Do you want to improve your English skills before applying to an American university?

NOTrE DAmE’S ENglISh lANguAgE INSTITuTE (ElI)

•Year-round sessions for women and men are offered with start dates in January, March, June, August and October.

•Students earn a certificate upon successful completion of the program.•ELI students are included in the University community with access to all campus

facilities and activities.•Experienced faculty members with master’s degrees in Teaching English to

Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL) assist students from more than 25 different countries each year.

•Washington DC, the nation’s capital, is just 57 kilometers away, and New York City and Philadelphia are a few hours away by train or car.

•Notre Dame is part of the Baltimore Collegetown consortium (baltimorecollegetown.org). That means our students are neighbors with 120,000 other students on 15 nearby campuses including Loyola University Maryland, Towson University and Johns Hopkins University.

*While at Notre Dame, students can cross-register for courses at six area colleges including Johns Hopkins University and Loyola University Maryland.

For the fourth consecutive year, Notre Dame has been named to “Great Schools, Great Prices by U.S. News & World Report in their annual ranking of schools offering high quality academic programs for significant value. International students may apply for scholarships. International applicants are considered for financial need in the same way as domestic applicants. Typically, 95% of Notre Dame students receive some financial aid through scholarships.

ADmISSIONS AND ENglISh PrOFIcIENcY International students follow the same application procedures for Women’s College or College of Adult Undergraduate Studies admissions (ndm.edu/admissions). In addition, international students are required to submit a TOEFL, IELTS or SAT score or complete Notre Dame’s English Language Institute certificate program. coed programs are available in the College of Adult Undergraduate Studies and in the College of Graduate Studies.

•Choose from 30 undergraduate programs in the arts and sciences, education and nursing. Small classes ensure you receive support from faculty members who are committed to your success. Faculty/student ratio is just 12/1.

•Graduate and certificate programs are available in the arts and sciences, education and nursing. Doctoral programs are available in education and pharmacy.

Where is Notre Dame of maryland university?•Notre Dame’s 58-acre campus is located in a lovely residential area of Baltimore City with

easy access to the city’s many cultural and recreational resources.•The campus is a quick 10-minute drive to the train station and 30 minutes from

Baltimore International Airport.

Our beautiful 58-acre wooded campus, set in a quiet historic neighborhood filled with tree-lined streets, is safe and is patrolled by University security 24 hours a day for added safety.

Baltimore's Inner Harbor is one of the most visited areas of the city. It has been a major seaport since the 1700s and is now filled with world-class attractions.

Locals and visitors alike enjoy exploring Baltimore’s many unique neighborhoods that offer a variety of dining, cultural and nightlife experiences.
