Final City Level with The Book

The Book and The City The library is conceptually divided into two dierent parts: The Book and The City. The rst part of the library, The Book, which holds rare books of the history of New York, is lied o the level of the city. The second part, The City, which holds periodicals, newspapers, etc., is on the level of the city. The periodicals and newspapers are constantly changing with city while the rare books remain stac in the book, signifying people, places, and events that have past but made an impact on the city. The city level, having a strong connecon to the city, is formed by cuts and folds based on the plan of the pre-exisng buildings on the site. Some areas are covered with grass to represent the parks eect on the city and the library. This city level is modied through further folds to provide for addional outdoor sing and other programmac needs.

Diagonal cuts connectiong corners of pre-existing buidlings to provide for more dynamic and connected folds
