Spirals• You will keep Spiral #2 with you and bring it to

class every day. Spiral #1 needs to stay in class.

Lost and Found Crate

• If you find something that does not belong to you please put it in the blue Lost and Found Crate.

• If you have lost something you should check the box before class begins.

• You do not need to give a found item to me or ask if I have found something.

Heading on Paper

• Name, Date, Class Period• Top, Right-Hand Corner

• Papers with no names will be taped to the back white board. These assignments will lose 5 points.

Complete Sentences

• All assignments that get turned in must be written in complete sentences or you will lose points.

Turning in Work• Be sure to put your heading on

your work.• Find the box with your class period.• If you are not absent and don’t

have your work ready to turn in on time, you must sign the no homework binder with your name and the date.

SSR/SSW

• We read for 25 minutes at the beginning of every class period. You need to bring a book to class from one of the following places:– Lakeview Library– Class Library– From Home

• You will then be given a writing prompt that you will answer based on what you read that day (SSW).

SSR Conferences• You must conference with me once every six

weeks about a book that you have read.• This means that you are expected to read at least

one entire book in a six weeks time period.• Conferences are held during SSR time.• When you have completed a book, raise your

hand and tell me that you are ready to conference.• I will ask you questions about your book and ask

that you read one page aloud to me…you pick the page.

Weekly Writing

• We will have weekly writing on the board every Friday. You need to get your spiral and begin working on this as soon as you enter the room.

Textbooks

• Textbooks will be issued at a later date.• 2 textbooks and one workbook• Textbooks stay home and workbook stays here• Online access to the textbook will be given

later, but I do recommend taking books home.
