1. 본 문서의 구성 및 내용

2013년 하반기에는 기구축한 TEIN 참가 6개국(한국, 필리핀, 태국, 인도네시아, 말레이시아, 베트남)간의 연동을 기반으로 국제협력을 구체화하고 아울러 부족했던 국내의 선도적인 협력을 촉진하고자 OF@TEIN시험환경을 확산하기 위하여 국내 3개(KOREN NOC,고려대,포항공대), 국외 2개(말레이시아,파키스탄)사이트를 발굴하여 SmartX Box (Type C/B+)를 설치하고 연동한다.

본 문서의 구성은 크게 아래와 같이 3 가지로 분류된다.

A1. 국내 SmartX Rack (Type C) 네트워크 구성 계획

국내의 선도적인 협력을 촉진하고자 국내 5개(GIST, 제주대, 포항공대, 고려대, KOREN NOC) 사이트를 선정하여 SmartX Rack(TypeC)을 설치한다. 5개 사이트는 KOREN POP에서 VLAN을 이용한 L2통신이 가능해야 하며, 성능고도화에 따라 10G 회선을 목표로 한다. 포항공대와 제주대는 향후 2014년에 10G회선으로 업그레이드 할 계획이다. 각 사이트 전산실에서 SmartX Rack간은 10G구성이 가능하도록 구성한다.

A1.2 사전 준비 사항

- KOREN망과 각 사이트 회선 구성 (신규연동 및 회선업그레이드) - L2 Tunnel을 위한 5개 POP 공통으로 미사용 VLAN 2개 - Remote management(IMM 포트)용 IP Address 1개 - Uplink스위치 인터페이스 확인 - ONP서버 연결 케이블 및 인터페이스 모듈 준비 : 관리용(Power/Management) 1G RJ45, 제어용(Control) 1G RJ45, 데이터용(Data) 10G XFP(SR) - SmartX Rack 설치장소 선정 (항온항습 시설 완비)

나. 네트워크 구성 현황

현재 KOREN망과 GIST 간 회선 속도는 10G 이고, SmartX Rack설치 장소는 GIST백본이 위치해 있는 Lab 전산실에 위치한다. 그리고 Lab실에는 SmartX Rack(TypeA)와 국내/외 사이트 연결을 제어하는 제어장치들이 있다. 5개 사이트 SmartX Rack(TypeC)의 Control, Data의 IP Address는 GIST의 중앙제어장치에 의해 DHCP로 사설 IP Address를 할당 받게 된다. 이를 위하여 KOREN망과 각 사이트 SmartX Rack까지 Control, Data 각각에 대한 동일한 VLAN을 할당했다.

A1.2.2 제주대 POP 구성 계획

가. 제주대 POP SmartX Rack 연동 구성도

나. 네트워크 구성 현황

현재 KOREN망과 제주대 간 회선 속도는 1G 이다. 내년에는 10G로 업그레이드 할 예정이다. 따라서 제주대POP의 백본과 회선에 대한 고도화 작업이 필요하다. SmartX Rack(TypeC)설치 장소는 제주POP 전산실을 지나 공과대학 Lab실이다. 그리고 그곳에는 2012년 설치한 SmartX Rack (TypeB)가 있었지만, 현재는 Capsulator Box로 변경되었다. 제주대 SmartX Rack(TypeC)에서 Control, Data의 IP Address를 GIST의 중앙제어 장치에 의해서 DHCP로 할당받기 위해 KOREN망과 제주대 SmartX Rack(TypeC)까지 Control, Data 각각에 대한 동일한 VLAN을 할당했다.

