Ontheauthorityofthewifeoftheprophet(peaceandblessingsbeuponhim),UmmSalamahsaid:"Whentheversewasrevealedthattheyshouldcasttheiroutergarmentsovertheirbodies'wasrevealed,thewomenofAnsarcameoutasiftheyhadcrowsovertheirheadsbywearingoutergarments."

2.Thehijabmustnotbeadisplay

Thehijabitselfmustnotbeadisplay.Allahordaineditsoastocoverthebeautyofwomenandnotforshowingoff.Allahsays:"Andnotshowoftheiradornmentexceptonlythatwhichisapparent."[NobleQuran24:31].

"Andstayinyourhousesanddonotdisplayyourselveslikethatofthetimesofignorance."[NobleQuran33:33].

Itisinnowaylogicalthatthehijabitselfbeasourceofdisplay.

3.Thehijabmustnotbetransparent

Thepurposeofwearinghijabmustbeachieved.Inorderforthehijabtobeacover,itmustnotbemadeoftransparentmaterialmakingthewomancoveredonlyb

yname,whileinrealitysheisnaked.

Theprophet(peaceandblessingsbeuponhim)isquotedassaying:"InthelatestpartofmyUmmah(nationofMuslims)thereshallbewomenwhowouldbenakedinspiteofbeingdressed,theyhavetheirhairhighlikethehumpsoftheBukhtcamel,cursethem,fortheyarecursed.TheywillnotenterAl-Jannahandwouldnotevenperceiveitsodor,althoughit'sfragrancecanbeperceivedfromadistanceof500yearstravelingbycamel"Thisindicatesthatawomancouldcauseherselfagraveanddestructivesinifsheputsonagarmentthatisthinandtransparentandwhichclearlyshapesherbody'sfeatures.

4.Hijabmustberoomy,andnottight.

Thehijabisasafeguardagainstfitnah.Ifitistight,itwillbedescriptiveofthewoman'sbodyandthisviolatesanddefeatsthewholepurposeofhijab.

5.Thehijabmustnotbeperfumed

OntheauthorityofAd-Diya'Al-Maqdisi,theprophet(peaceandblessingsbeuponhim)said:"Anywomanwhoperfumesherselfandpassesbysomepeoplethattheysmellherscent,thensheisaZaniyah(adulteress)."

6.Thehijabshouldn'tresemblethedressofaman

ImamAhmed,an-Nasa'ireportedtheprophet(peaceandblessingsbeuponhim)tohavesaid:"Womenwhoassumethemannersofmenarenotfromusandalsothoseofmenwhoassumethemannersofwomen."

AbuHurairahnarratedthat:"TheProphet(peaceandblessingsbeuponhim)CURSEDthemanwhowearsthedressofawomanandthewomanwhowearsthedressofaman."

7.ThehijabmustnotresemblethegarmentsoftheKuffar

AbuDawudandAhmedhaverelatedtheprophet(peaceandblessingsbeuponhim)said:"Theonewhotakethesimilitude(manner)ofacertainpeople,thenhe/shebecomesoneofthem."

AbdullahbinUmarsaid:"TheProphet(peaceandblessingsbeuponhim)sawmewearingtwogarmentsdyedinsaffron(orange),whereuponhesaid:thesearetheclothes(usuallyworn)bytheKuffar,sodonotwearthem."

8.Thehijabshouldnotbeforfame

AbuDawudandIbnMajahhaverelatedtheprophettosaying:"Theonewhowearsagarmentdesignedforaworldlyfame,AllahwillmakethemwearagarmentofhumilityontheDayOfResurrectionthenhewillbesetablaze."Thegarmentoffameisanygarmentapersonwearstomakethemselveslookfamous.Thisapplieswhetherthegarmentishighlypreciousandshowsadmirationtothelifeofthisworldorifitischosenofalowqualitytoshowlackofinteresttothisworldlylife.Thepersonmayputonclotheswithdistinctcolorssoastodrawattention,actproudlyand/orarrogantly.

9.Concealedwaysofdisplay

ExaminingthevariousconditionsaboutthehijabonecanclearlyrecognizethatmanyoftheyoungMuslimwomenarenotfulfillingtheseconditions.Manyjusttake"half-way"measures,whichnotonlymocksthecommunityinwhichshelives,butalsomocksthecommandsofAllah.Theyconsiderwhattheyputonnowwronglyas"hijab"So,OMuslims,bemindfultoAllahandHisMessenger(peaceandblessingsbeuponhim),anddonotdeceivedbythosewho"bless"thisactionofyoursandconcealtheirtrueintentions.

Donotbedeceived,andthereisnoexcusetofollowtheevil.IfyouaresincereinachievingAl-Jannah,thenbemindfulofthesethings,
