Conn was appointed Director for General Dynamics Land Systems in September 2009. He is currently responsible for U.S. Land Systems Organizational Development, Talent Management and Employment Compliance. In this post, he is responsible to deliver uncompromised, strategically relevant and knowledgeable guidance related to organizational constructs, employee development and enterprise efficiency. He must assess and assure that the tools and methods for Diversity development, employment policy and practices, on and off-boarding, talent management, and successor opportunities are effective, legally compliant and supportive of the expectations of the business. Additionally, he provides innovative Human Capital guidance and solutions to the GDLS Sr. Leadership Team and their organizations, enabling the achievement of desired business outcomes. Mr. Conn joined General Dynamics in 2005 serving as Manager of the Human Resources Organization for Land Systems’ Abrams Tank manufacturing facility in Lima, Ohio, before transferring to GDLS Division headquarters in Sterling Heights, Michigan in 2007. Initially responsible for Human Resources across all non-unionized U.S. operations, he was then promoted to his current position in 2009. Michael A. Conn was appointed Director for General Dynamics Land Systems in September 2009. He is currently responsible for U.S. Land Systems Organizational Development, Talent Management and Employment Compliance.

In this post, he is responsible to deliver uncompromised, strategically relevant and knowledgeable guidance related to organizational constructs, employee development and enterprise efficiency. Mr. Conn joined General Dynamics in 2005 serving as Manager of the Human Resources Organization for Land Systems’ Abrams Tank manufacturing facility in Lima, Ohio, before transferring to GDLS Division headquarters in Sterling Heights, Michigan in 2007. His experience includes leadership roles in Human Resources for; Thomson Consumer Electronics, Federal-Mogul, Delco Remy and Metaldyne Corporation. As a Senior HR professional with 25 years of diversified business and Human Resource Management experience, he brings over 13 years of division level executive leadership backed with 12 years in operation’s environments, providing the foundation for effective assessment, strategy development, relationship building and communication at all levels in an organization.

Special assignments for Mr. Conn include; 180 day assignment to GDAMS in Woodbridge, VA as HR Lead to assure successful PDR milestone with USMC/Navy customer was achieved, (2008), HR Lead in the development of the business case, action plan and execution of the Muskegon Operations closure (2009), HR Due Diligence and Integration Strategy Lead for the acquisition of Force Protection, (2011-12), design and administration lead of the GDLS Voluntary Separation Program (VSP) realizing the reduction of 191 key management employees (2013).

Mr. Conn received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration with emphasis on Human Resources and Industrial Psychology from the University of Alabama – Huntsville.
