The band featured on this double page spread, ‘The Teenagers’ are a synth pop band from France. Although NME is known to mainly feature rock and alternative genres, due to the current splurge of other genres making a come back such a electro and synth pop it has started to be featured alot more as NME are always up to date and current with all the different trends within the music scene. The Teenagers were originally formed as a joke during their graduation and are known for their huggable pop and vulgar lyrics. Their clothing denotes the style of ‘indie’ which will again reflect what their target market will be, in this case it is most likely to be 16‐25 year olds, whom are interested in the lastest bands and the cult that is followed from the ‘indie’ genre.

Due to their explicit and vulgar lyrics used in their songs, the readers whom already know of The Teenagers will be expecting the interview to also denote this. Which from the pull quote it does saying, ‘Of course we’re a sexual band’, which without even reading the interview you can tell that it will reflect this.

Although NME is known to keep to a consistent colour scheme throughout of red, black and white as RADAR is a special section within the issue of NME, displaying new bands and music, it often breaks the norm and chnages the usual colour scheme. Although the layout and fonts are kept the same, NME just simply change the colour, in this case to blue.

NME often keeps their double page spreads simple and straight forward in order to easily inform the reader and to cause minimal confusion. NME have used a basic technique of using one half of the page for image and the other half of the page for text and information, yet they are done it in a way which they have made the spread effective is that they have linked the two pages together. They have done this by overlapping the heading onto both sides of the spread.

The front cover is heavily styled as this is a special issue of NME, yet the double page spread is simple and straightforward.
