truth is that, however, losing always
comes first in any equation.
Nevertheless, we try to ward off defeat with an almost superhu-
man impulse. We want to win anything: small obstacles, small
challenges, minor difficulties, including achieve moral victories.
And indeed, to any human being, even if far from the major inter-
national podiums, victory it is always something legitimate to
aspire.
To win, to gain, is part of our existence, even in the wake of the
mathematical certainty that one day everything will fail. But it´s
this discontent that gives us humanity, for it´s this same philoso-
phical dissatisfaction that when held together, can make us pro-
gress as society.
For if the biological life of the human being is ephe-
meral and fleeting, his ethics, philosophical and moral
construction is elixir for the bitter taste of defeat and
elevates the human community on achieving compre-
hensive victory. And that's the purpose of Olympism!
