La Columna de Padre Cristóbal

Este fin de semana celebramos el domingo de la Trinidad. El misterio de la

Trinidad siempre ha sido difícil de comprender y entender. Pero siempre es-

tamos llamados a comenzar con lo básico. ¿Qué es la Trinidad? Tres perso-

nas, Padre, Hijo y Espíritu Santo, pero un solo Dios. Para cualquiera que ha-

ya tenido matemáticas básicas, esto no tiene mucho sentido. ¿Cómo pueden

ser tres iguales uno y uno igual a tres? No funciona matemáticamente, pero

funciona con Dios.

Este es un diagrama que he usado muchas veces para explicar la compren-

sión más básica de la Trinidad.

Este diagrama siempre ha hecho un buen

trabajo explicando los fundamentos de la fe.

El Padre, el Hijo y el Espíritu Santo son to-

dos Dios, pero no hay uno al otro.

Sin embargo, la forma en que siempre me

gusta mirar este misterio es que la Trinidad

es una familia. Dentro de la Trinidad tene-

mos el Padre, el origen de todas las cosas, su

Hijo, Jesús, que es la Palabra y la Imagen del

Padre. Y el amor entre ellos es el Espíritu

Santo.

Al igual que en una familia regular con un padre y una madre, cuando los

dos se aman tanto, deben nombrar ese amor porque se ha convertido en otra

persona, otra alma inmortal. Así como el Espíritu Santo es el amor comparti-

do entre el Padre y el Hijo, la nueva vida dentro de una familia es también el

amor entre el entonces madre y padre. Por lo tanto, cada uno de nosotros,

hecho a imagen y semejanza de Dios, está hecho para la familia y hecho con

amor y por amor.

Esto puede ser un poco confuso, pero espero que tenga un poco más de com-

prensión acerca de la Trinidad. Dios bendiga su semana.

La procesión con el Santísimo Sacramento

será en una semana, Domingo 18, después de la

Misa de mediodía. Todos están invitados a par-

ticipar.

La Oficina del Apostolado Mariano celebrara la recitación del Santo Rosa-

rio el martes 13 de junio y el jueves 15 de junio a las 6:00 p.m. En el Jardín

de las Madres cerca de la Catedral de San José. Todos están invitados.

This weekend we celebrate Trinity Sunday. The mystery of the Trinity has al-ways been difficult to comprehend and understand. But we always are called to start with the basics. What is the Trinity? Three persons, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, but one God. For anyone who has ever had basic math, this doesn’t make a lot of sense. How can three equal one and one equal three? It doesn’t work mathematically but it does work with God. This is a diagram I have used many times to explain the most basic under-standing of the Trinity. This diagram has always done a good job of explaining the fundamentals of the faith. The Father, Son and Holy Spirit are all God but there are not each other. However, the way I always like to look at this mystery is that the Trinity is a family. Within the Trinity we have the Father, the origin of all things, his Son, Jesus, who is the Word and Im-age of the Father. And the love be-tween them is the Holy Spirit. Just like in a regular family with a fa-ther and a mother, when the two love each other so much, they must name that love because it has become another person, another immortal soul. Just as the Holy Spirit is the love shared between the Father and the Son, new life within a family is also the love between then mother and father. Therefore, each of us, as made in the image and likeness of God, are made for family and made by love and for love. This may be a little confusing but hopefully you have a little deeper under-standing about the Trinity. God bless your week.