나. 네트워크 구성 현황

현재 KOREN망과 포항공대 간 회선 속도는 1G 이다. 내년에는 10G로 업그레이드 할 예정이다. 따라서 포항공대POP의 회선에 대한 고도화 작업이 필요하다. SmartX Rack(TypeC)설치 장소는 포항공대POP 전산실을 지나 500m 떨어진 공과대학 전산실이다. 포항공대 SmartX Rack(TypeC)에서 Control, Data의 IP Address를 GIST의 중앙제어 장치에 의해서 DHCP로 할당받기 위해 KOREN망과 포항공대 SmartX Rack(TypeC)까지 Control, Data 각각에 대한 동일한 VLAN을 할당했다.

나. 네트워크 구성 현황

현재 KOREN망과 고려대간 회선 속도는 10G 이다. 이번 OF@TEIN과제를 위하여 1G에서 10G로 회선을 변경 하였다. SmartX Rack설치 장소는 고려대POP 전산실과 제2공학관 FDF를 지나 공학관 실험실에 배치 한다. 고려대 SmartX Rack(TypeC)에서 Control, Data의 IP Address를 GIST의 중앙제어 장치에 의해서 DHCP로 할당받기 위해 KOREN망과 고려대 SmartX Rack(TypeC)까지 Control, Data 각각에 대한 동일한 VLAN을 할당했다.

나. 네트워크 구성 현황

SmartX Rack(TypeC)은 KOREN NOC 서울POP 백본에 직접 연결되었다. KOREN NOC SmartX Rack(TypeC)에서 Control, Data의 IP Address를 GIST의 중앙제어 장치에 의해서 DHCP로 할당받기 위해 KOREN망과 KOREN NOC SmartX Rack(TypeC)까지 Control, Data 각각에 대한 동일한 VLAN을 할당했다.

A2. 국내 SmartX Rack (Type C) 네트워크 현장설치

ONP(SmartX Rack)서버는 업체에서 각 사이트로 배포하고 Remote Management 및 서버 관리용 1G 포트(IMM:Integrated management module)을 KOREN 망에 연결 한 후 IP 설정을 완료한다. KOREN NOC에서는 각 사이트별 /27 대역을 할당하고, 서버 설치 업체가 ONP서버를 배포하기 전에 IMM을 위한 공인IP 주소를 전달한다.기본적으로 IMM 포트는 KOREN망 원격지 어디에서든 접근 하여 서버를 제어할 수

있도록 각 KOREN POP에서 네트워크를 설정한다.또한 ONP서버 설치장소에 대한 사전점검이 필요하다. Rack에 서버 장착 시 Cable

Rail을 포함해서 서버를 앞으로 빼내었을 때 문제가 없는 장소에 배치하여야 한다.

B1. 국외 SmartX Rack (Type B+) 네트워크 구성 계획

[그림 23]과 같이 KOREN/TEIN은 서울과 홍콩 POP과 10G로 연결이 되어 있다. 2012년 대상국가와 지역은 동남아 5개국으로 태국, 필리핀, 인도네시아, 말레이시아, 그리고 베트남이었다. 2013년에 추가되는 해외사이트 중 말레이시아는 회선 성능을 고려하여 MYREN NOC를 설치장소로 선정하고, 2012년 MYREN 연동기관인 쿠알라룸프르의 UM에 설치했던 Type B와 연동하여 사용할 수 있도록 하되, MYREN NOC에 설치된 Type B+가 주된 기능을 하도록 활용할 계획이다. 나머지 해외 사이트인 파키스탄 PERN과는 12월 초에 4개월간에 걸친 조정을 마무리하고 DOU를 힘들게 체결했으며, 이어서 진행한 협의 및 진행을 위한 승인절차 소요시간에 의해 다시 지연되어 2012년 1월 6일에 이슬라마바드 HEC에 설치했다. 또한 SDN과제에 대한 많은 관심을 가지고 있는 파키스탄 이용기관의 요청으로 SmartX Rack설치 당일 POLYCOM 화상회의 장

비를 이용한 Video Conference를 광주에서 실시간 진행할 예정이었으나, 파키스탄 자체 사정상 취소되었다.

