Securing the Leakage.1) Stop the main engine promptly.2) Stop oil pumps on the leaking line.3) Slow the leakage or deflect it from hot surface

with old blanket or rag.

Report the leakage to the space supervisor and/or bridge.

Securing the Leakage.

1) Slow the leakage or deflect it from hot surface with old blanket or rag.

2) Change over to another generator and stop the relevant one.

3) If oil leaking at a high rate, or an urgent response is required as in the case of the outbreak of a fire, press the emergency stop button for the generator.

Report the leakage to the space supervisor and/or bridge.

Securing the Leakage.

1) Stop the main turbine promptly.

2) Shut down oil leaks. Otherwise, prevent the spray of oil by shielding.

3) Stop the main steam line to cut off main steam as a heat source.

4) Remove the insulation soaked with oil.

Discovery

* Maintain the engine room at positive pressure in order to remove smoke and heat; never make it negative.

Start Initial Fire Fighting

1) Fight the fire with water fog.

2) Fight the fire with portable fire extinguishers.*Foam and dry chemical are probably the two most effective extinguishing agents available for use against combustible or flammable liquid hydrocarbon fire.
