The Elders[edit]
The lders were Loric "arde that acted as the protectors and4or politicians of Lorien. $riginally there
were ten lders, but due to the +ecret ?arsE the conflict between the Loric and the :ogadorians, thetenth lder had supposedly died during this time. +oon after the +ecret ?ars and when peace
pre)ailed, the lders disco)ered the Phoeni +tones, this soon rewarded Lorien with the Legacies
and the himaera came out of hidingE but there was also a prophecy that an unknown e)il that will
destroy and take Lorien by surprise. This soon led to Pittacus LoreAs e)acuation protocol for the nine
Loric children that were supposed to assume the Legacies and <nheritance that will eceed their
predecessorsE this would happen when the time comes. ?hen the time was near the lders left
LorienE Pittacus Lore at this time went to seek out :alcolm "oode, he told :alcolm e)erything he is
needed to do. +oon :alcolm describes in The 'all of 'i)e that Pittacus Lore died later that night
from fatal battle wounds. <t is re)ealed in The 6e)enge of +e)en that +etrakus 6a, the leader of the:ogadorians and sworn enemy to the nine "arde is the tenth lder of Lorien that AdiedA during the
+ecret ?ar. <t is suggested that each of the nine Loric children will assume the <nheritance and
Legacies of one of the lders, therefore one of the nine Loric children will assume the title of Pittacus
Lore. the original Pittacus LoreE the immortal of about 10,000 years old, has apparently been li)ing
on arth for the past 1! years and is the predicted to be the author of the books, many other
Pittacus Lores after him ha)e taken on the title as becoming an lder with eight other Loric. :any
belie)e that they do not li)e up to his name and some belie)e that they eceed the original by far.
The Pittacus Lore that :alcolm had talked was most likely to ha)e been the Pittacus Lore that had
assumed the title at that time, it is also hinted that #umber ightAs friend 9e)dan might ha)e beenthe original Pittacus. +etrakus 6a was banished from the lders and Lorien for his psychotic nature
and plans for the future of Lorien, he soon changed his genetic code to look more like a :ogadorian,
so that they would accept his plans for the future. Pittacus Lore ga)e +etrakus 6a the purplish scar
around his neck once the lders found out about 6aAs plansE Pittacus and 6a were able to
communicate with each other.

• Pittacus Lore - The leader of the Lorien ldersE it is said he had Aall LegaciesA, meaning he
had e)ery Legacy known to Loric. #umber 'our, #ine and4or ight were originally thought to be
Pittacus Lore due to them being able to communicate through dreams to +etrakus 6a, asPittacus did. <t is most likely that 'our or #ine are Pittacus.
• Loridas - Loridas was an 7eternus like lla and 6a, the Loric to assume the title of Loridas
supposedly ga)e his life to get lla off Lorien was pro)en to be a lie told by rayton, it is
unknown who will take the role of Loridas out of the nine "arde. <t is re)ealed in The 6e)enge of
+e)en that +etr;kus 6a was also cast from Lorien and also has 7eternus. <t is not yet re)ealed
which lder +etr;kus 6a was, but it is highly likely that he is really Loridas.
• +etrakus 6a - 6a was the tenth lder of Lorien before he was banished. 3e is an 7eternus
like lla and Loridas, and is the grandfather of lla and father of 6aylan. )en though lla is not
apart of the ldersA plan to sa)e Lorien and arth, she will most likely assume the role, Legacies
and <nheritance of +etrakus 6a.
The Garde[edit]
7s theyAre described in I Am Number Four , the Garde are the protectors of Lorien and the ones who,
in their teenage years, de)elop Legacies I superhuman powers to aid them in defense. ?hen
Lorien is conDuered by the :ogadorians, nine "arde children are sent away from their planet to
arth, as well as a tenth being sent separately, and before the original nine are separated, a charmis cast upon them that protects them from harm by the :ogadorians, and ensures that they must be
killed in order, one through nine, as long as they are kept apart. <t is re)ealed in The Power of
Six that they were chosen by Lorien itself to follow in the footsteps of the ten original elders. <n The
'allen Legacies, 7damus counts how many of the "arde were boys and girls, but #umber $ne as a
ghost finds him and he ne)er re)eals how many. 5ased on e)idence throughout the first three books
and their preDuels, it is assumed that fi)e of the ten "arde are female and fi)e are male.
<f nature is left alone to run its course uninterrupted, the ten garde will e)entually grow into legacies
that will far eceed that of the original ten elders.
Number One[edit]
Number One, a 1&-year-old girl, was killed in :alaysia, according to the back co)er of the no)el, I
Am Number Four . <n the film, $ne was mentioned but not seen as she died when #umber 'our was
at the age of nine. 3er history is re)ealed in I am Number Four: The Lost Files: The Fallen Legacies.

