Moscow is the capital of Russia , its political, economic and cultural center.

The population of Moscow is about 12 million people.

The city was founded by the Prince Yuri Dolgoruky in the 12th century

At that time Moscow was a small settlement. But in the 15th century Moscow had grown into a big city. In the 16th century under the rule of Ivan the Terrible, Moscow became the capital of the state of Moscovy.

During the war of 1812 almost the whole Moscow was destroyed by the fire, but in the middle of the 19th century the city was completely rebuilt

Moscow is an industrial center. Chemical, engineer and light industries are developed here.

It’s the city of science and learning. There are 80 higher educational institutions in the city.

There are a lot of sights in Moscow. For example: the Art Theater, the Pushkin Museum, the Bolshoi Theatre and The Stale Tretyakov Gallery

The oldest part of Moscow is the Kremlin. It’s the heart of the city.

Red Square is know by all. It’s the main part of Moscow which attracts tourists and people who live in Moscow
