The mushroom growth of man-made structures e. g. wind energy plants

or produc�on pla�orms in na�onal and interna�onal waterbodies will

unavoidable affect the safety and facility in mari�me traffic.

For this reason the Interna�onal Associa�on of administra�on

for sea marking / naviga�on marking (IALA) published in their

“Recommenda�on O-139 – On the marking of man-made offshore

structures” a series of direc�ons.

These recommenda�ons of IALA serve as the basis for na�onal

authori�es and water and shipping authori�es to develop guidelines for

the marking of offshore structures.

According to country, offshore structure or project the prescribed

components can vary, so that there is no economically jus�fiable

standard solu�on.

For your offshore project the Offshore SCADA System (OSS) offers a project-specific overall solu�on regarding the auditory and visual naviga�on for shipping traffic safety as well as the integra�on of customized hardware.

The complex OSS consists of hardware and so�ware components which can be assembled to your project-specific overall solu�on. These components are par�cularly:

• Components requiring official approval (referring to the direc�ves, e. g. german BSH, IALA etc): • Naviga�on lights • Fog horns • Visibility sensors • Closed circuit television vision (CCTV) components inclusive server system • AIS components • Illumina�on signs (iden�fica�on for offshore structures)

The backup of all func�onali�es in case of power failure is guaranteed by an intelligent UPS system to cover the project-specific requirements.

The integra�on of OSS into the opera�on management concept can be car-ried out in a variety of ways via modern “Cisco” network engineering:

• Integra�on into the WTG SCADA via web server technology• Integra�on into the WTG SCADA via digital and analogue inputs and via protocol (e. g. TCP / IP)• Integra�on via WTG SCADA autonomous access so�ware (web-based)

The Customer Box combines the different sub systems (e.g naviga�on lights, fog horns, measurement equipment) in one central cabinet in each turbine or jacket. The main features are:

• Power supply for all sub systems during normal opera�on and in case of power failure based on intelligent UPS system.

• Provides the communica�on interface to the WTG SCADA sytem and integrates the customer box into the whole Offshore SCADA wind farm network.
