Our first whole school assembly last Wednesday was a fabulous start for our students who returned to school and immediately demonstrated their understanding of our school values – Respect, Responsibility and Learning. It will mean some changes to the existing services enabling the buses to cover a greater area, more efficiently. There will be a change to the route on services 272 and 282 in the mornings and services 106 (bus 1) and 282 (bus 4) in the afternoons beginning Monday 13 May 2013. Staffing Update At the moment we have two classroom teaching positions that will be filled by DEC staffing shortly. The first is the vacancy created by Craig Atkins’ promotion and the second is the vacancy created by Claire Callinan’s promotion to Assistant Principal here at EPS. Until these positions are filled, all Kindergarten classes will remain as they are and Mrs Sian Brown will be teaching 5/6A. Shortlisting and interviews for the Principal position will take place over the next couple of weeks. News regarding these positions will be communicated as soon as possible. NAPLAN The annual NAPLAN breakfast has been organised again this year so that our students have the opportunity to begin the days of NAPLAN assessments in a calm, relaxed and friendly way. A huge thankyou to Mrs Parsons, Mrs Haley and our wonderful canteen team, for providing this wonderful opportunity. Good luck to all our Year 3 and 5 students next week. Have a wonderful week everyone and remember – “A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step” – Lao Tzu
