Topic: Idiomatic Expression
There are phrases in the English language which cannot be literally understood. Their real meaning cannotbe derived from the phrases themselves, but they can be interpreted differently. These phrases are calledidiomatic expressions.
Activity 1
Write a short paragraph about your favorite apps or application on your mobile phone using differentidiomatic expressions. Be able to use the appropriate kinds of sentences according to purpose as well. Doit in a one whole sheet of paper.
Topic: Conducting an Interview
Interview is a form of communication between the interviewer and interviewee. Interviewer refers to theone who asks questions or solicits information while interviewee is the one who provides the neededinformation.
Activity 2
Conduct a simple interview to your parents/guardian about their specialties like adobo, sinigang orpinakbet. Construct at least five questions to asked to your interviewee. Take note the steps andprocedures of doing his/her specialties. Don’t forget to make a small talk before you proceed with theactual interview. Write it in a one whole sheet of paper.
Topic: Persuasive Essay
Persuasive essay is an essay in which the author takes a stand either for or against on an issue. The maingoal of the author is to convince the readers to agree with his or her point of view or perspective.
Activity 3
Construct an insightful paragraph how can a disability be turned to an extraordinary ability. As a youngindividual, how can you show appreciation to those with disability? Write it in a one whole sheet ofpaper.
Topic: Different View Point
Point of view refers to the perspective from which the authors tells a story. The main points of view are:
First person point of view- the narrator is a character in the story.
Second person point of view- the narrator speaks directly to the readers. Pronoun you is used in thispoint of view.
Third person point of view- the narrator is an outside observer. It uses the pronouns he, she, it, andthey.
Activity 4
Using the different point of view,specially first person point of view, predict what will be the outcome orwhat will you do if your graduation rites will resume. Make a short list of it. Do it in a one whole sheet ofpaper.
Activity 5
Construct a short essay answering the question: If you would be given the chance, would you workabroad? Why or why not? Answer this in a one whole sheet of paper.
