Estamos preparando todo para que laAGO se celebre el último jueves deMarzo como viene siendo habitual, demodo que será el día 30 de Marzo enel club la Naranja, sito en calleMálaga.Las convocatorias se estánpreparando para enviarlas a todos losmiembros con la antelación suficiente.Estas convocatorias se envían porcorreo certificado e incluyen el Ordendel Día, la lista de morosos, larepresentación para el voto deaquellos que no puedan asistir, eldocumento para presentar lacandidatura y el informe anual con lascuentas anuales auditadas y lapropuesta del presupuesto.En el caso de comunidades laconvocatoria se enviará al presidentede la misma.

Los estatutos establecen el plazonecesario para presentar laspropuestas de propietarios, para quepuedan ser tratadas en la AGO asícomo el plazo para presentar lascandidaturas a la Junta Directiva de laEUC.

In thecase of Communities, the summonswill be sent to the President of thesame.

The Statutes state the time limitnecessary to present ownersproposals for them to be talked aboutat the AGM as well as the time limit forpresenting candidatures to the Boardof Directors of the EUC.


El día anterior a la fecha previs-ta para la fiesta las predicciones meteorológicas eran horribles, por la mañana se esperaban tormen-tas eléctricas y por la tarde chapa-rrones fuertes, al final hizo un día espectacularmente bueno, pero ya habíamos decidido no celebrarla por el riesgo que suponía para los niños estar bajo una arboleda con una tormenta eléctrica, además de pagar todos los gastos y no poder disfrutar de ese día. Por eso deci-dimos atrasarla, y fue el mundial de fútbol el que decidió la fecha, día 14 de julio por la tarde. La afluencia de gente fue mayor que nunca, los ni-ños disfrutaron de sus juegos y los mayores de una noche de fiesta con música y baile que fue muy diverti-da.

The day before the party the weather forecast was dreadful, during the morning an electric storm was expected and in the afternoon rain. It turned out to be a wonderful day after all, but we had already decided not to celebrate it as it was risky for the children under the trees with an electric storm as well as having to pay for all the expenses and not being able to enjoy them. This is why we decided to delay the party and it was due to the football world cup that the date was the 14th of July in the afternoon. There were more people there than ever before, children enjoyed their games and adults enjoyed a party night with music and dancing that was very enjoyable.

La Asociación de Urbanizaciones cuenta con una nueva presidenta, Karin E. Hansen de la urbaniza-ción La Alquería. El Sr. Nozal al ser candidato al Ayuntamiento de Mijas por el Partido Popular en las próxi-mas elecciones no podía continuar como presidente en la asociación al ser esta de carácter apolítico. La asociación esta implicada en nume-rosos temas de interés para el mu-nicipio y sigue solicitando servicios para las urbanizaciones, servicios que nuestro ayuntamiento presta en los distintos núcleos urbanos.

The Association of Urbanisations has a new President, Karin E. Hansen of La Alquería urbanisation. As Mr. Nozal is one of the candidates for Mayor of Mijas Town Hall for the Popular Group in the next elections he cannot continue as president of the association as it is non-political. The association is involved in many matters of interest for the municipality and continues requesting services for urbanisations, services that our Town Hall supplies in several urban areas.

ELECTORAL REGISTEREMPADRONAMIENTO

The Board of Directors of Sitio de Calahonda is once more asking you and your neighbours to ensure that you use your vote in next year’s local Town Hall elections due to take place in May. In order to vote you must first be registered on the electoral register and if you have not yet registered you have only until the 30th November 2006 to do so. The process is an easy one requiring you to visit the Town Hall in Mijas or the office in La Cala where you will be asked for either a copy of the title deed (escritura) of your property or a rental agreement and your passport or residencia (if you have one). A copy of the Census Voting Form that you will be required to fill in is available at the Community Office and you will see that information on how to fill it in is provided in English, French and German. However, should anyone require any help in filling in the Census Form then please come to the Community Office where the staff will be pleased to help you.

Urbanisations such as Sitio de Calahonda do not exist in the budget of Mijas Town Hall and you therefore, have to rely on the Community of Owners to look after the maintenance of the streets, (nearly 30 kilometres), street lighting, cleaning and security. All of these services should be provided by the Town Hall but they are not, we receive nothing, yet we pay our taxes to them. In order to change this situation we must show those in power at the Town Hall that we intend to do something about this injustice and the only way that they are going to take notice is if they see an increase in the number of people voting in the local election.

The figures published by Mijas Town Hall on the number of people living in the municipality of Mijas show that there are 24,068 of different nationalities, of which 11,045 are from the UK, 1,547 from Germany, 1,226 from Morocco, 1,187 from Denmark and 821 from the Netherlands, other countries include Sweden, Finland and Argentina. These figures are of course taken from the official census and we are sure that you would agree with us that they do not represent the true situation. There are thousands more who live here but as yet have not registered. Now is the time to do so, it is URGENT that you take the opportunity to ensure that you and your family and your neighbours are registered, please remember that you only have until the end of November to do this.

Finally we would remind you that costs are rising year on year within our urbanisation and that surely the Town Hall of Mijas should be prepared to pay something from the taxes we pay to help maintain Calahonda. Please help the Board of Directors and yourselves by making sure that you are registered and that you use your vote next May.

La Junta Directiva de Sitio de Calahonda les pide una vez más a Ud. y a sus vecinos que se aseguren de usar su derecho a voto en las elecciones municipales que se celebrarán en Mayo de 2007. Para poder votar deben estar registrados en el censo electoral, y si no están re-gistrados todavía, tienen hasta el 30 de noviembre 2006 para hacerlo. El proceso es muy sencillo, tienen que ir al Ayuntamiento en Mijas o La Cala donde le pedirán una copia de la escritura de su propiedad o del contrato de arrendamiento y su pasaporte o tarjeta de residencia (si la tiene). En nuestras oficinas hay copias del impreso para darse de alta en el censo electoral, podrán comprobar que las instrucciones para rellenar el impreso están en inglés, francés y alemán. Sin embargo, si necesitan ayu-da para rellenar el impreso nosotros podemos ayudarles, estaremos encantados de atenderles.

