Dear Parents, Carers and Families

Head Lice We have a number of reported cases of head lice. Could you please check your child's hair for any evidence of head lice and please treat as soon as possible.

Children’s University Graduation Students who participated in the Children’s University program this year and gained their 30 hours will be travelling to Newcastle University next Thursday 8th November with their parents and family members to attend the graduation. This will be a fantastic experience and I'm looking forward to attending this event with these students.

FireSafe Program On Wednesday 14th November we will be getting a visit from NSW Rural Fire Service and hopefully the fire truck. We would love all students to please wear red for a gold coin donation to raise funds for our local Rural Fire Brigade.

Year 7 Orientation Day & Parent Info Session Year 6 students attending Chatham High School next year will have the opportunity to attend Chatham High School for a full day on Tuesday 4th December. Chatham High will also be holding an information night for parents and students on Monday 3rd December at 6pm.

Intensive Swimming Program Permission notes have gone home today for this year’s Intensive Swimming Program. The program will go for 2 weeks starting on Monday 26th November and will finish up on Friday 7th December. Students will travel to and from the pool each day by bus.

The cost for the full 10 days is $33 per child and a total of $66 per family if you have more than 2 children attending. This fee is to cover the cost of pool entry each day. Please read and sign the note attached and return to school as soon as possible along with payment.

School Swimming Carnival This year we will be holding our 2019 swimming carnival on Friday 7th December (our last day of the swimming program) for all students turning 8 or older next year. Please read and sign the note attached and return to school before Tuesday 4th December.

Whole School Big Day Out This year our whole school big day out will be at Forster Tuncurry. We will be participating in ten pin bowling, putt-putt and laser skirmish at Forster Entertainment Centre followed by a sausage sizzle lunch at Lone Pine Memorial Park at Tuncurry. Please return permission note attached and money by Wednesday 12th December.

Taree Pet Barn Class 2/3/4 would like to thank Taree Pet Barn for responding to our letters and providing us with new equipment for our chook house.

Lansdowne School P & C News The next Lansdowne school P & C meeting will be on Friday afternoon the 23rd November.

The meeting will commence at 2.00pm and is held in the school library.

Everyone is most welcome to come along and join in. This will be the last meeting for 2018.

The P & C are asking for donation of “Christmas style” items for the P & C hamper which will be one of our main prizes in the Christmas raffle.

Donations of food, drinks, gifts, decorations etc would be appreciated.

So far, we have three other prizes included in the raffle which will be meat vouchers from Bruce Lang’s Butchery.

We will be adding more prizes closer to Christmas.

The Christmas raffle is our main big fund-raising effort so please support it.

Tickets for the raffle will be going home next week.

Pavers Last chance to get a school paver which will be inserted into the school path.

You can purchase a paver with your family name or your children’s names as a permanent reminder of your time being involved in the Lansdowne community.

Order forms are available from the school. Each paver is $50.00. This is a fundraising effort of the P & C.

School Canteen News Friday specials commencing on 9th November single serve pizza’s $2.50 each.
