    Summary & Overview

    TORAH

    • Leviticus 25:1 | The Sabbatical Year• Leviticus 25:8 | The Year of Jubilee• Leviticus 26:1 | Rewards for Obedience

This week’s Torah Portion is all about the benefits of the Promised Land where

Israel experienced Rest, Freedom, and Blessings. These themes are a flow onand continuation of the Marriage Covenant that started in Egypt, being set freeas slaves, and ends within the Promised Land, the Kingdom of YHVH. Last timewe looked at maintaining the Lampstand inside the House of YHVH and whatpart we have to play in providing the oil to keep the Spirit of YHVH present inour midst. This week we will look at the next stages of the Hebrew Marriage andhow it links up with the Sabbath, Shavuot and the Year of Jubilee.

The former Torah Portions stars of by YHVH speaking to Moses. This TorahPortion is different where it starts off by saying; YHVH spoke to Moses on theMountain. “Har ” means mountain or a high place and a mountain usually

represents a unique connection with YHVH and wherever you read; “he went upa mountain” in Scripture, it symbolises the person entering the presence ofYHVH, ready to receive a Word from Him.

The previous time Moses went up the Mountain, YHVH gave Him the TenCommandments and the Instructions regarding the Tabernacle. The otherCommandments were given to him inside the Tabernacle and inside His tent. Itis if YHVH is using the Mountain to indicate the importance of someCommandments to others. It is as if YHVH calls Moses up the Mountain whenHe has something very important to say.

In the Previous Torah Portion, YHVH gave Moses the Commandments

regarding the Appointed Times, and the first Feast He mentioned was theSabbath, explaining the importance thereof. It is as if the Sabbath is the“building block” for the rest of the “ Moedim ” (Festivals). We looked at theFestivals about the Menorah Pattern and saw Shavuot, the Feast celebratingthe receiving of the Commandments on Mount Sinai, is represented on theMiddle Branch, making Shavuoth the pinnacle of all the Festivals.

This Torah Portion starts off with YHVH speaking to Moses on the Mountainagain, starting with the Sabbath, elaborating on its importance and why it is tobe kept. It is as if YHVH is underlining the importance of the Sabbath twice, first,by it mentioning it on the Mountain, and second, by using it as an openingstatement. The Sabbath was the first Commandment YHVH gave in the Gardenof Eden before the Commandant of the Two Trees.

It seems like YHVH is using the Sabbath as the opening statement beforeannouncing anything to His people. This proofs that the Sabbath is not only theFirst Commandment in Scripture but also the most important Commandment tokeep from YHVH’s point of view. We will now look at why the Sabbath is soimportant to YHVH.

We saw in Torah Portion Emor, the Commandant of the Sabbath preceding theMoedim (Feasts), and we saw Shavuot is the pinnacle of all the Feasts, that isconnected to the Mountain. In this week’s Torah Portion we see the Sabbath islinked to the mountain and precedes the Commandments regarding SabbaticalYears and Jubilee Years, that has to do with entering the Land of Promise. These commandments are given on the Mountain as well, making themimportant from YHVH’s point of view .

The Sabbath connects three physical places; the Garden of Eden, theMountain, and the Land of Promise or Kingdom of YHVH. This means that theSabbath is critical in getting you back into the pre- fallen “ Garden of Eden state ”

or the Land of Promise (New Jerusalem). The other interesting thing we see isthat all three these places represent man walking with YHVH in His presence.

It is not only the Sabbath-link that allows us to “connect with YHVH”, but theFestivals or Appointed Times fulfil the same function because of Shavuot andits connection to the Mountain, the place on Earth between Eden and the NewJerusalem.

Q – What makes the Sabbath and the Festivals so important?

This shows that the Sabbath and the Festivals are key to restore you back intothe Graden of Eden or New Jerusalem. Previously, we elaborated on the Feastsand how they represent the Work of the Messiah and that this Work is requiredto take His people to the Promised Land. The Work of the Bride is to guard and

keep these Moedim so that She can be ready, waiting with the lampstand in Hewindow for Her Groom to come, to fulfil the final part of the Marriage Covenant.

We have touched on how the Feasts are unique times appointed when YHVHspeaks “creative words” ( emor) over you, but there is something even moreprofound. These three places, the Garden, the Mountain and the PromisedLand have to do with restoring the Connection we lost with YHVH, to re-connectus back to His Presence so that we can hear His Voice again and “walk withHim”.

The Sabbath is found in the Garden, the Mountain, the Promised Land as wellas in the Festivals. This makes the Sabbath and the Festivals the “connecting

force” or means to open the door to “the other side ,” where YHVH exists.Y’shua is “the Way” that leads to the Father, and He does His work in us on theSabbath and the Festivals.