Urbanizaciones como Sitio de Calahonda no existen en el presupuesto del Ayuntamiento de Mijas y por tanto tienen que depender de una comunidad de propietarios para que mantengan sus calles (casi 30 kms.), alumbra-do público, limpieza y seguridad. Todos estos servicios deberían darlos el Ayuntamiento, pero no lo hacen, no recibimos nada, aunque sí les pagamos los impuestos. Para cambiar esta situación, tenemos que demostrarles a aquellos que tienen poder en el Ayuntamiento, que pre-tendemos hacer algo contra esta injusticia y la única ma-nera de hacernos notar es que vean que el número de votantes para las elecciones municipales aumenta.

Los datos publicados por el Ayuntamiento de Mijas re-velan que el número de personas que viven en el muni-cipio de Mijas son 24.068 de diferentes nacionalidades, de los cuales 11.045 son del Reino Unido, 1.547 de Ale-mania, 1.226 de Marruecos, 1.187 de Dinamarca y 821 de Países Bajos, otros países incluyen Suecia, Finlandia y Argentina. CAMPEONATOS DE GOLF EN EL CLUB DE GOLF LA SIESTA

The Pitch and Putt senior championship of Spain was held at La SiestaGolf Club. Players of over 55 years and over 50 years participated.The championship finished with the handing over of the trophies, with thepresence of the Mayor, Mr. Agustín Moreno, the President of La Siesta GolfClub, Mr. Álvaro Mata and the President of the urbanisation Sitio deCalahonda, Mrs. Coral Castronuño. In the women’s category, in the scratch,Ana Rosa Fernández took the title. In handicap Guadalupe Hernández wonand in the special category, Blanca Valencia. In men, the best scratch wasfor Fructuoso Amatías. The handicap was won by José Antonio García.

In men’s special categories Luis Maza was first, Álvaro Mata second andSebastián Coronín third. The special categories were the last to be givenand in which Carlos Muñóz was the winner. After the national success, themembers of the Golf Spanish Federation and the host club announced thatLa Siesta Golf would also hold the International Senior Pitch & PuttChampionship next Spring.A great national success held at La Siesta Golf.

En el Campeonato de España Senior de “Pitch and Putt”, celebrado en LaSiesta Golf, han participado jugadores mayores de 55 años y jugadorasmayores de 50. El campeonato finalizaba con la entrega de trofeos, queestuvo presidida por el alcalde del municipio, Agustín Moreno; elpresidente del club de Golf La Siesta, Álvaro Mata; y la presidenta de laUrbanización Sitio de Calahonda, Coral Castronuño. INFORMATIVE MEETINGSESIÓN INFORMATIVA

The informative meeting is an ideal occasion to inform about the happenings in our urbanisation. It is held every three months and matters of general interest to all the owners are talked about. On this occasion, 12th of July, not many owners attended the meeting, although it is also true that we only gave notice of this meeting a few days beforehand, a mistake that will be corrected in the future. The matters discussed at the meeting were mainly:

Those regarding the collection of domestic rubbish by LIMUSA and we handed out a complaint letter that the owners received with great interest.

The results of the security hut at the entrance of Avda. de España.

The actions carried out for the water supply contract in 2007.

Census - of nearly 20.000 neighbours that the Town Hall recognises lives in our urbanisation, only just over 15% are registered.

The next informative meeting will be held on the 25th of October at 10:30 a.m. at Club La Naranja. The matter arising will be the new water contract. We hope you can all attend.

La sesión informativa es la ocasión ideal para que dis-tendidamente se informe de los acontecimientos sucedi-dos en nuestra urbanización, se celebra cada tres meses y se tratan asuntos de interés de todos los propietarios. En esta última reunión, el pasado 12 de julio, acudieron po-cos propietarios, aunque también es cierto que avisamos de la misma con solo unos días de antelación, esperamos hacerlo mejor en próximas ocasiones. De los asuntos tra-tados los que mayor interés despertaron fueron:

Los relativos a la recogida de basura domestica por parte de LIMUSA, allí mismo repartimos el formulario de queja, iniciativa que despertó gran interés por parte de los propietarios.

El resultado de la caseta de vigilancia de la entrada de Avda de España.

Las gestiones realizadas para la contratación del ser-vicio de agua en 2007.

Empadronamiento, de los casi 20.000 vecinos que el ayuntamiento reconoce que viven en nuestra urbaniza-ción solo hay empadronados poco más de un 15%.

La próxima reunión informativa se celebrará el día 25 de octubre a las 10:30hrs. en el club La Naranja. El tema a tratar será el nuevo contrato de agua. Es-peramos la asistencia de todos.

CHILDREN´S PARKS

Como ustedes habrán podido comprobar los juegos para niños que había en el parque sobre la autopista y en el parque vivero han sido sustituidos por otros nuevos que cumplen con la nueva normativa europea aplicable a los juegos infantiles en la que se especifica el tipo de juegos y los materiales con los que han de estar construidos. En el caso del Parque Infantil de Av. de España nos hemos visto en la obligación de quitarlos. Esto se debe a que solicitamos al Ayuntamiento el cambio de los mismos, y aunque en un principio nos dijeron que nos iban a facilitar dichos juegos, no nos lo han concedido. Como este parque lo hizo el Ayuntamiento seguimos insistiendo para que ellos los cambien. Recientemente se han puesto en contacto con nosotros para pedir información sobre el parque y presupuestar unos juegos nuevos, pero al día de la fecha no tenemos conocimiento de que haya tomado alguna decisión al respecto.

As you will have noticed, the children’s seesaws in the parks have been changed, although in the case of the park in Avda. de España they have had to be removed. This is because we have to fulfil the European laws on parks and gardens that specify the type of play equipment and materials out of which they must be

built and the ones in this park did not fulfil these rules.

We requested the Town Hall to change those of the park in Avda. de España and although they did say they would bring us some seesaws, they haven’t done so. As this park was made by the Town Hall, we continue to insist that they change the play equipment for

the children and some personnel from the Town Hall got in touch with us asking for information about the park and suggested some new play equipment but we are not sure of the results of these conversations.

Como todos los años tratamos que durante la época estival no se lleven a cabo grandes obras para molestar lo menos posible a los vecinos que disfrutan de sus vacaciones. Por tanto, la mayoría de los esfuerzos de los servicios operativos se destinan al mantenimiento y limpieza de la urbanización. No obstante ha sido necesario realizar la reparación de tramos de aceras en las calles Granada, Huelva, Almería y Cipreses. Al mismo tiempo y debido al desarrollo de nuevas promociones al final de la calle Huelva ha sido necesario proceder a la instalación del alumbrado público del final de dicha calle así como a la iluminación de una de las rotondas principales del nuevo vial que conecta esta calle con la calle José de Orbaneja.

