With dressing mechanism of REISHAUER RZ400, all the axes are NC-controlled and make it feasible to accurately implement profile dressing of gears with special module, pressure angle correction, and mesh ratio modification and it ensures a stable tooth form in quality and profile. In addition, NC-controlled motion of the single diamond dressing roll requires no special tools to perform complex tooth form correction.

For manufacturing small quantities of bevel gears, Ogic’s spiral bevel gear grinders can make these gears from raw materials without the teeth being cut. With this method, prototypes or small quantities can be manufactured economically and with short delivery periods, without having to prepare gear-teeth cutting tools that are expensive and require long delivery periods.By adopting a data link system for the final grinding process, it enables the creation of gears by simply following their designs. In addition, designers can directly receive noise and load-capacity data. Following the above process, We have accumulated expertise of spiral bevel gears and hypoid gears.
Applicable systems
The computer-assisted value revised program is advocated by the Klingenberg Oericon Group. It revises the gap between the actual measurement and nominal data of bevel hypoid gear teeth in a way that’s fully automatic and efficient.

High-precision curvic couplings have long been made by a limited number of manufacturers. They have been expensive and of low quality and required long delivery periods.But since our introduction of new and effective equipment, it is now possible to manufacture high-precision curvic couplings efficiently.

By using the data link system (see the automobile industry section), which works with spiral bevel gear grinders and gear inspection machines, hypoid gear electrodes for precision-forging metal molds can be made easily.When compared to electrodes, some errors of pressure angle, skew and size occur on precision forging gears, which were finally transferred from hypoid-gear electrodes made under the nominal data.Confirm the gap of a precision-forge gear by comparing it with nominal data via a gear inspection machine. Then, re-process the gear by using KOMET to make it close to nominal data. By repeating this procedure, it is possible to make a precision forge gear with nominal tooth form data. A hypoid-gear precision forge metal mold of a transportation machinery maker uses this method to make electrodes from solid processing (processing that uses grindstones on raw materials).

The OPAL80 is a new type of high-precision gear-forming grinder that boasts a high rate of productivity. It's suited for grinding spur or helical gears with outer diameters of up to 1,000 millimeters. The forming is extremely precise, because the forming and dressing of the grindstone are done directly on the machine. As for grinding methods, the user can select whether to grind either one or both sides of a gear. Thanks to the machine's high level of performance, it's possible to grind from raw materials before the gear teeth are cut. The grinding system developed by this new concept can produce various types of gears, in small or medium quantities, for automobiles, aircraft, machine tools, vehicles, elevators, and other items at low cost yet with high precision.

Fastest delivery-time management in the industry

Ogic employs an integrated computer system consisting of production plan simulation software and Point of Production (POP) information management to meet the needs of a wide variety of products during short delivery times. The system can be adjusted per needs.
Before we installed this system, we used to draw production plans once in a week based on requests from the sales department, the capabilities of manufacturing machines and workload. However, it was hard to rearrange production plans when difficult orders suddenly emerged. To meet strict delivery times, staff were forced to work overtime, including on holidays. That pushed our costs higher.
The system employed today relies on data - including progress information, setup time, machine capabilities, number of workers, and complete date of subcontract products – to instantly form optimal production plans with priority placed on delivery dates.
The system also responds to unscheduled orders while equalizing workloads to avoid overtime work. And yet forecasts are still possible. Moreover, in the event of sudden accidents caused by inferior products or machine stoppages, disruptions can be minimized. A year since its introduction, the system has managed to halve lead time on received orders compared to the previous year.

Effective grinding processes for spiral bevel gears cut by all bevel gear-cutting systems (Gleason, Oerlikon,Klingelnberg) are possible. This grinder is used for hypoid gears and spiral-bevel gears with outer diameters of up to 420mm. What’s more, the grinder is capable of high-precision grinding for face-type coupling and Gleason-type carving coupling. In particular, it can achieve the highest level of accuracy for bevel gears, which are key parts in the aircraft industry.

