The works are composed only out of natural material found in the area of the event that is taking place. Basic stock usually consists of differ ent types of stone, wood, roots, earth, sand and any other gift from the Forest that we find to be 'uniquely beautiful'. These elements are then bound together in different harmonious ways ending up to be a complete part of the environment it was created from: it has always been there... The Journey always begins with a deep connection to the Nature that is part of the event's environment. Every Forest, every Mountain, every River is host to different types of flora and fauna, thus elements that will be part of the Garden are always different from one project to the other. Sometimes it can be massive stone gardens; at others intensely jungle feelings might make their way towards your spirit. The essence that resides in all of them, however, points towards the same laws of understanding: perceiving beauty in all its forms, raising vibration through feelings of amazement, love, inner peace and aiding connection through meditation and dance. Different terrain types influence Garden designs and approach. Sometimes the odds are in our favor and Mother Nature helps in realizing our works, but at others she challenges in many different ways, leaving place for much improvisation in order to achieve the same goal. On flat terrains, Gardens tend to take shapes of intricate geometric designs, mostly inspired from sacred geometry and patterns studied in Nature. Almost always the earth of the land is mixed with water and used to raise Garden levels above the floor, playing with surfaces and angles but without abandoning the feeling that it always grew there. Kogaion Tribe  is a landscaping, gardening and natural decorations project that

finds inspiration in the works of the greatest artist ever: Mother Nature. The works are

composed only out of natural material found in the area of the event that is taking

place. Basic stock usually consists of different types of stone, wood, roots, earth, sand and any

other gift from the Forest that we find to be 'uniquely beautiful'. These elements are thenbound together in different harmonious ways ending up to be a complete part of the

environment it was created from: it has always been there...

The Journey always begins with a

deep connection to the Nature that is part

of the event's environment. Every Forest,

every Mountain, every River is host to

different types of flora and fauna, thus

elements that will be part of the Garden

are always different from one project tothe other. Sometimes it can be massive

stone gardens; at others intensely jungle

feelings might make their way towards

your spirit. The essence that resides in all

of them, however, points towards the

same laws of understanding: perceiving

beauty in all its forms, raising vibration through feelings of amazement, love, inner peace

and aiding connection through meditation and dance. Different terrain types influence

Garden designs and approach. Sometimes the odds are in our favor and Mother Nature

helps in realizing our works, but at others she challenges in many different ways, leaving

place for much improvisation in order to achieve the same goal. On flat terrains, Gardens

tend to take shapes of intricate geometric designs, mostly inspired from sacred geometry

and patterns studied in Nature. Almost always the earth of the land is mixed with water

and used to raise Garden levels above the floor, playing with surfaces and angles but

without abandoning the feeling that it always grew there.

METATRON S CUBE was the source of inspiration in the design of the Garden

built for Freqs of Nature 2012 festival in Germany. The flat and sandy surface provided no

assistance whatsoever in the construction of the infrastructure; thus the level of all the

elements had to be raised artificially in order to make the Garden ‘rise up’  from the ground

level.

The garden covered a surface of about 50 square meters and used literally tons of

sand, earth and stone as primary material. The center-piece consisted of a beautiful pine

root that was reconditioned and oiled for more vivid colors. The shape of the pyramid is

a structural secret, the same technique being used to conceive all sorts of other

interesting geometric designs. With candles and torches lighting up the Garden at night,

the place becomes mystical, gathering people around it with soothing and calming effects, a

welcome oasis of tranquility.

A week’s worth of work:

making acquaintance with the forest,

 gathering material and defining areas

and patterns with construction strings

for the future Garden to unfold.

THE CENTRAL GARDEN made for Freqs of Nature 2013 consisted of a beautiful

collaboration between our tribe, French metal sculptor Patrice Hubert and German deco-crew

Free Optics. Lycra and other well-designed materials covered the ceiling of the dance floor

while the kinetic sculpture, rotating in a gyroscopic manor, created the link between the sky

and our garden at the bottom. Although improvised, the three projects blended in togetherperfectly, as if planned beforehand.

The layout was shaped by the six

central poles used for the roof of the dance

floor and gave the garden a hexagonal

design. Base level was raised approx. 30 cm

off the ground using sand. The center on

which the sculpture was placed … well, that ’ s

another secret covered in moss.

THE ELVEN WATERFALL was a shared effort between Kogaion and our Russian

friend Leo, an excellent gardener and musician. The artwork was built on top of an ex-military

hangar covered in earth and flora. Water basins had to be dug in several steps of the project,

being connected to each other with pond lining. Tree roots of different kinds watched over the

stream of water running downwards, reaching the base garden built on top of a solid woodenstructure, sturdy enough to support the heavy weight of sand mixed with water, tree roots and

stone, and finally the lake from which the water was pumped back upwards.

This was the most demanding project yet, requiring almost a week of building time to

complete. There was literally nothing there but blank space and all the elements had to bebrought in existence by the people working on the project – from the first hole to the last pump

responsible for keeping the waterfall running. Massive quantities of stone and sand had to be

brought in and shaped to give the impression it has always been there. Plants and flowers were

also planted and required maintenance throughout the whole event, watering every now and

then and fixing what dogs stumbled upon in their playful rampage.

Our tribe has worked together with many different crews in other projects, sometimes

involving stage designs, others just support for other ways of expressing art (e.g. OZORA and

SUN Festival in Hungary, Transylvania Calling in Romania, MoDem Festival in Croatia and

other smaller, private projects).

Whether the Gardens represent a place of meditation in a hidden place through theforest or they are part of a stage and dance floor, they always fill up the space with a deep,

ancient feeling of a strong connection to the essence of life, a sense of unity with everything

and balance through energy exchange.

You can find more detailed pictures of our work on our facebook page

(http://facebook.com/kogaiontribe) or on our blog (http://kogaiontribe.blogspot.com).

The design of the Gardens is always a subject of availability of material found on site. One needs to assess the surrounding nature and give a perspective of what is and what is not

to be found on site. If means of transportation are provided (e.g. a car), material can be

gathered many kilometers away from the construction site. Depending on the size and nature

of the project, professional tools such as cement mixers, chainsaws or other electrical

equipment may be required. Feel free to contact us at [email protected] :)

2013; a real challenge for us since Nature itself was already so amazing it was difficult for our

 project to stand out.