$ne was disco)ered by the :ogadorians as her picture was taken by the police, as well as her ankle
mark, after she attempted shoplifting to impress a guy. +he was known to be rebellious as said by
3ilde. +he was followed by the :ogs to :alaysia, where she met her end. +he de)eloped her first
legacy, but it was too late as her telekinesis was off and earthDuake powers did not last long,
because she often skipped training lessons to spend time with ?ade, a boy she liked. +he was killedwhen a :og came up from behind and stabbed her with a sword. 3er deceased body was taken by
the :ogs to infiltrate her memories to find any information on the other "arde members. 7damus,
the son of a :ogadorian "eneral was selected for the infiltration due to his similar age with $ne.
9uring 7damusAs infiltration, $ne appears as a ghost and controls what memories 7damus sees.
7fter 7damusA three-year coma, $ne still appears as a ghost in 7damusA mind. +he con)inces
7damus to switch sides and try to help #umber Two and #umber Three although both 7damusAs
attempts fail. +he continues to appear to 7damus, who sur)i)ed the e)ents of JThe 'allen LegaciesJ,
in the JLost 'ilesH The +earch for +amJ but her ghostly image is slowly fading away. +he tries to
con)ince 7dam to find the "arde but fails to con)ince him. ?hen her condition worsens 7damattempts to sa)e her by returning to his kind in 7shwood. 7fter a failed attempt to be infiltrated into
$neAs memories, 7dam finally succeeds after $ne con)inced him to Jgo out swingingJ. $ne re)eals
that there was no way to sa)e her and that she needed him to see the real side of his family so that
he can go Boin the "arde. +he also gi)es 7damus her legacy and shares a kiss with him after he
professed his lo)e for her, strongly hinting that she has feelings for him also, and fades away fore)er.
<n The Forgotten Ones, her memory li)es on through 7damus, who misses her and acknowledges
that while she maybe gone, he will fight on for her. +he was known to ha)e tan skin and long blond
hair, which 7damus notices as he Jchecks her outJ. 3er Legacies includeH
• arthDuakes - <n the 'allen Legacies, she created seismic Duakes while battling the
:ogadorians.
• Telekinesis - Like all "arde, $ne can mo)e obBects with her mind.
• nhancement - 7ll "arde possess enhanced physical strength, speed, reflees, endurance
and durability.
Number Two[edit]
Number Two, or Maggie Hoyle, a twel)e-year-old Loric girl who is known to ha)e glasses, freckles
and reddish brown hair, created an <nternet message in an attempt to find the others, likely in
desperation after her 2pan was killed by :ogadorians. 5ecause of this, the :ogadorians found
and murdered her in London, ngland. +he was too young to ha)e had legacies. <n The Power of
Six , numbers 'our, +i, and their friend +am talk about #umber TwoAs post. The post read J#ine,
now eight, are the rest of you out thereKJ. +i says that she and her 2pan 8atarina responded

