University Level Education

There are 18 university level schools in the Szczecin Metropolitan Area (SMA), the main are:– University of Szczecin – over 30 000 students– Westpomeranian Technological University – 17 000

students– Westpomeranian Business School – 4 900 students– Szczecin Maritime University – 3 600 students– Pomeranian Medical University – 2 500 students

Overall number of students in the SMA – 61 000

Main degrees include: processing, engineering, construction, economy and management, IT, biotechnology, law, electronics, mathematics, chemistry

• Unemployment rate in the Region is 14,1%(to compare 10,7% in Poland)

• 97% of students in Szczecin speak English(30% - very well)

• Access to qualified staff – 18 000 graduates annually, 80 000 students at 22 high schools

• Szczecin: 1 900 graduates in economics and administration, 550 IT engineers, 3 000 other engineers
