women who are suffering from domestic

    violence, drug addiction or homelessness.

work opportunities for women that seek a

new start in life. Love is the intangible force

that drives this organization to respond toaction, creating a call to action and attention

comes from the radical love this organization

    offers.

The goal at the end of every day is for these

women and children living in this space are

able to feel secure, hopeful, and loved. In

order to create this experience, the living

design of the walls concave to give the illusion

    of two hands embracing the residents in love;

this feature is also found throughout the kid’s

    TOUCHDOWN

    According to research, San Francisco

International Airport is the second largest

facility in the west coast and 22nd busiest

worldwide. The goal for this project is to

    acknowledge the importance of networking

with cultures. SFO provides accessible nonstop

international routes, this allows fast and easy

travel for passengers. In order to communicatethe idea of networking, the interior architectural

structure is pointing to the 3 major continents

that SFO sends its travelers. This gesture of

pointing creates the notion of networking

and connecting with different places, hence

different cultures. The top left image is the

map containing the flight paths of 2014 used

to determine the 3 major continents. Based off

the flight paths, SFO sends its travelers to the

following continents: Asia, Europe and South

    America.

The ceiling detail was used to define

the architectural design. It is composed

of series of linear lines are projected to

    continents. After completing the exercise,

the lines were experimented with by

extruding and placing them on different

elevations. As a result, a ceiling detail

contains an interesting dynamic and rigid

look. Also, the inner walls were insured

to functional and delivering the same

    language to the ceiling design.

In conclusion this touchdown is a solution

and design innovation that would suit

the needs of the SFO touchdown lounge.

The design not only contains interesting

architectural components but includesstate of the art technological equipment,

    ergonomic furniture pieces, and suitable

    work space.

SENSORY CUES: BE THE HERO (TEAM PROJECT: LILY YOU, NICOLE FURUTA, MARIO HERNANDEZ)

Sensory Cues: “An Active Learning Center for Visually

    and Hearing Impaired Children”

Our space is aimed to refine the senses and skills

of these children in a fun and engaging way, just as

superheros must adapt and heighten their senses.

We want to improve the other senses these children

have so they won’t see their disability as a weakness

    or disadvantage.

We organized the space by using colors drawn from

three superheros who have disabilities and used it

as a way-finding system through out the space.

Each space has an interactive sense wall that helps

the children to develop certain senses in fun and

engaging way. This element is another tool we used

    for way-finding and room identity.