saying, J?e are hereJ. +econds later, Two dies and +i and her 2pan flee for fear of being caught.
'our also re)eals that his 2pan 3enri saw the post and tried to hack into the computer to delete the
message to sa)e Two, but he was too late. +e)en almost responded, but decided against it, wisely
as it turns out. ?hen the posting was deleted Bust after Two was killed, they had assumed the
:ogadorians deleted it. 5ut in the 'allen Legacies, it is re)ealed that it was 7damus +utekh, a young:ogadorian boy who tried to help the Loric, who deleted the blog post to sa)e the other Loric who
responded, but sadly it did not work as +i and her 2pan were caught. 7damus had tried to help
Two by posing as a Loric. 3owe)er, e)en when Two learns that he is a :ogadorian, she doesnAt
attack him because she belie)es he is there to help her. 7damusA brother, <)anick finds Two and
7damus Fhe belie)es that 7damus was trying to trick TwoG and stabs Two in the throat with a dagger,
killing her.
)en though she was only twel)e years old, Two displayed any addiction to reading all kinds of
books, in JThe 'allen LegaciesJ, when 7damus is trying to rescue her she Duestions him on a lot of
books, 7damus then finds in her packed bag more books. This might ha)e been the start up to
Legacies such as 3eightened <ntuition or +uper-<ntelligence.
Number Three[edit]
Number Three, or Hannu, a fourteen-year-old Loric boy and the youngest of the original nine Loric
who were sent to arth, appears at the beginning of the first book being hunted down by the
:ogadorians in 8enya and is killed soon after the death of his 2pan. <n The Fallen Legacies, it is
re)ealed that Three was found when someone noticed his scars on his ankle. 3annu greets 7damus
and <)annik in the 7frican )illage he li)es near and says he has been in 8enya his whole life,
meaning that he and his epan stayed in 8enya e)en after #umbers $ne and Two died, although
this may Bust be a co)er story. 7damus tries to tip off 3annu when he recognies 3annu as a Loric
due to his high socks which co)er his scars, but <)annik interrupts 7damusAs attempt when he is
in)ited to play basketball by 3annu. <n I Am Number Four =ohn says that Three was completely off
the grid when the :ogs found him. Three and his 2pan are killed when the :ogadorians ambush
their shack in the middle of the night. 3is 2pan was killed when he in)estigated outside when he
heard a noise. Three manages to get out of the shack Bust as the :ogs got in. 3e ran at incredible
speed while a Piken chased him. 3e made an amaing leap o)er a cliff onto the other side, but the
"eneral was waiting there. 3e choked, then stabbed Three in the chest. Three was defiant until the
end, telling the "eneral he would ne)er win. <n The Fallen Legacies, it is re)ealed that <)anick,
7damusAs adopti)e brother, was the one who saw ThreeAs scars, which led the "eneral to him.

• Possible +uper 7gility because e)en the Piken couldnAt catch up to him and he was said to
ha)e made impossible leaps and turns, but it is not pro)en. That could ha)e Bust been because
of his training.
• nhancement - 7ll "arde possess enhanced physical strength, speed, reflees, endurance
and durability. Three used it to Bump o)er the ra)ine in the book.
<t is unknown what other legacies he had.
#umber Three is portrayed by "reg Townley in the film adaptation.
Number Four [edit]
Number Four , or John Smith, is 1*-years old Fas of The Power of Six G. 3e is the protagonist and
narrator of the first no)el, I Am Number Four , half of The Power of Six and The Rise of Nine, and
one third of The 'all of 'i)e and The 6e)enge of +e)en, =ohn is #umber 'our in the seDuence
protecting the ten Lorien children li)ing and hiding on arth. 3e is described as being a fit, )ery
attracti)e young man with dark blonde hair. 3e has three circular scars on his right ankle,
symboliing the three dead Lorien children, and a scar similar to the pendant all the Lorien children
wear, signifying the charm that protects them. =ohn falls in lo)e with high school Bunior +arah 3art in
the first book. 'our also has a friend named+am "oode who tra)els with him and +i in a search for
his father who he belie)es to be a prisoner of the :ogadorians. 3is 2pan was named 3enri, who
dies at the end of the first book.
<n The Power of Six he de)elops feelings for number +i as well, although these subside in the third
book, and his feelings for +arah take o)er. 7t the end of the second book, 'our and #ine go #orth in
an attempt to find +i Fand +e)en and Ten and rayton, although they donAt know that Ten, +e)en
and rayton are with +i at the time, as she went to sa)e them from a few hundred :ogsG. <t is
re)ealed in the third book that he may be the "arde who inherits all of Pittacus LoreAs powers, with
#ine and ight as the other two possibilities since they all ha)e )isions about +etrakus 6a, the :og
leader.
<n the The 'all of 'i)e, he locates 'i)e and brings him to the penthouse. 7fter 'i)e takes all the other
"arde to 'lorida, =ohn dreams a )ision of the future where the :ogs rule arth with lla Fas
+etrakus 6aAs successorG and 'i)e Fre)ealing him as a traitorG. 7s he wakes, the :ogs attack and
take lla. 7fter the fight, =ohn meets 7dam. )en though =ohn is suspicious of him, 3e takes +amAs
and :alcolmAs word about 7dam and recruits him.