Por otro lado, y tras la reunión mantenida con los concejales municipales acerca del nuevo vial, se solicitó que el Ayuntamiento realizara la señalización viaria del mismo al contar con una máquina de señalización. Tras un largo periodo de espera, se recibió un escrito denegando nuestra solicitud por lo que deberá ser la propia E.U.C. la que realice este trabajo. Una vez más hemos podido comprobar como el Ayuntamiento no hace el mínimo esfuerzo en colaborar con las urbanizaciones.

INFRASTRUCTURESINFRAESTRUCTURAS

As in previous years we have tried not to carry out any large works during the summertime to avoid annoyance to the neighbours who are on holiday. Therefore the personnel’s efforts are aimed towards the maintenance and cleaning of the urbanisation. Nevertheless, we have had to repair segments of pavement in calle

Granada, Huelva, Almería and Cipreses. At the same time, and due to the construction of new developments at the end of calle Huelva, it has been necessary to install public lighting at the end of said street as well as installing the public lighting at one of the main round-abouts of the new road that connects to calle José de Orbaneja.

After a long wait, we received a letter rejecting our request so it will have to be the E.U.C. who carries out this work. Esta solución seríasatisfactoria para nosotros y para el ayuntamiento pero seha enquistado porque se necesita permiso de laConfederación Hidrográfica del Sur y por ahora no ha dadolos permisos pertinentes para que la nueva tubería pasepor el embovedado del arroyo. También le solicitamos lainstalación de nuevos elementos de juegos en el ParqueInfantil de la Av. de España por otros que estén en mejorescondiciones y se ajusten más a la nueva normativa sobreesta materia. El Sr. Marín se comprometió en facilitarnoslos elementos necesarios nuevos para dicho parque.

Por otro lado, son muchos los residentes que nospreguntan constantemente acerca de la ocupación de lavía pública por parte de los diferentes comercios, por ellopasamos a presentar un pequeño resumen de un articuloaparecido en el mes de diciembre de Mijas Semanal.

El verano, y como es natural la carencia de agua, nos ha dejado una gran cantidad de zonas verdes muy secas y por tanto hemos dedicado grandes esfuerzos a la lim-pieza de las mismas para evitar en lo posible el riesgo de incendios. Por otro lado la recogida de basura de jardín se ha realizado regularmente, de tal forma que apenas se han acumulado restos de podas en las calles. Igual-mente se han reforzado los servicios operativos para que se pudiese llevar a cabo una limpieza periódica de las calles y así evitar la acumulación de suciedad en la épo-ca de verano y tratar de que la urbanización presente un buen aspecto durante estas fechas de mayor afluencia de personas.

Plaga en palmeras. “escarabajo de las palmeras” Se ha detectado en el municipio de Mijas una plaga que

afecta a las palmeras, excepto a la variedad de washing-tonias. La sequedad de las hojas del cogollo constituye el principal síntoma. Les rogamos se pongan en contacto con el departamento de Medio Ambiente del Ayuntamien-to si descubren que sus palmeras tienen la mencionada enfermedad. Esta plaga es originada por un escarabajo procedente del sudeste asiático y que responde al enre-vesado nombre de ‘curculionido ferruginoso’. Sus larvas devoran el árbol, empezando por el cogollo. Es posible realizar un tratamiento preventivo para evitar su contagio y al mismo tiempo matar las larvas si está en el inicio de su evolución, pero si el virus se encuentra muy avanzado, la única solución pasa por talar la palmera para evitar el contagio a otras. Para evitar que esto suceda hay que tratar la palmera con diversos productos. Desde aquí la EUC le aconsejamos que se asesoren por expertos antes de realizar cualquier tipo de actuación, puesto que parece que la aplicación de los productos no se puede hacer en-tre el 15 de diciembre y 15 de febrero aproximadamente y debe de realizarse en 4 ocasiones durante el resto del año.

Vallas publicitarias Recientemente se han retirado unas 500 vallas de las

carreteras de Málaga por distraer a los conductores ya que, al parecer, hay carteles tan llamativos que distorsio-nan la atención al volante y ponen en riesgo la circulación. Existe además una ley obliga a quitarlos cuando están fuera de tramos urbanos.

El Ministerio de Fomento y la Delegación de Obras Pú-blicas de la Junta de Andalucía lo tienen claro, las carre-teras estatales y comárcales están llenas de carteles ile-

Palm tree plague “palm tree beetle”

In the municipality of Mijas, a plague that affects palm trees, except w a s h i n g t o n i a palm trees, has been detected. The dryness of the leaves in the centre is the main symptom. Please contact the Environment Department of the Town Hall if you notice that your palm trees could have this illness. This plague is originated by a beetle that comes from Southeast Asia and its scientific name is “curculionido ferruginoso”. Their larva eats the tree, starting from the centre. A prevention treatment can be carried out to avoid them being infected and at the same time kill any larva that may have started to appear. If the virus is very advanced the only solution is that of cutting down the tree to avoid it infecting others. To avoid this, the palm trees should be treated with several products. From the E.U.C. we advise you to ask an expert before doing anything as the products shouldn’t be applied between the 15th of December and the 15th of February approximately and the spraying should be done 4 times throughout the rest of the year.

Advertisement hoardings Recently 500 advertisement hoardings have been

removed from the roads in Málaga for distracting drivers. Apparently, there are some advertisements that are so gaudy that they attract drivers’ attention in such a way that it becomes dangerous. There is also a law that requires them to be removed when they are outside of

Playas.Por otro lado, la asociación de ur-

banizaciones ha emprendido una campaña para que nuestras playas se mantengan limpias, tanto el agua como la arena, y para ello se ha ela-borado un escrito tipo con lo que se está solicitando, cuantos mas veci-nos rellene este escrito más presión se puede hacer ante las autoridades, es evidente que las playas cercanas a nuestra urbanización están un poco dejadas. La E.U.C. está totalmente a favor de esta campaña, sobre todo teniendo en cuenta el estado tan la-mentables de nuestras playas. Ya se ha mandado en varias ocasiones escritos a los representan-tes municipales y de la Junta de Andalucía. El escrito está a su disposición en la oficina de la urbanización, por tanto pue-den venir a solicitarlo o ponerse en contacto con nosotros para que se lo enviemos por e-mail. Rogamos a todos los propietarios que hagan un esfuerzo y pidan al ayuntamiento una mejora de las playas, de este modo podríamos contar con unas playas más limpias.