통관서류에 전산장비 입고신고번호를 기재하지 않아서 말레이시아 담당교수에 의해 필요한 서류가 준비되기 까지 반나절 만에 반입이 허가 되었다. MYREN NOC의 협조로 NOC내 전산실에 설치를 하고 Uplink를 백본 라우터와 직접 연결하였다.SmartX Rack과 직접 연결된 HP스위치는 Port 가용도를 고려한 L2 스위치이며, 스

위치 관리를 위해 IP(103.26.47.226)를 부여하고, MYREN 백본에는 IP Address 103.26.47.225가 설정되었다. KOREN망 어디서든 Power/Management 대역으로 접근이 가능하도록 설정하였다. Control, Data를 위한 영역은 국내망과 같이 VLAN 및 IP대역을 분리하여야 하나 IP 부족현상으로 /28 하나의 대역을 할당했다.

KOREN NOC에서 파키스탄으로 설치방문 전에 SmartX Rack 통관을 위한 서류준비를 요청하고, 설치 시 필요한 두 개의 /28대역 IP Range를 할당받아 설치를 위한 사전준비를 하였다. 파키스탄 입국 및 이동의 제한에 대한 문제로 사전준비를 하는데 다소 시간이 소요되었으며 2013년 12월 말에 설치를 못하고, 1월 초로 연기하게 되었다. 입국 시 기부되는 장비에 대한 세금 30%를 지불해야 했다. PERN NOC의 협조를 얻어 이슬라마바드 HEC(Higher Education Commission) 전산실에 설치했다. 구분된 VLAN 두 개의 Uplink는 각각 광으로 연결되었다. SmartX Rack과 직접 연결된 HP스위치는 Port 가용도를 고려한 L2 스위치이며, 스위치 관리를 위해 IP(111.68.98.226)를 부여하고, PERN 백본 인터페이스에는각 VLAN에 대한 Uplink로서 111.68.98.225과 111.68.98.241이 설정되었다. KOREN망 어디서든Power/Management 대역으로 접근이 가능하도록 설정한다. Control,

요 약 문

1. 제목

OF@TEIN 대상 지역 SDN 구성을 위한 네트워크 구성

2. 목표 및 내용

가. SDN 네트워킹 기술에 기반하여 TEIN 참가 NREN (필리핀, 베트남, 말레이시아, 인도네시아, 태국)간을 연동하여 OF@TEIN 테스트베드를 구축하고, 미국, 유럽 등 미래 인터넷 선진국과 SDN 기반 R&D 협업을 통해 테스트베드의 연동을 위한 기반을 구축한다. 본 문서에서는 이러한 OF@TEIN 과제의 일환으로 TEIN을 통한 NREN간 테스트베드를 구축하기 위해 OpenFlow 스위치 장비를 포함하는 SmartX Rack을 TEIN 참가 NREN 사이트에 설치하기 위한 네트워크 구성을 계획한다.

나. OpenFlow 기반 OF@TEIN 네트워크 구성도 설계: OpenFlow 기반의 SDN을 지원할 수 있는 OF@TEIN 인프라를 연결하기 위해 TEIN 에 소속된 국가에 SmartX Rack을 설치한다. 당해 연도인 2012년에는 한국, 베트남, 필리핀, 태국, 말레이시아, 인도네시아의 6개 이상의 사이트들에 대해서 SmartX Rack을 설치하기 위한 네트워크 구성을 설계한다.

다. 대상 지역별 장비 설치 및 테스팅 진행 계획 수립: OpenFlow 기반 OF@TEIN 네트워크 구성에 대한 실시 계획을 수립하여, 계획에 따라 대상 지역별 SmartX Rack을 설치하고 현지 개별 테스트를 진행할 절차를 준비한다. SmartX Rack을 위한 OF@TEIN 네트워크의 설치 및 테스트 진행 순서는 대략적으로 다음과 같다.

