32 | DIPLOMATA Május 9, a Győzelem napja 9 th May – the Day of Victory 71 évvel ezelőtt ezen a napon ért véget a II. világháború Európában. Őexc. Vladimir Sergeev, az Oroszországi Föderáció magyarországi nagykövete fogadást adott az évforduló alkalmából a nagykövetségen, amelyen több száz vendég vett részt, köztük a diplomáciai testület számos tagja, a magyar politikai és társadalmi élet képviselői, az orosz kolónia tagjai. A nagykövet ünnepi beszédében elmondta, hogy a Győzelem Napja az orosz társadalom legnagyobb ünnepe, az utódok méltó módon emlékeznek a nagy honvédő háború sok millió áldoza- tára és óriási veszteségeire. FOGADáS OROSZORSZáG NEMZETI üNNEPéN Az orosz parlament 1990. június 12-én kinyilvánította Oroszország függetlenségét és szuverén államiságát. S azóta minden évben meg- ünneplik Oroszország Napját. Hagyományosan ezen a napon adja át az államfő a tudományos és a kulturális élet kiemelkedő személyisé- geinek az állami kitüntetéseket. 1991-ben az ország hivatalos neve Oroszországi Föderációra változott. Őexc. Vladimir Sergeev, az Oroszországi Föderáció nagykövete és felesége, Varvara Sergeeva fogadást adott a nemzeti ünnep alkalmából. A nagykövetségen rendezett ünnepségen megjelentek a diplomáciai képviseletek tagjai, a magyar politikai és társadalmi élet személyiségei, és a magyarországi orosz közösség tagjai. P. Vladimir Sergeev, Ambassador of the Russian Federation to Hungary held a reception at the Embassy. e event was attended by hun- dreds of guests including the members of the diplomatic corps, the representatives of Hun- garian political and social life and the members of the Russian colony. In his ceremonial speech the Ambassador said that the Day of Victory is the greatest celebration of the Rus- sian society, and the descendants can remem- ber the millions of victims and great losses of the patriotic wars in a worthy way. RECEPTION ON RUSSIA’S NATIONAL DAY On 12 th June 1990 the Russian Parliament declared Russia’s independence and sovereign- ty. Since then Russia’s National Day Has been celebrated every year. Traditionally on that day the head of state awards the exceptional per- sonalities of scientiﬁc and cultural life with state medals. In 1991 the country’s oﬃcial name was changed to Russian Federation. On the occasion of the National Day H.E. Vladimir Sergeev, Ambassador of the Russian Federation to Hungary and his wife, Varvara Sergeeva gave a reception. e event held at the Embassy was attended by the members of the diplomatic corps, the representatives of Hun- garian political and social life and the members of the Russian community in Hungary.