Basura doméstica: reclamaciones.Al comenzar el verano el servicio de recogida de ba-

sura domestica ha resultado insuficiente o deficiente, por ello desde la oficina de la E.U.C. se realizaron numerosas quejas al Ayuntamiento y a la empresa LIMUSA, que es la empresa concesionaria encargada de la recogida de basura doméstica en el municipio. Les informamos de la posibilidad de que, como propietarios realicen una recla-mación por la deficiencia de este servicio a través de una formulario elaborado por la oficina de la E.U.C. donde pue-den reflejar el problema que sufren. Ya han sido muchos los vecinos que han utilizado este camino y gracias a ello, parece que el servicio está mejorando. Recientemente se ha puesto un refuerzo, mediante un camión de recogida que acude a nuestra urbanización por las mañanas.

Queremos recordarles que el servicio de recogida de basura doméstica es realizado por el Ayuntamiento de Mijas y que lo tiene subcontratado a la empresa LIMUSA, y que pagan una tasa anual al Ayuntamiento por la reco-gida de la misma y otra por el tratamiento en la planta de reciclaje. Letters have been sent on several occasions to the municipal representatives and to the Junta de Andalucía. The standard letter is at your disposal in the office of the urbanisation where you can ask for a copy or contact us and we will send it to you by e-mail. We kindly ask all owners to make an effort and ask the Town Hall to improve the beaches, this way we would have cleaner beaches.

Household rubbish: claimsAt the beginning of the summer the domestic rubbish

collection service was insufficient or deficient and therefore from the office of the E.U.C. we have been sending many complaints to the Town Hall and the company LIMUSA, who is the company in charge of the rubbish collection in the municipality. We inform you of the possibility of making a claim, as owners, about the deficiencies of this service through a standard letter that we have prepared at the office of the E.U.C. which reflects the problems we are suffering. Many neighbours have already used this measure and thanks to that the service seems to have improved. SEGURIDAD SECURITY

We have received the reply from the Director of the Cabinet of the Ministry of the Interior, Mr. Gregorio Martínez Garrido, to the letter we sent to the Ministry enclosing the signatures collected for the Guardia Civil to stay in our municipality. In said reply they have stated the following:

“…I must point out that there is a proposal for creating a Police Station, but no decision has been definitely taken yet in this respect and that the main office in Mijas, that has 85 policemen, has been reinforced by another 20 specialists in Citizens Security. Also, the personnel of the Coast Vigilance Unit is carrying out 4/5 daily patrols in Mijas depending on the personnel available to support the main office.”

Although this letter does not ensure the permanence of the Guardia Civil in Mijas we can see the result of the actions carried out by the E.U.C. Sitio de Calahonda and the Association of Urbanisations as they have sent more policemen to the area and are conscious of the peculiar situation this municipality lives in.

Ha llegado la contestación del Director del Gabinete del Ministro del Interior, Don Gregorio Martínez Garrido, al escrito que enviamos al Ministerio acompañando las fir-mas recogidas para que la Guardia Civil permanezca en nuestro municipio, en el que se especifica lo siguiente:

“…debo indicarle que existe una propuesta de crea-ción de una comisaría de Policía, pero no se ha tomado todavía ninguna decisión al respecto y que el Puesto Prin-cipal de Mijas, que dispone de un catalogo de 85 dota-ciones, ha sido reforzado en su plantilla con 20 puestos de trabajo de especialistas en Seguridad Ciudadana. Así mismo, por componentes de la Unidad de Vigilancia del Litoral se están realizando una media de 4/5 patrullas dia-rias en Mijas, en función de la disponibilidad de efectivos, en apoyo del Puesto Principal.”

Aunque en este escrito no se comprometa en la permanencia de la Guardia Civil en Mijas se ha podido ver el resultado de las gestiones y los escritos enviados al Ministerio, por parte de la E.U.C. Sitio de Calahonda y la Asociación de Urbanizaciones, ya que han enviado más efectivos a la zona y son conscientes de la situación tan peculiar que se vive en este Municipio.

Ademásde todo esto se va a proceder a realizar las mejorasnecesarias para las medidas de seguridad señaladasdentro del capitulo de la seguridad.

En la actualidadno realizan ninguna labor de vigilancia en la urbanización ypor tanto su presencia en Sitio de Calahonda se limita arealizar notificaciones provenientes del ayuntamiento o delos juzgados, a realizar informes sobre asuntos deseñalización viaria o bien para retirar vehículosabandonados y mal estacionados.

2.- Medidas encaminadas a mejorar la seguridad en laurbanización:

a) Instalación de barreras de acceso para vehículos:Se ha estudiado la posibilidad de instalar barreras deacceso para vehículos en las distintas entradas a laurbanización. Debido a la imposibilidad de cerrar las calles(son de uso público) se ha previsto instalar barrerasmanuales que estén de forma permanente levantadas,salvo que la Guardia Civil nos solicite su cierre para realizaralgún tipo de control. La instalación de estas barreras seríarealizada de la siguiente forma:* Entrada principal (Zona Cdad. Cortijos): Se ha previsto lainstalación de 2 barreras manuales de 4 mts aprox. cadauna. La localización de las mismas será justo en laincorporación a la Avda. de España desde la rotonda yaprovechando la existencia de una pequeña medianaexistente en la zona.* Entrada Centro Comercial Cipreses Campanario: Se haprevisto igualmente la instalación de 2 barreras de 4 mts.aprox. cada una a cada lado de la calle. La situación de lasmismas será en la Avda. de España justo frente a la paradadel trenecito.* C/Huelva: Debido al diseño de dicha calle se ha previstola instalación de 2 barreras de 4 mts. aprox. cada una. Lalocalización de las mismas son a la entrada de la calleaprovechando la existencia de una mediana iluminada.

b) Instalación de garitas:Se ha previsto igualmente la instalación de una garita encada una de las entradas de la urbanización. Esta garitajunto con la barrera de seguridad actuará como unamedida disuasoria y en la misma se deberá contar con uncontrolador de seguridad de forma permanente.Inicialmente se ha previsto la instalación de una garita enla entrada principal (junto a la rotonda) para ver su

- Main entrance (Cortijos area): 2 manual barriers would beinstalled of approximately 4 metres each. They would beinstalled right at the entrance of Avda. de España from theround-about and taking advantage of the small island thatthere is in that area.- Cipreses Campanario Shopping Centre entrance:Likewise, 2 barriers of approximately 4 metres each wouldbe installed on each side of the road.They would be locatedright opposite the train stop in Avda. de España.- Calle Huelva: due to the design of this street 2 barriers ofapproximately 4 metres each. They would be put at theentrance of the street taking advantage of the illuminatedcentral reservation.

b) Security cabins installations:Also a security cabin could be installed at each entrance tothe urbanisation. These cabins, together with the securitybarriers, would suppose a deterrent measure, and theywould need a security guard there permanently. To startwith the installation of a cabin at the main entrance hasbeen foreseen (next to the round-about) to see if it is

En la actualidadno realizan ninguna labor de vigilancia en la urbanización ypor tanto su presencia en Sitio de Calahonda se limita arealizar notificaciones provenientes del ayuntamiento o delos juzgados, a realizar informes sobre asuntos deseñalización viaria o bien para retirar vehículosabandonados y mal estacionados.

