OGR 1 – Fantastic Voyage.

Chosen Bioscientific scenario

Out of the 4 Bioscientific scenario's that Dr. Klappa gave us, I have decided to choose the Zika Virus as my scenario, My idea will be based around a foreign body(The virus) attacking a city (the cell) that’s surrounded by a protective shield (The Cell membrane).

Chosen Audience• My main audience is going to be the young teen age group, around

the ages of 13 to 15.• I have chosen this demographic due to the fact that at this age

young teens are typically in secondary school education and are beginning to learn about certain elements of the human body, that includes the internal workings of the human body such as cells that the Zika virus are targeting.

• Finally as I have decided to create my animation around the premise of a war between virus and cell this could grab the attention of normally non active students in the science classroom due to them not being excited about the subject matter however, with this idea I would like to focus more on the cinematic aspect so at first the students watching would not guess that it is about a biological process and just a war between “alien” and “human” until the end where it will be displayed as the Zika attacking cells and winning giving a form of gut punch feeling.

Market Research

• I personally spoke to a couple of young teens about this idea and they believed that showing animations or short films in class would also aid in gaining the attention of the class “I do because more people would pay attention to an animation due to most people in the modern world enjoying animation as well as it might show them science from a perspective they have never though about before” – Jordan (age 13).