1) KOREN/TEIN망의 연동에 관한 ping test, traceroute test, AS 확인2) L2 터널링 설정으로 Capsulator 노드의 연동을 확인3) HP Switch의 OpenFlow NOX test 진행4) 가상화 서버 노드의 VM을 실행하여 OpenFlow를 이용한 네트워크 구성을 확인5) 성능테스트를 위해 iperf, DVTS 영상 테스트를 진행한다.

2. 대상 지역 SDN 구성을 위한 네트워크 구성 설계

2.1 대상 지역 SDN 구성을 위한 네트워크 구성의 개요

[그림 2]와 같이 KOREN/TEIN에 SDN 네트워킹 기술중 OpenFlow를 적용하여 OF@TEIN 인프라를 구축한다. 위와 같이 구축을 하기 위해 각 대상국인 베트남, 필리핀, 태국, 말레이시아, 인도네시아의 TEIN 참여 NREN들과 TEIN/KOREN 연동을 한다. OpenFlow 연결을 위해 L2 터널링 및 VLAN으로 네트워크를 구성하고 설계된 SmartXRack에 대해서 OF@TEIN 네트워크 운용에 필요한 원격관리를 위해 Management 네트워크를 구성한다.

2.2 TEIN 망 연결의 전체 구성도

[그림 3]과 같이 KOREN/TEIN은 서울과 홍콩 POP과 2.5G 로 연결이 되어 있다. 각 대상국가 NREN과 설치 지역인 각 대학교에 연동한다. 대상국가와 지역은 동남아 5개국으로 태국, 필리핀, 인도네시아, 말레이시아, 그리고 베트남이다. 태국은 ThaiREN 연동기관인 방콕의 Chulalongkorn University, 필리핀은 PREGINET 연동기관인 마닐라의 ASTI, 인도네시아는 INHERENT 연동기관인 반둥의 ITB, 말레이시아는 MYREN 연동기관인 쿠알라룸프르의 UM, 베트남은 VINAREN 연동기관인 하노이의 HUT로 SmartXRack 설치 장소로 협의를 하였다.

2.3 설치 지역별 네트워크 세부 구성도 및 회선 구성도

2.3.1 태국 POP 세부 구성도

태국은 TEIN 이용기관인 Chulaongkorn University에 장소를 협의하여 진행함.

■ 네트워크 구성 현황 KOREN 서울 무교 POP과 TEIN 홍콩POP은 2.5G로 연결이 되어 있고, TEIN 망에서 태국은 싱가폴POP에서 방콕에 있는 THAIREN과 1G 로 연결되어 방콕의 CHULALONGKORN UNIVERSITY와 622M로 연결되어 있다. SmartXRack의 장비 설정하는 IP 대역은 VLAN 2개의 네트워크 로 나누어 설정을 하였으며 IP 대역은 161.200.25.96/27, 161.200.25.88/29 이다.

2.3.2 필리핀 POP 세부 구성도

필리핀은 TEIN 이용기관인 ASTI에 장소를 협의하여 진행함.

■ 네트워크 구성 현황 KOREN 서울 무교 POP과 TEIN 홍콩POP은 2.5G로 연결이 되어 있고, TEIN 망에서 필리핀은 마닐라에 있는 PREGINET과 45M 로 연결되어 마닐라의ASTI와 155M로 연결되어 있다. PREGINET에서 APAN과 연결은 155M로 BestPath임으로 TEIN 망으로 라우팅을 위하여 BGP Policy,Static route 설정으로 TEIN망을 BestPath로 조정하였다. SmartXRack의 장비 설정하는 IP 대역은 VLAN 2개의 네트워크 로 나누어 설정을 하였으며 IP 대역은 202.90.150.0/27, 202.90.149.24/29 이다.

말레이시아는 TEIN 이용기관인 University Malaya에 장소를 협의하여 진행함.

