3. Next Sabbath all guys, men, boys will be at Spiritual retreat with Chuck Burkeen at Maple Grove Methodist Camp, 194936 19th Line, Thamesford, ON. Conference Men Ministries Director Glen DeSilva will be visiting the gathering on Sabbath. For more details see flyers and posters. Contact Gord Rayner for registering to attend.

4. Our Fanshawe Camping weekend is coming soon...June 8th to 10th at Group Campsite A (close to the snack shop). For those who are not able to spend the whole weekend, but want to visit on Sabbath, June 9th, the entrance fee is $3 for one person in a car or $6 for a carload, this is a discounted fee for our London SDA Church group and you must tell the attendant at the Gate that you are visiting our group. Pay at the Gate when you enter the Park or you may prepay to Don Topper, so load up your vehicles. (Please note that the prepayment is not refundable. If you change your mind, it will be a donation to the cost of the camping weekend). If prepaying, please give your vehicle license number to Don along with your payment.

5. June 8-9, Southern Regional campmeeting will be held in Simcoe at Norfolk County Fairgrounds, 172 South Drive, Simcoe. Guest speakers this year are Dr. Gaspar Colon and Dr. Hiskia Missah.

6. Next Class for the School of Evangelism will be June 10th at 805 Shelborne, London. Classes begin at 9:30 am and will continue to 4:30. Lunch break from 12:30 to 1:30 pm. Class will be taught by pastor Emerson on how to give Bible Studies.

7. Children and Youth Appreciation Day is June 16th! Please register your child or youth by June 9th by completing a registration card with the name, age and three accomplishments for your child (0 to 12 years) or youth (13 to 18 years) over the last year. Alternatively, you are welcome to send in your registration to Lucy Simoes at lmsimoes@rogers.com by June 9th.

8. Next Elders meeting will take place Monday, June 11 at 5:30 pm at the church.

10. Registration for Adventist Christian Elementary School Kindergarten class to be starting for the 2012-2013 school year, have been extended to June 30/2012, all registration must be made by then.

13. The renovations on the church auditorium will be entering into the final stage this week. The ceiling was repaired, cracks were sealed and a new texture was sprayed for better acoustic; walls had been painted; electrical and wiring had been done; tomorrow we are working on the stage extension, the carpet installation will begin Tuesday, to be completed before the next Sabbath. June 2 women ministry Sabbath is planned to be conducted at the renovated auditorium. June 9th the church facility will be closed. The official “homecoming” Sabbath in the new auditorium is planned for June 16.

14. Inviting ALL to our mid-week church service on Wednesday nights at 7 pm. Even during the renovation stage we continue meeting for prayer in the fellowship hall! It is time for extra prayer, deeper Bible study, and opportunities for members to develop their preaching gifts.

Pray for Nigeria & New Zealand We continue praying for the Nigeria until the end of May. We had began

praying for this most populous African country on Thursday, and continue praying for its 160 million of inhabitants for 8 days.

Three largest and most influential ethnic groups are the Hausa/Fulani (Muslim), Igbo (Christian) and Yoruba (ethnic animistic). Rivalry between these groups has dominated local politics since independence. Northern part is enforcing Islam and is pushing Sharia law. Pray for safety of Christian communities in that region.

45 people groups are unreached and are practicing ethnic witchcraft religions. Oil-rich territory attracts military conflicts for access and control of resources.

Rapid growth of independent evangelical churches and of Anglican adherents had contributed to unbalanced teachings, and numerous doctrinal distortion, mixing often ethnic religions with Christianity. Indigenous “spiritual” churches are popular as they offer syncretistic blend. Pray for church leadership to invest into equipping believers with truth.

The wealth generated by oil industry is unjustly used for upper class, pray for elimination of poverty and social justice.

Pray for mercy and compassion, for service to people where AIDS crisis claimed 8% of population. About 2 million of children are orphaned because of the disease. Pray that churches would be impacting the youth toward morality and integrity.

Pray for refugees that come from other Central and East African countries. Pray for Christians to be welcoming, inclusive and caring.

Pray for openness of other evangelicals to the Seventh-day Adventist witness. Adventist church in Nigeria has its University – Babcock, and an Adventist Radio recording studio. Recent boom of movie making industry is transforming the culture of this nation. Pray that Christian church will use all opportunities for the Gospel.

Friday we will pray for New Zealand. With population of 4.5 million the country has significant Adventist presence, proportionate to that of USA. Two church conferences coordinate the work. The Northern part is much larger with 93 churches, 13 schools, Tui Ridge Park (a camping facility), Bethesda (an aged care home hospital and village). The Southern island, larger, and called “mainland” has only a quarter of population, and proportionately smaller Adventist church, only 24 congregations.

New Zealand churches are big on discipleship, church balance and health for natural growth and development. Pray for church to continue community outreach, especially in the increasing diversity of cultures. A special need is to witness among Asian immigrants and refugees.

Young people are affected by secular trends. Pray for church to be relevant and caring for the new generation.

As we consider the Great Commission and pray for the world, as we look into our neighborhood and see the “universe next door” – witness!