2.- Medidas encaminadas a mejorar la seguridad en laurbanización:

a) Instalación de barreras de acceso para vehículos:Se ha estudiado la posibilidad de instalar barreras deacceso para vehículos en las distintas entradas a laurbanización. Debido a la imposibilidad de cerrar las calles(son de uso público) se ha previsto instalar barrerasmanuales que estén de forma permanente levantadas,salvo que la Guardia Civil nos solicite su cierre para realizaralgún tipo de control. La instalación de estas barreras seríarealizada de la siguiente forma:* Entrada principal (Zona Cdad. Cortijos): Se ha previsto lainstalación de 2 barreras manuales de 4 mts aprox. cadauna. La localización de las mismas será justo en laincorporación a la Avda. de España desde la rotonda yaprovechando la existencia de una pequeña medianaexistente en la zona.* Entrada Centro Comercial Cipreses Campanario: Se haprevisto igualmente la instalación de 2 barreras de 4 mts.aprox. cada una a cada lado de la calle. La situación de lasmismas será en la Avda. de España justo frente a la paradadel trenecito.* C/Huelva: Debido al diseño de dicha calle se ha previstola instalación de 2 barreras de 4 mts. aprox. cada una. Lalocalización de las mismas son a la entrada de la calleaprovechando la existencia de una mediana iluminada.

b) Instalación de garitas:Se ha previsto igualmente la instalación de una garita encada una de las entradas de la urbanización. Esta garitajunto con la barrera de seguridad actuará como unamedida disuasoria y en la misma se deberá contar con uncontrolador de seguridad de forma permanente.Inicialmente se ha previsto la instalación de una garita enla entrada principal (junto a la rotonda) para ver su

2.- Measures to improve the security within theurbanisation:

As it is impossible to closethe street (they are of public use) manual barriers could beinstalled that would permanently be upright unless theGuardia Civil at any time asks us to lower them for sometype of control. The installation of these barriers would becarried out in the following way:

- Main entrance (Cortijos area): 2 manual barriers would beinstalled of approximately 4 metres each. They would beinstalled right at the entrance of Avda. de España from theround-about and taking advantage of the small island thatthere is in that area.- Cipreses Campanario Shopping Centre entrance:Likewise, 2 barriers of approximately 4 metres each wouldbe installed on each side of the road.They would be locatedright opposite the train stop in Avda. de España.- Calle Huelva: due to the design of this street 2 barriers ofapproximately 4 metres each. They would be put at theentrance of the street taking advantage of the illuminatedcentral reservation.

b) Security cabins installations:Also a security cabin could be installed at each entrance tothe urbanisation. These cabins, together with the securitybarriers, would suppose a deterrent measure, and theywould need a security guard there permanently. To startwith the installation of a cabin at the main entrance hasbeen foreseen (next to the round-about) to see if it is


CONTRATO DE AGUA WATER CONTRACT

According to the decisions approved at the last General Assembly, we have started the procedure for the contracting of the water supply service for the urbanisation. The Board of Directors has named a committee in charge of this procedure that is formed by Mr. Bremner, Mr. Harboe and Mrs. Castronuño who will be assisted by Mr. Arteaga (lawyer of the E.U.C.). They are going to take the necessary steps to contract the aforementioned service and they have started work. During the month of August there has been a period of waiting in which we have taken the opportunity to study a specific law about public contracting as article 1.2 of the Law of Contracting of Public Administrations states that legal public entities, dependent or independent from Public Administrations, such as the E.U.C. Sitio de Calahonda, must adjust its contractual obligations to comply with the present law. This way the Board of Directors of the E.U.C. Sitio de Calahonda, assisted by the reports of its legal department, agreed in their last meeting the following:

1.- Consider the water supply contract signed in October 1.992 with the entity “Andaluza de Agua y Tratamientos, S.A.” as not automatically renewed based on the communication sent by the EUC to said company and in accordance with that stated on the stipulation VI of the referred contract.

2.- In accordance with the aforementioned and being necessary to have a company that gives a supply service to dwellings once the contract has ended, formally start the negotiations for the new water supply contract that will be in effect on the 1st of October 2.007.

3.- The method for the awarding of the referred contract will be adapted, as far as possible, to the ordinances of Law 48/1998 that rules the contracting procedure in sectors of water and that incorporates to the Spanish legislation the contents of the European Community 93/38/CEE and 92/13/CEE and in accordance with the principle of publicity, concurrence, equality and no discrimination.

De acuerdo con lo aprobado en la pasada Asamblea Ge-neral, se ha iniciado el proce-dimiento para la contratación del servicio de abastecimiento de agua a la urbanización. La Junta ha nombrado un comité encargado de este procedi-miento que esta integrado por el Sr. Bremner, el Sr. Harboe y

por la Sra. Castronuño que asesorados por el Sr. Arte-aga (abogado de la E.U.C.), van a ir dando los pasos necesarios para la contratación del mencionado servi-cio, dicho comité ya ha comenzado a trabajar. Durante el mes de agosto ha habido un tiempo de espera en el que se ha aprovechado para estudiar la normativa de contratación pública ya que en el artículo 1.2 de la Ley de Contratos de las Administraciones Públicas se esta-blece que las entidades de derecho publico con perso-nalidad jurídica propia, vinculadas o dependientes de las Administraciones Públicas con una serie de requisitos que la E.U.C. Sitio de Calahonda cumple debe ajustar su actividad contractual a la presente Ley. De esta for-ma La Junta Directiva de la E.U.C. Sitio de Calahonda, asesorada por los informes de su departamento jurídico, acordó en la última reunión lo siguiente:

“A la vista de las leyes y reglamentos en vigor y en cumplimiento de la competencia atribuida a la misma por el artículo 34 apartados a), d), k) y m) de los estatutos de la entidad y de conformidad con la decisión de la Asam-blea General de la EUC celebrada el día 30 de Marzo de 2.006, ha resuelto por unanimidad lo siguiente:

1.- Considerar el contrato de gestión de suministro de agua suscrito en Octubre de 1.992 con la entidad “Anda-luza de Aguas y Tratamientos S.A.” como NO renovado tácitamente en base a la comunicación dirigida por la EUC a dicha empresa y de conformidad con lo dispuesto en la estipulación VI del referido contrato.