<n the 6e)enge of +e)en, 3e leads 7dam, +am, :alcolm, and the himera to attack 7shwood
states. 3e fought the "eneral and was almost killed by him F7dam sa)ed him by killing his own
fatherG. =ohn gains more respect for 7dam and con)inces him to keep his dadAs sword. ?hen the
remained "arde arri)ed, 7gent ?alker appears to Boin the "roup and takes =ohn, +am, and #ine to
#M to intercept a rogue senator, but only to find him betrayed by the :og enhancements. =ohnuses his 3ealing power to full etent to sa)e the senator to try to get him to epose +etrakus 6a.
3owe)er, the fleet arri)es. =ohn and #ine arri)e at +etrakus 6aAs presentation and eposes him for
what he is. 7fter 'i)e tells =ohn about the charm placed on lla, =ohn pre)ents some federal agents
hurting +etrakus 6a. 7lso, =ohn was unable to rescue lla, but was spared by +etrakus 6a for two
reasonsH 1G for helping him from the 'eds and !G to watch the arth J5N6#J. Later, =ohn and +am
try to make their way out of #M with some sur)i)ors. ?hen a Piken almost killed =ohn, +am sa)ed
him by using his own newly de)eloped telekinesis.
3is Legacies includeH
• Lumen FPyrokinesisG- 'ourAs first legacyH The ability to produce fire, heat, and light from the
users hands, and a resistance to heat, fire, and burns throughout the entire body. 'ourAs
grandfather had this power. <n recent books, heAs been using it to create fireballs, etc. at
enemies.
• 7nimal Telepathy - 'ourAs third legacyH The ability to communicate with animals. 7lthough
technically his first legacy, he disco)ered this Legacy later, near the end of the book one.
• 6etrocognition - 7bility to see e)ents of the past, F'our has shown this ability a couple of
times, e.g. seeing the destruction of Lorien, but it is unconfirmed whether or not this is one his
LegaciesG.
• Precognition - 7bility to see the future F'our has shown this ability a couple of times, though
it is unconfirmed whether or not this is one of his LegaciesG.
• 3ealing - 3e de)elops this legacy during the fight in The Rise of Nine. ?hen +arah and lla
were shot and dying, he concentrates on how badly he does not want +arah or lla to die and
heals them. <n The 6e)enge of +e)en when he is healing the +ecretary of 9efense, he focused
his healing legacy so much he started glowing.
• Telekinesis - Like all "arde, 'our can mo)e obBects with his mind.
• nhancement - 7ll "arde possess enhanced physical strength, speed, reflees, endurance
and durability.

Number Five[edit]
Number Five is a boy and is about the same age as 'our.
<n Rise of Nine #umber 'i)e is seen by +i in a fantasy that she creates while in an abandoned
grocery store in #ew :eico, desperate for food. +he sees 'our, 'i)e, +e)en, ight, #ine and Ten
all sitting with her at a large table as she prepares a meal for them all. 'i)e is seen socialiing with
#ine, talking about the places they had been and seen. Later 'i)e gets up and retrie)es a chocolate
cake for all of them to eat. 'i)e was likely on a plane tra)eling o)er 5rail, landed in =amaica, and
might be crossing the 7tlantic $cean.
<n JThe 'all of 'i)eJ, 'i)e is found after burning his symbol into a corn field. 7fter reuniting with the
"arde, 3e tells them he buried his chest on an island off the cost of 'lorida in the )erglades, so 3e,
+i, +e)en, ight, and #ine go to retrie)e it. $nce there, 'i)e re)eals himself to be a traitor, ha)ing
been working with the :ogadorians e)er since his epan died of a disease. 3e attempts to kill #ine
but instead kills ight Fwho ha)e teleported in front of #ine to sa)e himG by stabbing him through the
heart, fulfilling the prophecy which was thought to be a)oided. 3e was then attacked by +e)en, who
de)elops a new Legacy, and takes out his eye. 3is current whereabouts are unknown.
<n 'i)eAs Legacy, he is thirteen years old with a skinny build and long hair. 3e li)es on an island with
7lbert whose real name is 6ey, and e)entually de)elops the power of Telekinesis. ?hen 6ey dies,
'i)e stays on the island for a while until he sets sail. 3is destination is for :artiniDue, but he ends upflying to +outh 5each, 'lorida. 3e meets a cute girl named mma and they work together as
pickpockets. )entually, they meet a :ogadorian ally named than. than makes 'i)e Fwho is under
the alias of odyG and mma work for him. $ne day, a Bob in a warehouse goes bad and 'i)e uses
his telekinesis to attack mmaAs brother and a few other men. mma knocks 'i)e out with a pipe,
then 'i)e is taken under the care of than. 'i)e and than spend the net year li)ing in a luurious
mansion. $ne day 'i)e disco)ers that than is working with the :ogadorians. than re)eals that
they ha)e #ine in JcustodyJ. 'i)e later goes to an '5< building with than the net day. 3e meets a
:ogadorian who gi)es him a folder with the picture of the person he must kill to Boin the
:ogadorians. The book ends there.
<n 'i)eAs 5etrayal, the person he must kill is #umber #ine in order to pro)e himself. 3e is promised
greatnessH a commander among them, to be the ruler of #orth 7merica FN+ and anadaG, and to be
the J6ight 3and of the 5elo)ed LeaderJ. 3e was e)en tested when he was made to kill mma, but
still passed Fletting her li)eG when he decided to make use out of her brother. 9uring #ineAs escape
with 'our, than was se)erely inBured from green la)a. 7lso, than is belie)e to ha)e helped in

