PIER TYPE

ECCENTRIC PIER – Used where there is space constrain due to existing condition and built forms.

CONCENTRIC PIER – Used where space is available. Centre line of the pile cap , pier , pier cap and deck slab is one single line.

Life line

Tag line

LIFE-LINE – In circumstances where a guard-rail cannot be provided at the same time there is high risk of a “fall” , fall protection lifeline systems are installed as the next line of fall protection. Lifeline systems can be used to arrest workers in the event of a fall or restrain workers from reaching a fall hazard. TAG-LINE – Rope attached to the beam/truss that is being lifted. The rope is used by a worker on the ground to control the item as it swings up.

SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITIES - WORLD ENVIRONMENT DAY

L&T group and their employees at site are aware about the environmental degradation that is happening all around the world. So on the world environment day they undertook a unique initiative of planting numerous plants across the sites. It was great initiative, where right from the senior most site engineer to the labors, everyone took part whole heartedly. The engineers gave speech to the labors about the environmental awareness and tried to make them aware about the importance of the environment.

Rajdip Das - Internship Project Report (L&T) 20

I had a lifetime experience during my internship stint of two months at L&T. I was reporting at the park circus site where a flyover construction is being executed and presently it is at the final stage of construction and at the verge of completion. Dedicated employees and strict work ethics are the very first thing that I have observed about L&T during my internship. Quality and safety are two extremely important criterion for the organization. Timely completion of work and meeting the project deadlines set by KMDA is another parameter in which L&T is successful . When it comes to my personal knowledge gain from the internship, I consider myself extremely lucky to get such an opportunity to stay at the site. I became aware about the construction procedures, heavy machineries that are being used, how work is distributed among the subcontractors, labor policies that are untaken at the site and also the social responsibilities like plantation of new trees on the world environment day. The precautionary measures and guidelines of L&T ensuring safety of the workers and the employees at site is something that has amazed me. I would like to express my gratitude to Mr. P.Dutta Sir and MR. Ghosh Sir for giving me an opportunity to stay at the site, and last but not the least Mr. R. Rakshit Sir for helping me out at the site in all possible ways. RAJDIP DAS M.TECH, INTERN IIT KGP
