The Painted Chamber

When the National Trust of Scotland restored the first two

floors of the building, they uncovered original renaissance painted ceilings in the process.

In the 17th century, the

bourgeois population decorated their premises with

hand painted walls and ceilings, influenced by the Low

Countries’ style.

These products have been inspired by the hand painted beams and boards from “the Painted Chamber”, featuring

flowers, fruits, arabesques and geometric shapes.