2.- De conformidad con lo antes expuestos y resultan-do necesario contar con una empresa que preste el ser-vicio de suministro domiciliario de agua tras la finaliza-ción del actual contrato, iniciar formalmente los trámites para la celebración de un nuevo contrato de gestión de suministro de agua que entrará en efecto el día 1 de Octubre de 2.007.

3.- El procedimiento para la adjudicación del referido contrato se adecuará, en lo posible, a las disposicio-

Reuniones

Hemos mantenido una reunión con el Concejal deUrbanismo, D. Juan Jesús Cruz, en la que le planteamosuna serie de problemas entre los que se incluyen:* La paralización por parte del ayuntamiento del proyectode parque y zona deportiva sobre los terrenos situadosencima del falso túnel de la autopista frente al Alarife.* La finalización y apertura del nuevo vial de la zona norte.* Alegaciones al Plan General de Ordenación Urbana,P.G.O.U. de nuestro municipio.* Irregularidades de algunas promociones al ocupar vialespúblicos dificultando el tránsito de los residentes de laszonas afectadas, principalmente en la Calle Cristóbal Colón(Paseo de la Ermita). El concejal nos confirmó que pondríalas medidas necesarias para mejora esta situación. En todocaso seguiremos vigilando estos temas y no dudaremos enhacer todo lo que nos sea posible para evitar o corregirestos abusos.

Quedamos en mantener una reunión con la arquitectamunicipal para solucionar los puntos que le competen aldepartamento de urbanismo. Esta reunión se mantuvo amediados de Enero y nos indicó, con respecto a losterrenos sobre el falso túnel, que debíamos de pedirautorización a la concesionaria de la autopista. Una vezobtenida dicha autorización el Ayuntamiento apoyaría lapropuesta presentada por la E.U.C. Sitio de Calahonda queconsiste en crear una zona de acopio de plantas similar ala del otro lado de la C/José de Orbaneja así como lacreación de una pista deportiva múltiple con una pista dejogging.Con respecto al vial nuevo nos dijo que hablaría con elConcejal de Urbanismo para intentar encontrar unasolución a la finalización del mismo y proceder a suapertura de forma oficial.Por otro lado, también hemos estado reunidos en variasocasiones con D. Francisco Marín, Concejal de losServicios operativos. El Ayuntamiento comparte nuestrapreocupación por el estado de la red de saneamiento quetranscurre por el arroyo que delimita Sitio de Calahondacon Calipso. Expusimos una solución aceptable y quedó enmanos del ayuntamiento, de la oficina técnica de Ingenieríay del mismo concejal la solución definitiva de esteproblema. We held a meeting with the Councillor of UrbanDevelopments Mr. Juan Jesús Cruz in which we explainedseveral problems we have such as:- The Town Hall’s paralysation of the project for a park anda sport area on the land over the motorway in front of ElAlarife.- The completion and opening of the new road at the northarea.- Allegations to the General Urban Arrangement Plan(P.G.O.U.) of our municipality.- Irregularities of some developments as they are occupyingpublic roads making difficult the transit of residents, mainlyin calle Cristóbal Colón (Paseo de la Ermita).The Councillorhas confirmed that they would take the necessarymeasures to improve this situation. In any case, we willkeep an eye on these matters and we will not doubt in doingeverything that is in our hand to avoid or correct theseabuses.

We agreed to hold a meeting with the municipal architect tosolve the points that fall to the urban department. Thismeeting was held in the middle of January and he pointedout that with respect to the land over the tunnel, we had toask for authorisation from the motorway concessionaire.Once we managed to obtain this authorisation the TownHall would support the proposal presented by the EUC Sitiode Calahonda in which there would be an area full of plantssimilar to that at the other side of calle José de Orbanejaand a sport area with a jogging area.With respect to the new road he told us that he would speakwith the Councillor of Urban Developments to try to find asolution for the completion of the same and open it officially.We have also held meetings on several occasions with Mr.Francisco Marín, Councillor of the Operative Services. TheTown Hall shares our concern about the state of thesewerage mains that run down the ravine that divides Sitiode Calahonda with Calypso. We exposed an acceptablesolution and now the definite solution is left in the TownHall’s hands, the technical office of Engineering and thecouncillor himself. There is a developer who is willing toexpand and change this part of sewerage mains increasingthe width of the same to double the size if he could connecthis development to our sewerage mains. 4.- Proceed with the contracting by the procedure of the negotiating process previously announcing the bidding summons in Official Bulletins as well as the announcement of the commencement of said procedure in two provincial newspapers and two national newspapers.

5.- Request the technical department of the E.U.C. together with the committee in charge of water, to prepare a report regarding the valuation criteria that are proposed in a descending order of importance in order to be presented for approval at the next meeting of the Board of Directors of the Entity.

6.- Request the legal advisors of the E.U.C. to set out the contracting procedure rules for awarding the new water contract for its approval at the next meeting of the Board of Directors of the Entity.

7.- Specifically authorise the president of the entity to carry out the technical, administrative and legal consultations she considers necessary for the resolution of the doubts that could arise during the transaction of the awarding procedure.

Following this procedure, we have presented a letter to the water company informing them of the decision of not automatically renewing the contract. The Board of Directors have approved the regulations that specify the steps to be taken to contact the water supply.

5.- Solicitar al Departamento Técnico de la EUC con-juntamente con el comité encargado del agua, la elabo-ración de un informe relativo a los criterios de valoración que se proponen en orden decreciente de importancia a fin de ser presentados para su aprobación en la próxima sesión de la Junta Directiva de la Entidad.

6.- Solicitar a la Asesoría Jurídica de la EUC la elabo-ración del reglamento de procedimiento de contratación para la adjudicación del nuevo contrato de gestión de agua para su aprobación en la próxima sesión de la Jun-ta Directiva de la Entidad.