Factories in which the temperature is fixed 24 hours a day to ensure products’ qualityIn Ogic’s grinding factories, the adoption of a new air-conditioning system maintains the factory with a fixed temperature for 24 hours a day and 365 days a year. This achieves a higher-precision quality management. By maintaining the factory at a fixed temperature, processing machines that are delicate in temperature and humidity are stable while operating. Gears also can avoid thermal expansion. The result is the manufacture of higher precision gears.Ogic’s quality guarantee system constantly progresses to maintain precision.
●Temperature control
We constantly determine the humidity in the factory. By controlling the quantity of cold and warm water, we adjust the temperature to a fixed degree of the air blowing through the air conditioning machines.
The new air-conditioning system using a pore ventilation board ensures the temperature is constant throughout the factory. The system ensures that the level of precision of the gears becomes higher, because the processing machines run more stably.
●Humidity control●Pore ventilation board ceiling system
The air-conditioning machine sends pressurization air, whose temperature and humidity have been adjusted, into the ceiling to pressurize the inside of the ceiling. Differences of air pressure from inside the factory make the air to go out through pore ventilation holes, like mist.Through this process, the air currents in the factory become constant. The humidity in the factory is always detected. During summer months, an air-conditioning machine performs cooling dehumidification, while in winter months, it adjusts humidity by a humidifier built in the air-conditioning machine.

Ogic will mark the 55th anniversary of its foundation in 2007. As the date approaches, we have established a set of objectives under a midterm plan aimed at making us the industry leader: sales of 2 billion yen, a 20-percent current profit rate in sales, and a 50-percent equity ratio.
We plan to establish a self-supporting accounting system for each group and division within the company to foster responsibility among personnel, so that high profits can be realized with as few workers as possible. The new personnel system, will clarify the company’s image of the ideal employee. Under the system, rewards will goto personnel who contribute to the company through their efforts and achievements. As part of company policy, we aim to develop ourselves as a technical organization whose members possess a sense of management.
As a core resource to remain competitive in manufacturing, we have decided to expand our activities in the field of master worm gears. We are proud to say we have the top market share in this field. Still, we will expand worm-gear grinders and testers, and install next-generation gear grinders of spur gears and helical gears. We will establish a firm position in this industry that will set us apart from our competitors. We acquired ISO14001 certification in June 2004 to clarify our participation in environmental conservation as well as our contributions to local communities.
Customers of Ogic gears are mainly in the machine-tool industry. We make gears under commissioned process that fully incorporate each customer’s requirements. Although it is hard to express Ogic’s unique attributes in this field, we have been making all possible efforts to establish our position in this industry. Our recent participation in the airline industry and development and trial departments in the automobile industry was aimed at expanding our customer base, and these efforts have been highly appraised.
When judging the quality of a product, there are two perspectives: the “birth” of a design and the “breeding” of production. For gears, the typical view stresses the importance of breeding (production). Although a number of companies have established manufacturing plants in China and elsewhere in Asia, most of these products can be manufactured anywhere, due to their good designs. Ogic manufactures gears with high value added, and so we will continue to stress our advantage of breeding in Japan to establish our leadership in the gear industry.

The third spiral bevel gear grinding machine was introduced to meet increased demand for spiral bevel gears. WNC30 realized improvements in the productive capacity of spiral bevel gears.
500 million yen was invested to introduce the Opal80 forming gear grinder, the spiral bevel gear grinder G30 and others, with the aim of making giant strides in our business as a precision gear manufacturer.
Eizo Tanaka, who was a director of Matsushita Metal, set up on his own company specializing in manufacturing and processing gears in Moriguchi, Osaka, as a Matsushita Electric affiliate company.
Aimed to enter new field of gears, acquired factory lot in preparation for introduction of new machines, and moved entire company to the new location.
Received investment from Small and Medium Business Investment Consultation Company, West Japan, increased our capital to 25 million yen in January, and to 65 million yen in April.
Completed a shift to the fiscal year 2000 version.
The MURG30BC gear-grinding machine was introduced as a prior investment, after the demand for high-quality gears was expected to rise. Along with its development,Ogic introduced a succession of other new machines.

By the time the quality of products become substantial, share holdings of Matsushita Electric were purchased, and the company gained independence.
The Gleason No.641 spiral bevel-gears teeth grinding machine was introduced to expand our product line and entered the market.

The Reishauer RZ300E was introduced to provide high quality products at low cost to meet our customers’requirements of high degrees of grinding precision. 1982

The introduction of the W800CNC enabled Ogic to produce grinding spiral bevel gears that were used only in limited fields.
1991
To establish our corporate identity, we tried to remold awareness about the company. As part of this reform, we changed the company name to Ogic Co., Ltd.
1991
The introduction of the second Klingelnberg KNC40 grinder made enabled Ogic to manufacture all kinds of spiral bevel gears.
Newly constructed building factory had a new air conditioning system that maintains a fixed temperature and humidity for 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. The fully controlled quality guarantee system was set up. The company aims to make further development as a manufacturer specializing in precision gears.