#ineAs escape, so +etrakus 6a has him kill than to pro)e himself. 7fter killing than, 'i)e makes
preparations to infiltrate the remaining "arde. 7lso, he finds a letter from than stating that heAll
probably be already dead by know when his usefulness is up and that 'i)e should continue to li)e
onE putting himself first before anybody else, including +etrakus 6a. 7t the end, it is re)ealed he
plans to get the other "arde to Boin, ecept for #ine, whom he holds a personal )endetta againstsince his escape caused thanAs death. 'i)e is regarded the :ogAs Jmost )aluable assetJ, their
secret weapon Fdouble agent, etc.G and the 6ight 3and of +etrakus 6a.
<n JThe 6e)enge $f +e)enJ, 'i)e is first seen depressed o)er ightAs death while +i, :arina, and
#ine were in)isible. 3e somehow knew they were there, saying heAs sorry. 3e allowed them to take
ightAs body, killing ommander 9eltoch in the process. 3e later arri)ed on the 7nibus with +etrakus
6a and lla Falso re)ealed to be llaAs JbetrothedJG. 3e was used as a guinea pig to test out llaAs
9reyen power. 6ight before arri)ing in #M, 'i)e got tired and sick of this conflict and tried to get
lla off the ship and run away. 3owe)er, +etrakus 6a intercept and fought him, dubbing him his
greatest and last mistake. 9uring the fight, he was using his terna without his two balls, stating his
missing eye is now being used for storage capabilities. ?hen lla used his Telekinesis to almost
throw +etrakus 6a off the ship, 'i)e took the chance to stab him Fin his shoulderG, but it turns out
+etrakus 6aAs charm on lla transfer all inBuries to her. +etrakus 6a grabs him, beats him up and
throw him off the ship. 'i)e reco)ers in arri)es where =ohn and #ine epose +etrakus 6a, knowing
what will happen to lla if they try to kill him. 7fter telling 'our, 3e and #ine were last seen fighting
each other at the end of 6e)enge of +e)en.

begins. <t is later re)ealed that she was once called :aren liabeth, though 'our and +am still call

Number Seven, or Marina, is a few months short of 1-years old and she is described as being tall

stopped mo)ing around, unlike the other 2pan-"arde pairs. They ha)e li)ed at the +anta Teresa
con)ent in +pain for the past 10 years. +he becomes best friends with se)en-year-old lla in The
Power of Six when lla was brought to the monastery. The :ogadorians apparently located her long
ago, as =ohn finds a note saying that she was being Jtrailed in +painJ, but due to the number-order,
she could not be attacked until the charm was broken or $ne through +i were killed. +e)en
belie)ed that 'our was a "arde when she read about the Paradise 3igh +chool eplosion. 3er
beliefs are confirmed by +i. ?hen she and her 2pan are attacked by :ogadorians, Ten andrayton re)eal themsel)es as Lorics and +i arri)es to help fight off the :ogadorians. +e)enAs
2pan howe)er is killed along with 3ector, a human +e)en befriended who attempted to help her
escape. +e)en, +i, lla and rayton intend to find the other "arde members and their himaeras,
before they go to 7merica to find 'our and #ine.
<n The Rise of Nine the gang is re)ealed to be tra)eling to the 3imalayas, where they disco)er
#umber ight. :arina finds him attracti)e and ends up ha)ing feelings for him, hinting a lo)e interest
for her. They disco)er a ca)e of drawings that re)eal past and future e)ents, one of which showing
#umber ight being stabbed in the chest, which upsets :arina. 7fter rayton is killed by an ambushby :ogadoriens, ight uses his teleporting ability and escape, but end up separating from +i in the
process, appearing in two different areas. They met up with 'our and #ine in #ew :eico where
they find the entrance to a secret base and try to rescue +i from +etrakus 6a, but are tricked by
him as he takes the form of +i and stabs ight in the chest, causing one of the drawings to come
true. $nce getting back their powers from 6a, :arina is able to sa)e ight from death and she