7.- Facultar expresamente a la Presidenta de la entidad a fin de realizar las consultas técnicas, administrativas o jurídicas que estime convenientes para la resolución de las dudas que pudieran surgir durante la tramitación del procedimiento de adjudicación.”.

Siguiendo con este procedimiento, se ha presentado ya un escrito en las oficinas de la empresa de agua in-formándole de la decisión de no renovar tácitamente el contrato. La Junta Directiva aprobó el reglamento que especifica los pasos a seguir para contratar el suministro de agua.

En general debemos considerar que la E.U.C. Sitio de Calahonda está muy bien gestionada y las cifras de los últimos años nos avalan. Esto no significa que no haya problemas o retos que solucionar y para ello debemos de trabajar todos juntos. Si observamos el gráfico de co-bros de un semestre (cuadro) podemos ver como existe un patrón en los porcentajes de cobro de cada mes. El análisis de este gráfico nos indica cómo gracias a las ordenes bancarias hace que la mayoría de los cobros se realicen en el primer mes de emisión de cuotas (Ene-ro y Julio), esta cifra ronda normalmente el 35% de las cuotas. Después de este primer mes los porcentajes de cobros van disminuyendo hasta finalizar el mes 4 (Abril y Octubre) y luego sube en los dos últimos meses para evitar el recargo del 20%. Al final de cada periodo se alcanza una cifra que pue-de rondar el 90% de las cuotas lo que no está nada mal para una comunidad del tamaño de la nuestra. El resto de cuotas que no han sido pagadas se lle-van a al Asamblea Gene-ral para que se apruebe el inicio de acciones judicia-les que al final terminan en sentencias favorables a la E.U.C. pero que con-llevan un retraso en el co-bro y unos gastos judicia-les que normalmente son abonados por el deudor.

El reto que tenemos en nuestras manos es tratar de que se abone el máxi-mo porcentaje de cobros posible en el plazo mas breve posible, las condiciones ideales serían que todos los propietarios domiciliaran sus pagos y de esta forma todo se cobraba a principio de cada semestre, sin embargo, este no es el caso y por tanto de-bemos dirigir nuestros esfuerzos en este camino.

El hecho de que se cobre tarde supone un grave proble-ma para operativa de la E.U.C. en el sentido que no po-demos llevar a cabo todos nuestros objetivos marcados durante el año en el momento que se desee sino que van realizándose en función de los cobros que se vayan obteniendo. Además el retraso en el cobro de las cuotas supone un aumento de trabajo para el personal de la ofi-cina que constantemente debe de esforzarse en pegar en la puerta de aquellos que no pagan a tiempo.

Por último indicar que es posible cambiar este sistema pero para ello es necesario cambiar los estatutos de la E.U.C. y para ello es necesario que la Asamblea General lo apruebe. La Junta Directiva deberá estudiar diferen-tes opciones y ver la posibilidad de buscar un sistema mejor.

In general, we must consider that the E.U.C. Sitio de Calahonda is very well managed and the figures of recent years show that. This does not mean that there are no problems or challenges to solve and therefore we must work together. If we look at the chart below showing the collection of fees we can see the collection percentage of each month. The analysis of this chart indicates that thanks to the standing orders most of the collection is carried out during the first month the fees are issued (January and July), this figure is normally about 35% of the fees. After this first month the receipt of money goes down until towards the end of the six month period where we have increased payments again. The reason for the increase is that unless it is paid within the six month

period there is a surcharge of 20 %. Normally we receive around 90% of the fees which is not bad considering the size of our urbanisation. What has not been collected during that period will be brought to the next AGM for approval for legal procedures which end up in favourable sentences for the E.U.C. but also signify a delay in the payment and legal costs that are normally paid for by the debtor.

The challenge that we have to handle is trying to get the maximum percentage of collection in the least time possible. The ideal conditions

would be that all owners made a standing order and this way collect the fees at the beginning of each semester, nevertheless, this is not the case and therefore we have to aim our efforts this way.

The fact that the collection of fees is later presents a big problem to the performance of the E.U.C. in the sense that we cannot carry out all our objectives established for the year at the time we would like to because we have to carry out the works according to the fees collected at the time. Also the delay in paying community fees gives more work to the personnel of the office who have to constantly remind those who do not usually pay on time.

Lastly, it is possible to change this system although it would be necessary to change the Statutes of the E.U.C. and therefore it would require the approval at a General Meeting. The Board of Directors will study different options and see the possibility of finding a better system.

MEDIO AMBIENTE

El verano, y como es natural la carencia de agua, nos ha dejado una gran cantidad de zonas verdes muy secas y por tanto hemos dedicado grandes esfuerzos a la limpieza de las mismas para evitar en lo posible el riesgo de incendios. Por otro lado la recogida de basura de jardín se ha realizado regularmente, de tal forma que apenas se han acumulado restos de podas en las calles. Igualmente se han reforzado los servicios operativos para que se pudiese llevar a cabo una limpieza periódica de las calles y así evitar la acumulación de suciedad en la época de verano y tratar de que la urbanización presente un buen aspecto durante estas fechas de mayor afluencia de personas.


PETANCA

El Club de petanca de Calahonda con sede en el parque infantilde Av. de España ha cosechado este año numerosas victorias. Enlos campeonatos provinciales, se ha quedado primeros en todoslos torneos obteniendo por tanto el título de campeonesprovinciales. Se han ganado varios torneos de la liga andaluzaquedando campeones de dicha liga en la modalidad de dupletasy subcampeones en la modalidad de tripletas. Han participado encinco campeonatos de España quedando subcampeones deEspaña empatados a puntos con el campeón, el equipo deFuenlabrada.

Debemos agradecer a su presidente D. José Portáz el esfuerzorealizado por este Club así como felicitarles por los éxitosconseguidos.

FRENCH BOWLS

The French bowl club of Calahonda at the children’s park in Avda.de España has gathered many victories.Several tournaments of the Andalucian league have been won,first place in the “dupletas” modality and second place in the“tripletas” modality. They have participated in five nationalchampionships reaching the runner-ups with the same points asthe champions, a team from Fuenlabrada.We must thank their President, Mr. José Portaz for the effortcarried out for this club and congratulate them for the successobtained.

