Fiber Optic Outdoor Drop Cable

Opterna outdoor flat drop cable is constructed with one or two single mode fiber (ITU-T G.652D). The cable is protected by a dielectric strength member made of fiberglass reinforced plastic (FRP), steel wire and a LSZH outer jacket.

Designed for outdoor installation the cable is well suited for connections between the dome closure and small dwelling unit/ warehouse and independent villas.

Utilizing a 250μm fiber, the cable unit is suitable for use with industry standard connector.

Fiber Optic Patchcords and Pigtails

Opterna offers high performance patchcords and pigtails for use in all types of fiber optic networks. The Opterna® patchcords & pigtails are manufactured using state-of-the-art controlled manufacturing processes to operate over a wide range of wavelengths, ranging from 850nm - 1300nm for Multimode and 1310nm - 1550nm for Singlemode fiber. Opterna patchcords and pigtails are terminated with high quality connectors, which provide low insertion loss and high return loss. Each patchcord or pigtail is individually tested and supplied with test certificates. The unique serial number provides traceability of every single product.

Fused 1x2 (2 x2) Splitters

Opterna High Performance Bidirectional Single Mode Splitters are used to split light from one fiber into two output fiber lines with ultra low loss. It also can be used to combine light from two fibers into one. It is a compact, fused, all fiber technology device. Manufactured using state-of-the-art Fused Bi-conical Taper process (FBT), they exhibit uniform performance over entire optical spectrum from 1260 to 1600nm with near zero loss. The epoxyfree optical path provides good power handling capability.

Opterna fused splitter uses highly reliable and specialized packaging technology, providing excellet thermal stability and long life. The advanced packing ensures very good stability under vibration and impact, making these splitters ideal for outdoor applications. Opterna splitters are available in both 1x2 and 2x2 configuration with different package and connector types to cater most applications.

Fused Multimode Splitters

Opterna High Performance Bidirectional Multimode Splitters are used to split light from one fiber into two output fiber lines with ultra low loss. It also can be used to combine light from two fibers into one. It is a compact, fused, all fiber technology device. They are manufactured using state-of-the-art Fused Bi-conical Taper process (FBT) on graded index fibers with core diameters of 50um or 62.5um. Opterna’s Multimode splitters are commonly used in short distance communications with LED sources operating at 1310nm or 850nm. They are wavelength independent over a broad range of wavelengths with uniform modal power distribution launch condition.

Opterna’s MM fused splitters use highly reliable and specialized packaging technology, providing excellent thermal stability and long life. Opterna splitters are available in both 1x2 and 2x2 configuration with different package and connector types to cater most applications.

It is used in Erbium doped fiber amplifiers (EDFA) and telecommunication networks for monitoring the signal strength of different channels. Mode Conditioning Patchcords

Opterna Mode Conditioning Patchcord (MCP) is designed for long wave (LX) multimode applications of Gigabit Ethernet. It is compliant with the IEEE 802.3z application standard. The purpose of Mode Conditioning Patchcord is to condition the launch to ensure specified link lengths and it should be inserted on both ends of a link to interface between a single mode adapter card and a multimode cable plant. They are used to minimize Differential Mode Delay (DMD) which can occur when a singlemode laser source is launched into the center of a multimode fiber.

The most common use for MCP is long wave Gigabit Ethernet applications (1000BASE-LX) in which a 1310nm single mode transceiver is being deployed into an existing multimode fiber plant. Opterna MCP uses the most reliable offset method that launches laser source away from the center of the multimode fiber. This ensures effective bandwidth for the system, closer to that measured by over-filled launch method.

Opterna MCP assembly offers the same reliability of a standard patchcord. They are available in all connector styles with 2.5 or 1.25mm ferrules and common multimode fiber types (50 & 62.5ìm).

MT Modular Patch Panels

The MT modular patch panels are a part of Opterna’s comprehensive MT modular connectivity system for data centers and other. In order to enable the optimum balance between accessibility and density, a range of 1U and 3U fixed and sliding modular solutions are available. All panels are based on the IEC 60297-3 standard.

1U modular panel:The 1U MT modular patch panel is a cost effective solution for routing and patching array fiber optic cables (MTP/MPO). It has 3 slots for loading pre-terminated modular MT cassettes or adapter plates. When fully loaded this panel offers up to 36 SC, 72 LC or 18 MT connections in 1U. Two options are available - fixed and sliding (drawer type).

3U modular panel:The 3U Chassis has 12 slots and provides a very high density solution. It is ideal in situations where floor and rack space utilization is critical and Moves Adds and Changes (MACS) are limited. Although it is a high density solution, the 3U chassis is designed with finger access in mind, striking the optimum balance between space utilization and access. This chassis enables a maximum of 12 cassettes or adapter plates to be installed, offering up to 144 SC or 288 LC connections in 1U.In order to improve the physical security, a lockable metal cover can be installed. The cover also includes a 1U protected cable management duct.