3imalayas of northern <ndia. 3eAs already de)eloping powers, such as Telekinesis, as he was seen
mo)ing rocks with his mind. ight is one of the most powerful Loric so far, after #ine, and has deep
emerald green eyes with long-ish, black, curly hair. 3e had to learn how to control legacies on his
own due to his 2pan dying. Locals think heAs the 3indu god Oishnu reincarnated, apparently
because he can change his appearance into that of beasts and other beings. rayton also mentions
that he could be the chosen one who inherited Pittacus LoreAs powers thus all of the legacies and
can kill +etrakus 6a. <t is said that Pittacus Lore had J7ll LegaciesJ and was able to take on +etrakus
6a Fwhich resulted in 6aAs scar on his throatG. ight was originally named =oseph and alsopossesses a heightened intuition which acts as a sith sense. FThis is shown in The Rise of
Nine when ight can feel that +i is in #ew :eico, though it is unconfirmed whether or not this is
one of his Legacies yetG.
<n the 'all of 'i)e, ight goes with 'i)e, +i, +e)en, and #ine to retrie)e 'i)eAs chest. 7fter 'i)e is
re)ealed to be a traitor, a fight ensues and ight, teleporting between 'i)e and #ine, protects #ine
from 'i)eAs attack, but is stabbed in the heart, killing him. This fulfills the prophecy that was belie)ed
to be a)oided, he is after encased in a solid block of ice by :arina, when sheAd tried to heal him. 3e
is the first member of the garde to die out of order.

Number Nine, or Stanley $orthington, is roughly the same age as #umber 'our. #ine is one of
the most powerful of the ten. 3e is rescued by 'our after being held in capti)ity for around a year in
a :ogadorian base in ?est Oirginia near the end of The Power of Six , which incidentally is the samebase where +i was imprisoned. #ine is described as taller than 'our, and muscular, with long, dark
hair. 3eAs also )ery familiar and knowledgeable about the inheritance his chest contains. 9isplaying
hints of an aggressi)e nature, coupled with a thirst for re)enge against the :ogadorians, #umber
#ine operates with a ferocity that 'our did not know the Loric possessed. #ine and 'our intend to
head #orth to #ineAs JhideoutJ in hicago. #ineAs 2panAs name is +andor. #ine uses a pipe-staff.
<n The Lost 'ilesH #ineAs Legacy it is re)ealed that when #ine and his 2pan first arri)ed on arth
they tried mo)ing around a lot sticking to small motels but were always found by the :ogadorians.
+andor then decides to use their immense wealth from the Bewels that they brought from Lorien to
li)e in luury and hide in plain sight. #ine and +andor were li)ing in hicago in a penthouse suite at
the top of the =ohn 3ancock enter . <n their suite #ine trains almost non-stop as he does not go to
school. #ine had fallen in lo)e with a girl named :addy. :addy howe)er was working for the
:ogadorians who had found #ine after one of their scouts disappeared in his area. :addy was
attempting to rescue her parents after they had been abducted by the :ogadores after her father

+andorAs urging, kills his 2pan.
<n The Power of Six #ine is able to escape when 'our and +am break into the base and set him
free. <n The Rise of Nine #ine and 'our team up to sur)i)e and possibly find the others. #ine and
'our struggle to get along due to the differences they ha)e. They take shelter at #ineAs old
safehouse in hicago and later Bourney to a secret base in #ew :eico. #ine is shown at the end of
the book fighting +etrakus 6a, the leader of the :ogadoriens, and finally meeting the entire "arde,
ecept for 'i)e, where they all swear to kill 6a the net time they see him.

themsel)es as Loric and that lla is #umber Ten. They defeat the :ogadorians with the help of
#umber +i. The book ends with lla, +i, +e)en and rayton intending to find the other "arde

sent to arth in a human-built spaceship which her grandad, one of LorienAs oldest and proudest

