Coronavirus has severely impacted the global economy and the livelihoods of many. Although the situations in Europe and the United States have eased, tens of thousands of confirmed cases and hundreds of deaths are reported every day. In Asia, the epidemic is relatively under control, but the recovery of nor-malcy and travel will take time. In this environment, new habits have emerged of working-from-home, buying-from-home, and learning-from-home. Most Chinese communities have also abided by strict public hygiene and social dis-tancing rules. These practices were vital in dramatically reducing infections and restarting the economy within Asia.

Our Administration Department has act-ed swiftly and decisively since the onset of the outbreak. It took the initiative to obtain relevant information and release an anti-epidemic guide. A key compo-nent was also the strict enforcement of any policy, as well as frequent updates of prevention requirements. In addition, our operation has run smoothly and safely by enhancing internal communications.

There are several keys to success while working from home: 1) self-discipline; 2) team spirit; 3) accessible working tools, and 4) adaptability during emergencies.

However, our business performance, the Group’s sales, and profitability have fallen short of expectations due to the external environment in the first half of the year, but the resumption of work and production in the mainland in the second half of the year will drive the economy. We believe that we will be able to achieve our business goals by the end of the year. I hope that we will persevere and embody the hardworking spirit of the Chinese people to achieve success together with Milton.

新冠病毒令全球经济和民生受到严重影响，欧美国家虽然稍见缓和，但每天仍有数以万计的确诊和百计的死亡数字，相对而言亚洲的疫情算是受控，但距离彻底安全和能恢复跨境往来还需一段时间。因此社会都开始习惯在家工作、在家消费和在家学习的生活新常态。华人社会大多遵从公共卫生和保持社交距离规则，令以华人为主的亚洲地区能在短期内遏止疫情并可重启经济。

以万通为例，自疫情爆发起，行政部同事的快速应变、主动索取数据制定抗疫守则并严格执行，使各地同事了解最新疫情和抗疫要求，各部门之间亦增强沟通，做到安全第一又不影响日常业务。在家工作需要具备多项条件：一)个人自律性；二)团队合作精神；三)配备合适工具；四)有灵活弹性和应变能力。

然而业绩方面，因外在环境因素令集团上半年的销售业务和盈利水平未能达到预期目标，下半年内地复工复产亦带动内地经济，我们有信心在年底前能达到今年的业务目标，希望大家坚持努力，发挥中国人勤奋拼搏的精神，与万通一起成功。

The demand for plastic continues growing. In our daily life, almost every product, including home appliance, toys, auto parts, medical devices, etc, has some parts made of plastic. Plastic materials constantly evolve to offer advanced, superior and sustainable materials than ever. However, plastics also are rife with environmental impacts. Thus, “Green” plastics are the sustainable materials and global trend in the market.

What is “Green” Plastics?Green plastics refer to plastic materials or products that are either made by recycling, bio-based materi-als or biodegradable.

Recycled plastics collected from consumer waste products like water bottles. Then the plastic takes a recycling system and reprocessing into new gran-ules, like Covestro recycled polycarbonate grades, which under stringent recycle system to ensure the plastics quality and stability, to be utilized in a wide variety of applications.

生物基材料本质上是有机材料，主要由植物或可再生材料制成。凯柏胶宝(KRAIBURG TPE)研发的热塑性弹性体可调节再生原料的比例，这些原材料可满足对环保和可持续发展日益增长的需求，并在创新产品研发中发挥重要的作用。

可生物降解塑料是指在一定的生物作用或堆填的环境下可被降解的塑料原料。它将不需要在垃圾堆填区中停留数百年而无法降解， 只需通过数年或几十年的时间便可透过生物降解完全分解。

迈向可持续发展显然“绿色”塑料通过减少化石资源的消耗，碳足迹及减少垃圾堆填而对环境有益。而且，消费者将越来越理解并更倾向于选择可持续产品。

为了响应消费者的喜好和新的法规，许多大品牌都承诺在产品中使用 “绿色 “塑料，以减少废物的产生和排放，从而推动可持续性和资源效率。

例如，一间国际知名的玩具制造商，他们正在开发以生物基材料为主的产品系列，尤其考虑使用生物基TPE。生物基TPE的密度低、表面光滑、手感舒适、可与PP、PE、P-C、ABS、CAP等多种塑料通过注塑成型相结合等特点，特别适合儿童玩具。同时使用生物基TPE也有助于提高产品档次，扩大市场和客户群。

当今消费者更喜欢选购环保或可持续发展的产品，而制造商也倾向使用 “绿色 “和可持续发展的材料。我们致力提供更多环保材料的选择，确保满足社会对环境责任和可持续性不断提高的要求。同时我们将继续探索和研发先进的材料技术和解决方案，以满足不断发展的行业需求。

Bio-based materials are organic in their nature, mostly made from plants or renewable materials. One global TPE manufacturer –KRAIBURG TPE developed custom-engineered thermoplastic elasto-mers containing variable proportions of renewable raw materials that meet the growing demand for en-vironmentally friendly and sustainability and plays a vital role in the innovative product development.

Biodegradable plastic is plastic which degrades under certain biological action or landfill conditions. Instead of lingering in landfills for hundreds of years, it will be biodegraded within decades or years in a sustainable end-of-life process.

