Kia ora nga whanau o Puketapu,

In this last week of Term 1, it is important to take a moment to look back on what we have achieved so far. It’s been a productive term, and easy to forget just how much learning has been done. Thank you and well done to everyone who has been part of the many activities this term. It is important for us to acknowledge the passion and commitment given by our team here at Puketapu: teachers, learning assistants, whanau, students and community all working together.

This term has been one of change and growth and that is set to continue. Thank you for your continued support with this.

Our roll is currently at 266, the highest it has been for some time, and will grow more during the year. One result of this is that we are currently recruiting for an additional full time teacher to join our Rimu Learning Team.

We look forward to introducing our new teacher to our school whanau, and also inviting whanau to see for themselves the exciting ways in which the Rimu Learning Team are developing.

In Week 2 of Term 2 we will be holding school wide goal setting hui, which will be another opportunity for home and school to strengthen learning partnerships. We will work together to understand where your child is at, where they're heading to and how we’re going to get there. (time and dates to follow)

Do keep talking with us - keeping the dialogue flowing is important to us. Start with your child’s class teacher or Learning Team, or make a time to come and talk with Corinne or I.

Our team here at Puketapu are really excited about the direction the school is heading and look forward to sharing the journey with you.

Kia pai to wiki … and enjoy the holiday break with your whanau.

Shaina Moratti Hi, I'm Shaina and I'm a learning assistant at Puketapu School. I grew up in Taranaki and after secondary school I moved to Christchurch where I studied Broadcasting. Since then I have worked in a several industries and have lived in different parts of the world. I started at Puketapu school in Term 4 last year after living in Australia for 3 years where I studied and worked as an Early Childhood Educator.
