Lagerwey's newestgeneration of direct drive turbines is ready for the futureand is challenging the old concepts in many aspects.Lagerwey’s long experience and innovative mind regardingdirect drive technology has resulted in an optimal next generation turbine called the L82. Reducing the amount of components and design simplicity are essential drivers in

    making durable quality.Technology

    The turbine has a permanent magnet generator withexcellent efciency in partial and full load. Together with afull power converter we are able to deliver a clean, gridfriendly power during worst case circumstances.

    Due to the variable speed principle, the turbine is the best choice when conditions get rough. An advanced electricalpitch system reduces the loads and guarantees a maximumenergy capture. The only moving part with a high loadcycle is the main bearing where Lagerwey deliberately engineered a comfortable safety margin regarding wear and loads. The automatic lubrication system is closely monitored and is very accessible for maintenance.

    The L82 has an hollow main shaft for direct access to thehub. This makes the design light together with high stiffnessto withstand the loads. All service can be done comfortably from the inner side of the turbine.

    The generator is closed from outside inuences and has anefcient passive cooling system that makes her withstandthe most severe environments (dust, coastal operation etc.).

    Transportation and installation cost have become mayor costs in the multi megawatt turbine class. Our concept withready to t assembly modules enables low installation cost and requires minimal crane capacity. The turbine can beerected with a 500 ton mobile crane.

    The L82 energy capture is very high, especially there where it matters, in partial load. In partial load the L82outperforms the existing drive train concepts by far.

    Design margins and low installation and maintenance cost make the turbine a low risk investment and combined withthe excellent energy capture allows for an attractive returnof investment. This is the turbine of choice for your projects.
