Our organization envisions and dreams of establishing a network which contains many differently talented individuals who are willing to share not only their knowledge but also their life stories/experiences to others. 2) Vision: “To be a distinguished organization that contributes to mutual understanding between living books and readers.”“To share different types of stories and tips regarding academics and personal issues and pro-vide solutions accordingly.” “To promote diversity and help break prejudices that exist among individuals.”

3) Mission:“To create a human library network that allows people to share not only their educational knowledge but also their life stories/personal experiences.”

To accomplish this, the organization provides an internationally interactive network for its mem-bers through personal tutoring, access to tutors, online messengers that feature video chatting, and an online website. Living Library aspires to expand the traditional definition of a library and help members develop social and interactive skills/experiences vital in this 'glocal' world.

By definition, the term “glocal” refers to the individual, group, division, unit, organization, and com-munity which is willing and able to “think globally and act locally.”

What is the Human Library? http://humanlibrary.org/what-is-the-living-library.htmlThe Human Library is an innovative method designed to promote dialogue, reduce prejudices and encourage un-derstanding. The main characteristics of the project are to be found in its simplicity and positive approach. In its initial form the Human Library is a mobile library set up as a space for dialogue and interaction. Visitors to a Human Library are given the opportunity to speak informally with “people on loan”; this latter group being extremely varied in age, sex and cultural background. The Human Library enables groups to break stereotypes by challenging the most common prejudices in a posi-tive and humorous manner. It is a concrete, easily trans-ferable and affordable way of promoting tolerance and understanding.

The Human Library Organization Founded in Copenhagen, Denmark by the creators of the Hu-man Library with financial birth aid from the Nordic Council of Ministers youth committee, a global supporter of the Human Li-brary. The Human Library organization aims to unite active or-ganizers from all parts of the world and to promote the use of the Human Library in efforts to create more social cohesion and respect for diversity and human rights.

Through the global organizers forum and activities in countries around the world, the network will work to recruit an train new organisers, share experiences and further develop the method-ology. The network is an international non-profit organization and has ties to local organizations. Part of the mission is to try and encourage volunteer regional Human Library coordinators, to feed in the information, experiences and developments in their region. The organization will also serve as a marker for the principles of this methodology and an entry point for new orga-nizers.

The Human Library organization puts focus to staging introduc-tion activities in new territories. One by one, this is where we start organising a world of Living Libraries.

"In all corners of the globe, storytelling is a longstanding tradition with significance that's lost on no one.  It's vital to preserving culture.  It speaks of moments of pride.  It speaks of moments of injustice.  It offers an opportunity to learn.  Most importantly, it inspires us to create change for the future."         - Craig Kielburger and Marc Kiel-burger