Moving toward sustainability Obviously, “Green” plastics are beneficial to the environment by reducing the depletion of fossil resources, carbon footprint and waste-to-landfill. In addition, consumers tend to understand and prefer-ence for sustainable products.

In order to response to consumer preferences and new legislation, plenty major brands have pledged to use “Recycle” or “Green” plastics materials in their products, at the aim of reducing the waste generation and emissions, thus drives the sustaina-bility and resource efficiency.

For example, one of the top brands of toy man-ufacturers, they are developing new series with bio-based materials especially with bio-based TPE in their toy parts. Characters of bio-based TPE are low density, smooth surface, soft touch and can be over-molded with various plastics, including PP, PE, PC, ABS, etc, which are suitable for children’s toys. It’s useful to upgrade product and expand the market.

Consumers prefer sustainable products, and man-ufacturers are stepping to choose “Green” and sustainable materials. We strive to offer an environ-mentally friendly alternative to consumer brands to ensure increased environmental responsibility and sustainability. Also will continue to explore and develop advanced technologies and solutions that can meet the evolving industry needs.

全球对塑料的需求持续增长。日常生活中，几乎所有产品包括家用电器、玩具、汽车配件医疗设备…都有塑料部件。随着塑料材料不断发展，现今的材料比以往更先进、优越及可持续性。但不可否认的是塑料充斥着对环境的影响，因此可持续发展的材料 — ｢ 绿色 ｣ 塑料，将会是全球市场的趋势。

什么是 ｢ 绿色 ｣ 塑料？｢ 绿色 ｣ 塑料是指通过回收、生物基材料或可生物降解制成的塑料或产品。

再生塑料是指回收消费性废品（如水瓶）加工再造后所得的物料。 塑料经过回收系统，重新加工成为新的胶粒，如知名品牌科思创(Covestro)的回收聚碳酸酯材料，就是在严格的回收系统下生产的绿色塑料,并确保其质量和稳定性，应用于不同行业之中。

三十载晚宴 简而隆重Gala Dinner

Together, we fight with the virus. This year is the 30th anniversary of the founding of the company, and all members of the company were gathering in Hong Kong to celebrate this special moment. However, due to the seriousness of the epidemic, the dinner party had to be canceled. Fortunately, when the epidemic in Hong Kong was subsided and the restrictions were relaxed, therefore we could organize a simple dinner with some of our colleagues.

On Friday evening, we not only enjoyed the sunset and the view of Ocean Park from Ovolo Southside Hotel, but also put aside the busy work and enjoyed the rewards of our hard work together. At last, we celebrated the birthday moment with the guest who birth in June and look forward to the precious moment with all Milton family.

迎难而上，同心抗疫。今年是万通成立三十周年, 原本全体万通成员将会齐集香港, 一同欢聚庆祝这个特别时刻，无奈新冠肺炎疫情持续严峻，欢聚晚宴唯有取消。幸而，早前香港疫情稍缓及限聚令放宽时，我们与部份同事举办一个简单的欢聚晚宴。

在周五的黄昏陪伴下, 我们在奥华酒店-南岸与众人暂时将忙碌的工作放下，一同享受美酒美食, 眺望陪伴港人成长的海洋公园及优美的黄昏景色。同事们举杯畅谈，更为六月的寿星庆生及送上祝福。当晚在一 片 欢乐和笑声中结束，并期待着全体万通成员能聚首一堂。

Capital Magazine is a well-known comprehensive platform for news, economics and public affairs in Hong Kong. Recently, Bobby who is the Group CEO and President of Hong Kong Young Industrialists Council interviewed by this magazine. During the interview, he shared about entrepreneurship, grassroots experiences and his insight about the youngster .

Sunny and Bobby, the cofounder of Milton Group, grew up in Ming Wah Dai Ha, where they raised with their siblings and parents in a small flat. With the grassroots background, they said that kind of environment makes the neighbors closer, and that poverty can help to sharpen the fighting spirit and make one more motivated.

Bobby shared his childhood growth, the reasons for founding Milton, the challenges and difficulties in the development process, and how to continue to expand and capture market opportunities to lead it to become a leader in the industry. Also, he sent a message to young people to dare to innovate and do not underestimate their strengths.

推陈出新, 因应时代而转变是成功企业的一个重要特质, 而万通一直注重对年青人的培育，传承工业发展。七月初, 万通邀请了一批工业界未来的生力军参观集团总部, 他们都是曾经参加由香港青年工业家协会(YIC)举办的「YIC新兴工业国实习计划」的学生。 当日, 集团行政总裁兼香港青年工业家协会会长廖锦兴博士(Bobby)分享他的创业经历和工业界最近发展。 透过Bobby在工业界多年累积的经验和自身经历的分享, 相信可以有助更多年轻人了解工业界, 为新工业时代带来新能量。

Bringing the new things and changing in response to the times is an important feature of a successful company. Like Milton, we always valued the cultivation of young people. In the early of July, a group of potential young visited the Milton headquarters. They were all students who participated in the “YIC x OUHK Internship Program in Newly Industrialized Country” which organized by the Hong Kong Young Industrialists Association (HKYIC). On that day, Bobby, CEO of Milton and President of HKYIC, shared his entrepreneurial experience with the students. Through his personal experience, hope to help more young people understand the industrial field and bring new energy to the new industrial era.
