Cultural Center – Lattakia city

Ground floor

I have designed this project during my study in the thirdyear at the Faculty of Architecture. The site is located on the outskirts of the coastal city“Latakia”.This project composed of two sections: the educationaland the cultural one.The educational section includes classes for painting, different forms of sculpturing & music, whereas thecultural section includes a reception, a hall for alltheatrical performance and a library.

The idea of this design built on two main basics:1. To separate the educational section with its loud noiseapart from the cultural section that requires relatively aquiet atmosphere by creating a new department thatjoins the above two blocks together.2. To make use of Latakia city beautiful nature bycreating an uncovered space inside the main building.

Thus this new department allows the students to work outin summer, and to showcase their works within thisopened half place which is equipped by a cafeteria andall other necessary services.

Kindergarten – Deir Ez-Zor city

Ground floor This kindergarten is located in the city of Deir ez-Zor on theEuphrates River, which is characterized by its relatively desertclimate i.e cold winter and hot summer.

Such environmental exceptional conditions impose to designin the first place a "Patio" a winter courtyard for the kids toplay in during the break, in addition to the using of the naturalstone as a construction insulation factors for such a cruelnature.

With the use of domes and arched roofs, a rotational motionare created in the air resulting a natural ventilation thatpalliate the high temperature in this city & reduce the size ofthe windows and raise them up near the ceiling to create alsoa moderate air stream somewhat.

The Design tends to fulfill all the necessary conditions in termsof space inside the classroom, and avoid the sharp angles togive more flexibility in order to be consistent by the movementof the kids.

Hotel Al- Qastal – Kassab city

this four star hotel is located in a mountainous area far from the stir of the cityin a village that is famous as a perfect site for filming movie scenes outdoors inthe nature (Qastal area)

The owner's major aim: the hotel rooms and suites have to be ready for hiringespecially by artists and technicians who work in this domain. In addition totourists who want to relax in such calm atmosphere.

The building includes a bedroom tower, which oversees the nearby valley andlake. 7 rooms and 3 suites per floor. In addition to the other required servicesfor each level.

Cafeterias and a main restaurant occupies the ground floor in particular, plushalls for other different entertainments such as chess, dice, and bowling.

There are panoramic restaurant and cafeteria on the top of the tower, so takeadvantage of the beautiful view, which is listed by.

a showing room is existed in the first floor inside a solid block, and that part isprovided with a small area for reading and relaxing.

The design Idea started from the conversion of a previous existed building tobe a new hotel by adding a tower and restaurants etc. .. And dovetailingthese new construction with the site.

The general configuration is inspired by the surrounding wood elements. As if itemerged from the jungle to become a geometric shape gradually.

Composite residential project – in Mountain

This housing project is located inside Latakia city province inthe mountainous area.

The main idea of this project is: to accommodate the largestnumber of residential units within spaces of 60 – 80 - 120square meters taking into consideration all the functionalrequirements in terms of good directions and spaces that arerequired for each apartment, besides providing each unit withthe advantage of the distinctive views within this horizontalspread.

The idea is derived from the Mediterranean architecture, which in its basics rely on green surfaces that form gardensexist on the tops of each apartment. In addition to the largeglass windows and terraces that are overlooking on thedistinctive views down in the valley facing the mountain.

The block integrate with the surrounded location in twoaspects: the composition of the whole project is consistentwith the topographic lines, and natural materials used forcladding such as natural stones, wood, clay , etc. .

That there will be two separate sections: The Department of administrators: includes a meeting hall

with a small place for the director in a break time, thesecretary and the Archive.

the Department of staff: open section Other requirements: 1. Hall meeting room is the most important part, which allows

through its glass walls to oversee all employees. 2. The staff work within one open space but they are

prevented to see the work of each other at the same time. 3. Develop as much as possible number of cabinets to save

The graduation project – Urban design

The graduation project Is a Study about the waterfront of Latakia city that is

connected with the rest of the Syrian, Turkish andLebanese tourist cities.

It is an urban design project with the architectural studyof several key buildings in the project.

This project tends to achieve the needs of this touristicarea which has an excellent characteristics, but it is notserviced enough to develop the tourist state.

The different sides of this site has been linked by aseveral pedestrian paths connected with the mainwaterfront of the Latakia city and al Bassa roundaboutthat lead to the international road.

As has been the creation of different items to increasethe popular tourism, which are rare in the region, suchas open beaches equipped with all the services fortheir visitors, several kinds of family gardens.

Four-star hotel was designed as per the type of Khanthat presents the local architectural style.

a primary service center includes an AdministrativeOffices building in addition to the markets that reflectthe old famous style spread around town .

The main route of sub-paths prevents random housingon-site, and primarily constitute a so-called "self-inducible" to rise up the region's development mode.

An adequate area has also allocated in the site forlocal housing, which has an economic aspect in termsof spaces, the local used materials for construction &reflecting the aesthetic of the local architectural styleas well.

with the encouragement and support of my supervisor,The Syrian government took these theoretical studiesinto consideration and actually began to implementthe main route in 2010 to be as a first step.