Se ha preparado el calendario de obras para el año2006 donde se prevé terminar con el asfaltado de losviales de la urbanización (únicamente queda la zonaNorte de la urbanización). Este año vamos a tratarde adelantar estas obras de asfaltado al mes deFebrero para completar el trazado del nuevo vial conla zona Norte de la urbanización y la calle Torcaldonde existe ya un gran volumen de viviendasterminadas. Por otro lado se ha previsto llevar a cabotramos de aceras en las calle Málaga, Córdoba,Andalucía, Granada, Av. Jardines, Montecalahonda,Cipreses, etc..,) También se va a proceder a lainstalación de la iluminación en la calle CristóbalColón, una vez que las promociones vayanfinalizando así como a la mejora de la iluminación enel último tramo de la Av. de España Oeste. Ademásde todo esto se va a proceder a realizar las mejorasnecesarias para las medidas de seguridad señaladasdentro del capitulo de la seguridad.

INFRAESTRUCTURAS INFRASTRUCTURES

The work calendar for the year 2006 has beenprepared. The asphalting of the roads of theurbanisation will be finished (only the North area ofthe urbanisation is left to do). This year we are goingto try to put forward these works and asphalt inFebruary in order to complete the part of road thatconnects the new road at the North area of theurbanisation with calle Torcal where there is a greatamount of dwellings finished. Also several parts ofpavement in calle Málaga, Córdoba, Andalucía,Granada,Av. Jardines, Montecalahonda, Cipreses,etc. is going to be carried out. Rain is designing the new web page for the EUC Sitio de Calahonda.

This month a contract has been signed in which Rain will design the new web page for the EUC Sitio de Calahonda, the office in charge of administrating the remarkable urbanisation Sitio de Calahonda. The works, that are very advanced, will be completed by mid September for the Spanish version, and the English version some weeks later. The web site will be a powerful tool to keep all the owners and residents informed. “We are preparing a very lively web”, said the commercial director Desiré Pérez. “We have a Contents Assistance that will enable us to give news and keep all the sections such as the Journal, the minutes, etc. up to date. We are also including the API of google maps to mark all the places of interest in the urbanisation: Tennis club, Golf Course, Shopping centres … All these areas will have their own attached file with photographs that have been made for the re-designing of the web”.

Este mes se ha firmado el contrato mediante el cual, Rain Central (partner tecnológico de marbella.com), se encargará de rediseñar la página web de la E.U.C. Cal-ahonda. Los trabajos, actualmente en avanzado proce-so de gestación, culminarán a mediados de Septiembre para la versión española, seguidos por la versión inglesa en sucesivas semanas. La web proporcionará a la ur-banización una poderosa herramienta mediante la cual podrá mantener informados a los propietarios y residen-tes en todo momento. “Estamos preparando una web muy viva”, comentó la Directora Comercial Desirée Pé-rez. “Tenemos un Asistente de Contenidos que permitirá servir noticias, así como mantener actualizadas todas las secciones como La Revista, las Actas, y un largo etcé-tera. También estamos implementado el API de Google Maps para marcar todos los puntos de interés de la ur-banización: el club de Tenis, el Campo de Golf, los Cen-tros Comerciales… Todas estas áreas tendrán su propia ficha aderezados con fotografías que se han realizado con motivo del rediseño web”.


MIJAS ELECTRONIC MANAGEMENT OF PAYMENTS

Según hemos podido leer en el Diario sur, el Ayuntamiento de Mijas y Unicaja firmarán un con-venio de colaboración con el que se avanzará en los servicios de gestión electrónica de pagos del Portal del Ciudadano de Mijas Digital.

Los vecinos podrán pagar los impuestos y tasas municipales a través de Internet, con comodidad y total seguridad. También se abren otras posibilida-des, como abonar a través de la red el alquiler de una instalación deportiva o participar en los cursos y talleres de la Universidad Popular. Esto supon-dría una comodidad al no tener que desplazarse a las oficinas municipales y no tener que ajustarse a un horario de ventanilla del ayuntamiento o de cualquier entidad bancaria.

We have read in the Sur that Mijas Town Hall and Unicaja have signed a cooperation agreement for the electronic management service for payments within the Mijas Digital site.

Neighbours will be able to pay their municipal taxes through Internet, easy and safe. Other pos-sibilities are also available such as being able to pay the rent of sports equipment or participate in the courses of the Open University.

Tanto el ayuntamiento como la Junta de Andalu-cía ofrecen a los pensionistas unas tarjetas con las que obtener grandes beneficios y descuentos en viajes, gafas, audífonos, actividades organizadas por nuestro ayuntamiento (deportes, comidas, ex-cursiones)…

Para poder obtener estos beneficios es impres-cindible estar empadronado. Si se trata de la tarjeta que ofrece el ayuntamiento hay que llevar al depar-tamento de servicios sociales del ayuntamiento o al departamento de extranjeros la siguiente docu-mentación:

La tarjeta que expide el Gobierno Andaluz tam-bién se gestiona a través de los mismos departa-mentos del ayuntamiento, pero la documentación es enviada a Sevilla al Gobierno Autónomo donde se emiten las tarjetas y luego se envían directamen-te al interesado. Para obtener esta tarjeta deben ser mayores de 65 años y presentar la siguiente documentación:

Do you know the advantages of having a pensioner card?

Both Mijas Town Hall and the Junta de Andalucía offer pensioners a card with which you can obtain many benefits and discounts on public transport, trips, glasses, hearing aids, etc. You will get discounts on the sports activities at the Municipal Sports Centre, you will also receive discounts on the classes organised by the Open University of Mijas, you can enjoy a free dinner at Christmas, and once you have been registered for more than two years and if your pension does not exceed the limit established, you will be able to join the yearly excursion that is organised free of charge. To do so you have to first register on the Inhabitants List (padron) of the Town Hall taking a copy of your rates receipt in your name (or title deeds of the property), NIE number / residence card or passport. You have to reside in Mijas for a minimum of 6 months. Once you have done this you can proceed to apply for the Pensioners Cards. There are two different types; the one mentioned above is issued by the third age department of the Town Hall and another that is issued by the Andalucian Government.

To obtain the first local Card you have to take the following documentation to the Town Hall Social Services Office closest to your home or to the Mijas Foreign Residents Department:

- 2 passport size photos- Certificate of Registration (padron)- Residence Card- Proof of Pension- Rates receipt in your name.

The second card is also applied for at the Social Services Offices or Foreigners Department, but the documentation is sent to Seville to the Autonomous Government where the cards are issued and then sent directly to the owners. To obtain the card you have to be over the age of 65 and present the following documentation:

- 1 passport size photo.- Residence Card and copy.- Certificate of Registration (padron)If you have not got these cards and you qualify to have
