研究分野

　雪崩・地すべり研究センターは、地すべり対策事業の推進と技術的向上を図る「全国地すべり・がけ崩れ対策協議会」の前身「全国地すべり対策協議会」と、特に新潟県知事の強い要望により、昭和35年に新潟県妙高市（旧新井市）に「新潟地すべり試験所」として設置されました。その後、名称が昭和37年に「新潟試験所」、平成17年に独立行政法人 土木研究所 土砂管理研究グループに所属する「雪崩・地すべり研究センター」に改称され現在に至っています。

In 1960, the Niigata Landslide Experimental Laboratory was established in Arai City (now Myoko City) in Niigata Prefecture, in response to urgent requests by the Landslide Consultative Committee and the Governor of Niigata Prefecture. The committee is the predecessor of the National Council on Landslide/Slope Failure Prevention Works, whose aims are to strengthen landslide prevention/mitigation programs and to develop related technology. The Niigata Landslide Experimental Laboratory was renamed the Niigata Experimental Laboratory in 1962 and was renamed again to the current Snow Avalanche and Landslide Research Center in 2005. It is affiliated with the Erosion and Sediment Control Research Group of the Public Works Research Institute.

　雪崩・地すべり研究センターは、積雪地帯及び地すべり多発地帯において、安全・安心な地域づくりのために雪崩と地すべり対策の研究を行っています。

　積雪地帯の集落雪崩対策として、雪崩の発生予測と雪崩防止施設に関する研究を行っています。

The Snow Avalanche and Landslide Research Center has been studying avalanche and landslide prevention/mitigation measures toward ensuring security and safety in regions that have heavy snowfall or are prone to landslides.

　地すべり多発地帯における、地すべりの発生予測と地すべり防止工事に関する研究を行っています。

The section has been researching landslide prediction and landslide prevention works in landslide-prone areas.

Toward preventing avalanche disasters in rural communities in snowy regions, the section has been researching prediction methods and control structures for avalanches.
