We are pleased to announce that our new High Efficiency T8 and T5/T6 LED Tubes are now in production. These new design of tubes have an average light output of up to 125 Lm/W (our previous tubes averaged around 97 Lm/W) - more light for less money! They are ideal replacements for conventional T8 and T5/T6 fluorescent tubes, and only require minor modifications to the fixture wiring to bypass the existing ballast(s).

These new high output LED tubes can typically replace fluorescent tubes of twice the wattage, saving your customers around 40%~50% on lighting costs. Under Development: We are working on 600mm (2ft) and 2,400mm (8ft) LED T8 fluorescent lamp replacement tubes. These should be available in late summer of 2016

EconoLux AC Powered LED Tube Products

General Installation and Wiring

General Retrofit Guide EconoLux AC Powered LED Products such as our new Fluorescent replacement tubes, are used to

retrofit existing T8, T5, T5HO and T6 fluorescent lighting fixtures, which use a ballast to power the lamps (NOTE: the diagrams below show the same principals which are applicable to all of the fluorescent tube formats, T5, T5HO, T6 & T8)

The EconoLux LED fluorescent tube replacement products require AC power delivered directly to the tube, thus the ballast must be removed from the circuit, and AC power delivered directly to the lamp socket(s). The diagrams below show the principals of re-wiring fluorescent fixtures for retrofit. Any electrical work should be done by a competent and qualified person.

CAUTION: Do not work on electrical circuits when they are live ‐ Turn off and/or disconnect power before doing any electrical work.

Installation Steps These are the general steps for installation of the EconoLux AC powered LED tube products. There

may be variations depending on the type of fixture being retrofitted:

1] Turn off power and allow lamps to cool (if necessary);

2] Remove T8, T5, T5HO or T6 fluorescent tubes from the fixtures ;

3] Open lighting fixture so that you have access to the electrical wiring and ballast;

4] Locate the connection to the AC power feeding the ballast and disconnect it, but leave the Ground connection wire (Green or Yellow/Green) to the fixture in place;

5] Locate the connections from the T8, T5, T5HO or T6 lamp sockets, to the ballast, and disconnect them from the ballast;

6] Connect the wires from the T8, T5, T5HO or T6 lamp tube sockets, to the incoming AC power (using wire nuts or a terminal strip), in accordance with the diagrams provided above, such that Line and Neutral are connected to the appropriate T8, T5, T5HO or T6 lamp sockets. The old ballast(s) can be left in place, or removed for recycling;

7] Close up the lighting fixture and/or access to the electrical wiring/ballast, then install the LED T8 or T5/T6 LED replacement tubes;

8] Apply power to the fixture to check that the lamps light, then close any cover. Finished!