Hilde&Hessu is the epan of #umber $ne. 3er original Lorien name is 3essu. +he was an older
woman, in her fifties, and always was strict. They had to relocate from place to place some many
times because of $neAs rebellious attitude. 3ilde decided to lea)e 7merica after $ne was arrested
for shop lifting and headed to :alaysia. +he was the one who woke $ne to tell her that the :ogs
arri)ed. +he was a good martial artist but was Duickly o)erwhelmed and shot in the chest by a
:ogadorian. 3er death allowed $ne awaken her arthDuake abilities. 3ildeAs last words were to run

Conrad Hoyle[edit]
Conrad is #umber TwoAs epan. 3e and his "arde were li)ing in <reland but soon had to lea)e due
to some unknown reasons. Then the "eneral and his :ogs found them after onrad killed a :og
scouting troop sent after him by the "eneral and burned down their house in the +cottish 3ighlands.
3e headed for London, ngland and met Two at a safehouse. The :ogs found his bus and started
to attack, and despite onrad ha)ing two +:"As with him, he is e)entually killed. 3e and Two are
possibly related, him either being her older brother or father.
Henri&'randon[edit]
Henri is 2pan of =ohn +mith, or #umber 'our. 3is original Lorien name was 5randon and was a
2pan at the Lorien 9efense 7cademy. 3e was in lo)e with =ulianne, who was also his wife. ?ith
=ulianne, they had a child on his home planet of Lorien, but he left them to protect =ohn when Lorien
was destroyed. 3e was =ohnAs 2pan and also trained and taught him as his legacies formed. 3enri
is like a father to =ohn since he was forced to lea)e his family behind on Lorien as well. 3enri dies at
the end of the first book, protecting =ohn from the :ogadorians. <n the second book, it is re)ealed
from a letter that 3enri wrote, that 3enri knew +amAs father, :alcolm "oode, and that :alcolm was
the whole reason for him and 'our coming to Paradise.
<n The Last "as Of Lorien, 3enri recruits +andor, #ineAs future cepan, to attend the Lorien 9efense
7cademy. 3e shows back up at the end of the book, helping the 2pans and the "arde escape
Lorien as it is being in)aded by the :ogadorians. 3e is the one who chose +andor to be #ineAs
2pan. 3e is e)en the one helps train #ine and 'our together while +andor goes through some

briefcase of weapons. ?hen +e)en first met rayton she mistook him for a :ogadorian because he
was always watching her and misread his clue concerning his book with APittacusA in the title and the

The Mogadorians are the main antagonists of the series. :ogadorians are aliens from the planet of

intels )iolence and respect for the strong. They often say J5y 6aJ in respect to their leader +etr;kus
6a. :ogadore is twice the sie of Lorien and around a fifth of arthAs sie. They hunt the "arde out
of fear. They are planning on conDuering the arth after destroying the "arde.
7ccording to descriptions by 8atarina and 3enri, :ogadorians soldiers4scouts ha)e white albino-like
skin, black eyes, and serrated teeth, which are actually )at-born4clones, made by +etrakus 6a and
his scientists to increase the :ogadorian population problem and made stronger, faster, but not as
smart as a Trueborn :og. Trueborn :ogadorians are effecti)ely identical in appearance to humans.
7ll are gregarious and share a predilection for cities and crowded places. The :ogadorians are

he witnesses $neAs death and enters $neAs memories he has a change in heart. <n $neAs memories,
he not only sees her past but is )isited by $neAs ghost. 3e comes to see how e)il his father, the
"eneral, and his kind is and sees the aftermath of Lorien. 7fter a three-year coma from the memory
infiltration, he learns of the second "arde who was found in London and decides to try to help Two
escape. 3owe)er, he fails as she is killed by <)anick. $)er the net few years the third "arde is