Opterna fiber optic loose tube cable features a central tube design surrounded by glass yarn. This dielectric single jacket central loose tube cable is a UV-stabilized and fully water blocked cable for outdoor duct applications (PE outer jacket) or Indoor/Outdoor applications (LSZH outer jacket).

The loose tube design provides stable and highly reliable transmission parameters for a variety of voice, data, video and imaging applications.

Opterna’s Optical Distribution Box (ODB) Series 100 is a robust outdoor-rated enclosure designed for FTTH networks in single dwelling, multi-dwelling and multi-tenant applications, where it serves as a distribution box for up to 8 subscribers.

Available in two sizes, the ODB 100 features an internal swing panel with a rear splice area that accommodates PLC splitters, splices and excess fiber storage. Opterna’s Planar Lightwave Circuits (PLC) splitters are manufactured using silica glass waveguide circuits and extremely precise alignment of optic fibers in very small package. Opterna offers a complete range of pre-terminated multi-fiber assemblies in a variety of cable and connector configurations. Our high-quality factory terminated and tested assemblies are used for simple point to point links or to install a complete fiber optic network.

The cabling is fully compatible with all standard cable management accessories and requires no special tools or expertise to install. The cables are fitted with a protective gland to protect the connectors during installation and a special pulling head that is attached to the cable strength member allows the cable to be pulled through ducts without applying load to the terminations.

Pre-terminated assemblies can also be customized to cater the customer’s specific performance requirement, application migration plan and installation environment.

WALL MOUNT CABINETS - RECESSED

Opterna recessed cabinet are the administration and distribution point for voice, fax, data networking, video entertainment, internet access and all other voice / data / video home solutions. This versatile cabinet flush mounts to a wall.

The cabinets are designed to hold FTTx equipment comfortably. Opterna recessed cabinets are designed to hold 19” rack mounted equipment and are also available in non 19” formats. The cabinet features a lockable glass door, adjustable front profiles and removable gland plates at the top and bottom. Two different versions are available, fixed design and removable front cover.

Shuttered SC Patch Cables

Even when using shuttered fiber optic adapters in FTTH deployment there is a risk of accidental exposure to laser light: when the patch cable on the premises side is connected to the wall outlet but unplugged from the active equipment (ONT or ONU) the standard SC patch cables do not offer any protection. The Opterna shuttered SC patch is a unique products developed for FTTH and FTTD application. It has a spring loaded mechanism inside which secures the patch cable immediately after it is disconnected and this way eliminates this treat of exposure to the invisible laser light. Like all the The Opterna patchcords & pigtails the shuttered SC patch cords are manufactured in state-of-the-art controlled manufacturing processes to operate over a wide range of wavelengths ranging in 1310 and 1550nm windows with guaranteed low loss and reliability. Each patch cord is individually tested and supplied with test certificates. The unique serial number gives provides traceability of every single product and ensures supreme quantity.

Fiber Optic Shuttered Adapters

The Opterna shuttered adapters are designed specially to suit the high safety requirements of the FTTH networks. The shutters are designed to prevent ingress of dust and accidental laser exposure. The spring loaded shutters will remain closed when the connector is unplugged and prevents exposure to laser. All adapters are manufactured in standard colors for identifying UPC and APC end face finishing of the connectors. Opterna fiber optic adapters are manufactured strictly according the international standards, fully compatible with all types of equipment. The Opterna shuttered adapters have the same high quality optical performance as the standard non shuttered ones.

Sliding Fiber Optic Patch Panel

The Opterna Fiber Optic 19” Sliding Patch Panel has been designed to facilitate internal fiber management and also to maximize fiber density in 1U, 2U heights.

The sliding tray provides easy access to fiber cabling, making this panel ideal for ‘Pay as you Grow’ applications. The mild steel construction and its black or grey powder coated finish makes this panel a high quality solution for any fiber optic installation, including Data Centers, FTTX and Telecommunications.

The panel supports 24 way and 48 way configurations in SC Simplex, SC Duplex, ST/FC (D cut out), LC Duplex (SC simplex foot print), LC Quad (SC Duplex foot print). Versions are available with MTP MPO cutouts on the back for use with pre-terminated MTP/MPO trunks.

The telescopic fiber optic patch panel offers excellent flexibility during mounting and installation. Mainly used for distribution and splicing of feeder or distribution fiber cables. The patch panel features an improved staggered adaptor design for easy access to the connectors and patch cords during maintenance and fiber patching.

A sliding telescopic tray feature is incorporated to facilitate easy access for maintenance and also allows the tray to be released from the patch panel for maintenance. The telescopic patch panel is constructed of high quality steel that makes it study and durable. The panel is powder coated to ensure durability.
