Explanatory Notes on the Final Assessment

Kua Tutuki / Me Mahi Anō

An unsatisfactory grade in any or all assessment areas constitutes an incomplete in that area (Kāore i Eke - Incomplete) and will automatically attract a final assessment of ‘Me Mahi Anō – Resubmit’. Where an assessment of ‘Āhua Pai – Satisfactory’ is given for all of the assessment areas, it is at the discretion of the marker to deem the work completed ‘Kua Tutuki’ or to be resubmitted, ‘Me Mahi Anō’. Clear explanations must be given as to why a grade of ‘Me Mahi Anō – Resubmit’ has been awarded and advice must be given on how a final assessment of ‘Kua Tutuki – Completed’ can be achieved. This can be in the form of detailed notes made in the margin of the student assignment document, on the marking guide, in a note appended to the marking guide or / and a meeting or phone call with the student. A resubmit must be seen as an opportunity to improve rather than a sign of failure. The final assessment ‘Kua Tutuki or Me Mahi Anō’ in the top panel of the marking guide will be circled.