by a local and mistaken to be a )olunteer. 3e spent a few months there doing )olunteer works. 3edecided to return to 7shwood when $ne told him she is fading away as he was desperate not to lose
his only best friend, the girl he lo)es. $nly his mother greeted him with lo)e, while the "eneral and
8elly, his sister, know about his betrayal and treat him like a hostile. 3e makes a deal with his father
to make himself useful in a week, or else he will be killed. 3e was then assigned to +ur)eyor work.
3e meets 9r. arkos, 9r. 7nuAs successor who impro)ed the mind transfer technology. +eeing this a
perfect opportunity, he created a ruse that would make his father gi)e permission to arkos to turn
him into his lab rat. <t was re)ealed that :alcolm "oode is ali)e and has no memory of who or where
he is. 9uring the first attempt, when 3ilde was killed, he felt something he ne)er felt before. 7nd as it
happened, he felt the floor shaking. 3e woke up back in the lab. 9enying he remembered anything
from the eperiment, arkos re)ealed that he can etract the information e)en if he didnAt remember
it. 3e would Bust ha)e to kill him, but he has to ask the "eneralAs permission. 3e then created
another ruse again when $ne grew weaker. 5efore arkos could kill him, he wounds the doctor and
awakens :alcolm "oode and performs the eperiment. 9uring his dream-like state, he lets out a
massi)e shockwa)e causing an implosion inside the underground comple. $ne transfers her
powers to 7dam and re)eals that there was no way to sa)e her and that it was all about con)incing
him how e)il the :ogadorians are and that he needs to find the "arde. 9uring the emotional
moment, 7dam professes his lo)e for $ne and they share a kiss before she disappears fore)er. 3e
awakens with :alcolm "oode by his side and they band together to sur)i)e. $)er time :alcolm
becomes his mentor. They go back to Paradise, $hio to search for +am only to re)eal that he has
Boined the Loric cause and went with the "arde. 7dam suggests that they go to a secret go)ernment
base in #ew :eico, which he found out about back in 7shwood. +neaking into the go)ernment

uses his earthshaking powers to escape the rubble. 3e disco)ers a young :ogadorian commander

they lea)e the net day. ?hile trying across #ew :eico, they stop in a small town, where they steal
money from a thief and manage to get themsel)es to a train station. 6ealiing that they are beingfollowed, 7dam buys tickets for another destination and smuggles himself, 9ust, and 6e on a train
for another city they need to go to. 7s they Bourney across the country, 6e and 7dam grow closer
together, while they do show conflict as well, and 7dam asks 6e if he e)er Duestions what they do
is wrong, only to earn more conflict from him. $nce arri)ing in the city they want, 7dam is attacked
by :ogs and belie)es that 6e has betrayed him. ?ith the help of his powers and 9ust, he manages
to defeat them but is knocked out by one last sur)i)ing :og and is sa)ed by 9ust. ?aking up in a
stolen car, 6e is re)ealed to ha)e sa)ed him and ne)er betrayed him, although he did hide from the
fight. ?hen 7dam asks why he is helping him, 6e replies that he doesnAt know but that he is only
fulfilling what he promised and that while he does like 7dam, he also still belie)es in the :ogAscause. ?hen arri)ing at Palm <sland, disguised as a prisoner, 6eicus fulfills his promise and breaks
7damus out and leads him to the himaeras. 7dam then escapes with the himaeras and 9ust,
while 6e stays behind to reBoin his fellow :ogadorians. 7t the end of the story, 7dam, along with
9ust and the other chimeras, dri)es for hicago after learning the "arde ha)e been found. 3e calls
+am and warns him that the :ogs are coming. 7dam remembers $ne and begins to miss her.
6ealiing that $ne is truly gone, he finally allows himself to let her go, while honoring her by keeping
on fighting.
<n JThe 'all of 'i)eJ, 7dam manages to warn +am about the :ogadorian attack and rushes o)er to
hicago to help the "arde. ?hen he gets there, the fight is o)er and the :ogs are all gone, thanks
to 'our gi)ing them lla. 'our mistakes him for a soldier and is about to kill him when 7dam
introduces himself. 'our is suspicious, but tells 7dam that he is going to help win the war.
<n JThe 6e)enge of +e)enJ, 3e leads the =ohn, +am, and :alcolm to 7shwood states to take out
the Trueborn :ogs. 3owe)er, the Trueborn were gone, ecept for a +al)age team and the "eneral.
7fter a big fight, 7dam sa)es =ohn from the "eneral by stabbing his father in the back with his
fatherAs sword Fwhich he keeps laterG. 7fter meeting with the other "arde, he slowly grows on them.
3e later Boins +i and +e)en in going to the :ayan Temple, alakmul. 7fter taking out the :og
forces, he was able to pass through the Lorien force field and follow the "arde into the Temple to

Loralite is the rarest and strongest gem on Lorien, only found at the planetAs core. <t is used to make
the "ardeAs pendants. <t can also increase ightAs range of teleportation, allowing him to teleport
from continent to continent. 3e can only teleport to places that already ha)e Loralite crystal, and hecannot control where he will go. ight has so far found Loralite in #ew :eico, the coast of +omalia,
aster <sland, and a few other places.

Healing Stone is a black Lorien stone that heals inBuries caused with the intent to hurt or kill, but
