まずは朗報です。この２年見送られていた小坂町でのＪＩＣＡ研修が来年度復活実施されることとなりました。ご尽力いただきました納理事、工藤理事に感謝申し上げます。特に工藤理事にはモンゴル大使館への訪問などご足労いた

だきました。因みに工藤理事は私の自慢の教え子の一人で、ＡＩＡ（秋田県国際交流協会）との連携にもご尽力いただきました。ありがたいことです。さて、今日はＫＩＳ会員の高校生のプレゼンテーションの

紹介とその感想を述べ、新年の挨拶と致します。プレゼンの主題は「国際交流が生む地域愛」。ＪＩＣＡ研修員との交流や「ＡＫＩＴＡ　ＩＮＡＫＡ　スクール」生徒とのふれあいを通し、地域の人々が元気になることを実感し、将来は外国の方々と地域の人々とのコーディネートをする仕事に就きたいという内容です。実はこれは大学の推薦入試のプレゼンで、「活動実績報告書」として小坂町国際交流協会長の捺印をさせていただきました。「グローカル」という言葉があります。グローバルな視点でローカル（地域）のよさを見直し、地域の活性化に繋げるということで、我々ＫＩＳ会員の目指すところでもあると思います。若い会員の中から国際交流を通して町の活性化に貢献したいという人材が生まれていることは嬉しいことであります。

First,  some  good  news.  After  a  two‑year  hiatus,  the  JICA trainee program will resume in the coming fiscal year. We thank board  officers  Mr.  Osame  and  Mr.  Kudō  for  their  efforts  in making  this  happen.  Mr.  Kudō  even  made  trips  to  the Mongolian embassy. Incidentally, Mr. Kudō is a former student of mine,  and has  also  been  vital  in  our  dealing with AIA  (the Akita International Association). He has our thanks.Moving  on,  I  would  like  to  introduce  and  speak  about  a 

presentation  by  a  high‑school  KIS  member  before  my  New Year’s  greeting.  The  title  of  the  presentation  was  “Local Appreciation  from  Global  Experiences”.  It  talked  about  how interaction with the JICA trainees and the students of the Akita Inaka  School  has  brought  life  to  the  local  community  and nurtured  an  interest  in  working  in  a  global  position.  The presentation was actually for a college entrance examination, to which I had been asked to give my endorsement as president of KIS.Consider  the word,  “global”.  I  believe  it  should be our  goal 

as  members  of  KIS  to  discover  “local”  treasures  through  a “global”  perspective  and  help  revitalize  the  community.  It makes  me  glad  to  see  young  members  spurred  by  their international experiences to help in revitalization.

世界のお祭り紹介事業　　ハロウインの合い言葉　言えたよ～　Celebrations from Around the World

We Can Say “Trick or Treat!”　

２０１９年１０月２６日（土）昨年に続き「子どもクラブ Skip」の教室を会場に開催されました。参加者は、総勢５９名でした。マジックやゲームを楽しんだ後、ハロウインの合言葉

「Trick or Treat」を大きな声で言いながらおやつをいただき笑顔いっぱいの子供たちでした。ＡＬＴのキンバリーさんは、魔女に扮しての参加（美しい

魔女でしたよ）ゲームを担当し、ボランティアで参加した中学生の泉君は、小さい子の世話やマジック等の協力で子供たちをサポートしてくれました。前日の夜の会場準備から多くのメンバーの協力のお陰で無事事業を終えることができましたハッピー　ハロウイン！

59  attendees  gathered  again  in  the  Skip  Children’s  Club classroom on October 26 (Sat) 2019 for the event.The  smiling  children  enjoyed  a  magic  show,  games,  and 

finished  off  proclaiming  “Trick  or  Treat!”  as  they  went  about collecting treats.Our  ALT  Kimberly  also  took  part  dressed  as  a  witch  (a 

beautiful one indeed), taking charge of the games while Izumi, our middle‑school volunteer, took care of the younger children and  showed  them magic  tricks.  The  event  went  off without  a hitch  thanks  to  the  help  of  many  members,  including  during set‑up the day before.Happy Halloween!

第２３回中高生海外体験旅行の参加者の申込みは、町内の中学生３名、引率者なしという寂しい結果でしたが、理事会において、規定に基づき参加者を決定しました。１１月１３日に説明会を開催し、今後の予定と準備につい

て協会から説明させていただきました。３月の出発まで３回の準備会を予定しています。

Despite  sparse  applications  for  the  23rd  Middle‑High School  Experience  Trip  Abroad  –  3  middle  school  students from the town and no chaperone – the KIS board has decided to move forward with the trip, in accordance with regulations.An  info  session  was  held  on  Nov  13  to  explain  the  trip 

process.  Three  preparation  sessions  are  planned  for  the  run up to their March Departure.

KIS 研修会について KIS Program at JMEC昨年に引き続き、金鉱研（金属鉱業研修技術センター）

で、KIS 研修会を開催していただけることになりました。今年は、「あきたエコタウンセンターの活動について」と

いう題名で、金属鉱業研修技術センター設立の経緯やエコタウンセンターの活動状況について講演していただくことになりました。日時：令和２年２月１９日（水）午後５時半～１時間程度