■ 네트워크 구성 현황 KOREN 서울 무교 POP과 TEIN 홍콩POP은 2.5G로 연결이 되어 있고, TEIN 망에서 말레이시아는 TEIN 싱가폴POP과 쿠알라룸프르에 있는 IMYREN과 155M 로 연결되어 쿠알라룸푸르의 UM과 1G로 연결되어 있다. SmartXRack의 장비 설정하는 IP 대역은 VLAN 2개의 네트워크로 나누어 설정을 하였으며 IP 대역은 203.80.21.0/27, 203.80.21.48/29이다.

2.3.7 광주과학기술원 POP 세부 구성도

이번 e-TEIN 수행을 위해 KOREN 광주 POP인 전남대와 GIST간 10G로 연동을 하였다.

2.4. 특이 및 고려 사항

2.4.1 전원 구성도

[그림 11]과 같이 SmartXRack과 각 대상 지역의 UPS와 연결 하여 설치한다. 태국, 필리핀, 인도네시아 3개국은 모두 UPS에 용량이 여유가 있어 설치하였고, 용량이 부족한 말레이시아와 베트남은 일반 상전에 연결하기로 협의를 하였다.

2.4.2 통관

대상 지역과 MOU 계약 문서를 우선 체결하여 서류를 준비한다. 따로 관세문서가 필요한 국가는 협의를 통해 각 국가의 절차를 따른다. 말레이시아와 베트남은 관세문서를 따로 준비하여 진행하였다.

3.3 장비 설정

SmartXRack 장비 설치를 위해 아래 [그림 13]과 같이 네트워크를 구성한다. Management 관리용, OpenFlow data용, L2 터널링 용도로 VLAN을 3개로 나누어 구성한다.

Capsulator 노드를 이용하여 TEIN망과 KOREN 망을 L2 터널링을 이용하여 OpenFlow 네트워크를 구성하여 연결할 수 있도록 설정을 한다.

3.4 TEIN 망 연동 및 연동시험 계획

OF@TEIN 대상국의 NREN과의 협의를 통해 SmartXRack 설치지역의 TEIN 네트워크를 연동한다. VLAN 기반으로 안정적인 네트워크를 제공하지 못하는 점에 대한 해결책으로 하드웨어 기반의 터널링 솔루션을 적용하여 OpenFlow 기반의 SDN 네트워킹이 가능하도록 준비한다.

[그림 17]과 같이 Capsulator Server를 이용하여 L2 터널링 솔루션으로 GIST와 연동을 한후 OpenFlow를 이용한 SDN망을 구축하고 성능측정을 위해 perfsonar 와 영상 스트리밍을 통해 테스트를 진행한다. OF@TEIN 각대상국과 TEIN 망으로 연동을 하여 OpenFlow 네트워크 통신을 테스트 한다. VM으로 가상의 서버를 PF@KOREN의 NOX를 이용하여 OpenFlow 네트워크로 구성한다. 설치후 iperf , DVTS 화상연결 테스트 성능을 측정한다.

■ ASTI는 APAN과 TEIN 두개의 국제 회선을 운영하고 있음 (APAN 155M, TEIN 45M (22M ratelimit).

■ ASTI@HK와 TEIN link는 물리적으로는 1G 연결이나 Rate-limit로 22M로 제한하 고 있음 SmartX랙 구성 전 ASTI는 APAN이 BestPath였으나, BGP Policy, Static route 등으로 TEIN을 Best Path로 조정함.

■ APAN과 TEIN Iperf 측정 결과, 각각 50-55Mbps, 10-15Mbps 성능을 보이고 있음

4.5.3 네트워크 연결 구성

■ Hanoi University of Science and Technology (HUST) 망의 상태의 편차가 컸다. 첫 테스트 때에는 약 100Mbps의 속도가 측정되었으나, 그 후의 테스트에서는 1~2 Mbps의 결과가 나왔다. 회선의 상태가 안정적이지 않았다.