Both the Sabbath and the Feasts exist in time, and we are created “under time ”,moving through time towards eternal life where time does not exist or does notmatter . YHVH gave us the means to break through this “time barrier” throughparticipating in His Appointed Times, the times where you can “break the fabric”between the physical and spiritual and “cross over” to connect with YHVHdirectly, worshipping Him in Spirit and Truth. If you do not acknowledge thesetimes or aware of their significance, you will not have a proper re-connectioninto YHVH’s Presence. It is not to say that you cannot experience Him any otherday, it is just that these days are designed to allow us to meet with our Father ina more special way. We will now look at the most important Appointed Time, namely the Sabbath.

    The Sabbath

"Sabbath" is the Hebrew word t b s - "Shin – Bet - Tav," that means: to rest, to sit still, the seatof authority, dwelling place .

Looking at the first two letters; b s , we get theword "Sheba" that means: seven, an oath, promise.

Spiritual Application : The Sabbath is a “Seat of Authority” in your life, t he “Seat”you allow YHVH to sit, so that He can rule as King over your life. The Sabbath isan oath between us and YHVH that releases His promises if we follow andacknowledge His day of rest.

Messiah working on the SabbathThere are numerous examples in the NewTestament where Y ’shua “worked” on theShabbat, the question is; did He break theLaw concerning the Shabbat and is thisan example of Him teaching us to breakthe Torah? The answer is no; He nevertaught anyone to break the Torah anddoing “mitzvots ” or good deeds on theSabbath is permitted in the Torah. All Heever broke was the “man made laws” that

the Pharisees made to fence in theSabbath and kept the people frombreaking it. There are over 1800 laws or “fences” regarding the Sabbath accordingto the Pharisees but only a few explaining the Sabbath in the Torah. To explain the“work, ” He did we have to go to the Book of John and study one of these exampleswhere He “broke” the Sabbath. This will clear up all misunderstanding andmisperceptions reg arding Y’shua breaking the Torah, specifically the SabbathCommandment.

Example: A Man was lying at the pool of Bethesda (pool of kindness), andthere was no one available to carry him into the water after it moved. He was inthis ill state for thirty-eight years. When he saw Y’shua , he asked Him to helphim into the pool after the water moved. Y’shua responded by instructing him totake up his bed and walk.

    4/12

    4

Spiritual Application : When you have a problem, you typically ask YHVHto “move” you, but He actually wants you to stand up and walk in faith, doing something.

What is interesting is that the Oral Law had 39 precepts c oncerning “work onthe Sabbath,” explaining 39 categories of things that are not permitted on the

Sabbath and one of them, the last one listed, was the one Y’shua told the manto do, breaking commandment number 39. This number associate with the manbecause it was his 39 th year of illness, and Y’shua told him to break the 39 th lawof the Pharisees.

These 39 precepts were made up by the work that is required to construct theTabernacle . The last “work” (no# 39) was forbidding someone to takesomething and carry it to a different location. When the Pharisees confrontedY’shua , He told them that His Father is working up to now, and so is He. Thiswas like fat on the fire, and they wanted to stone Him. Did Y’shua break theTorah? No, He broke “man -made traditions, ” not the Sabbath.

Spiritual Application : In the physical, Y’shua asked the man to carry hisbed, but in the spiritual, Y’shua took the man’s infirmity andtransferred it away from him to another location, and in return,“moved health ,” from this place, back to the man. When you stopwork and enter His Rest on a Sabbath, you enable YHVH and giveHim time to work in your life, constructing yourTabernacle within you. This time is set apart for youand YHVH, and why it is so important for you to“rest” on this “restoration -day ,” so that He can dowork in you, taking things away, moving them far

away to another place, so that He can replace it withHis new things, that will enable you to be Like Himand “walk with Him.”

Counting of the Days, Weeks and Years Lev 25:8-9 ‘And you shall count seven sabbaths of years for yourself, seven times seven years; and the time of the seven sabbaths of years shallbe to you forty-nine years. 9 Then you shall cause the trumpet of the Jubilee to sound on the tenth day of the seventh month; on the Day of Atonement, you shall make the trumpet to sound throughout all your

land. Lev 23: 15-16 ‘And you shall count for yourselves from the day after the Sabbath, from the day that you brought the sheaf of the wave offering:seven Sabbaths shall be completed. 16 Count fifty days to the day after theseventh Sabbath; then you shall offer a new grain offering to YHVH.

Two things stand out from these passages; both Shavuot (Pentecost) andJubilee are determined by counting of seven Sabbaths, one is determined bycounting seven weekly Sabbaths (Shavuot), or 49 says, the other is determinedby counting Sabbatical years, counting of seven times seven years, or 49 years.

The seven-day cycle pattern applies when calculating seven Thousand Yearperiods as well, to determine the Seventh Millennium, the time when Messiahwill return.

Millennial Sabbath – Preparation for the Bride: One day is as a thousandyears, and a thousand years is as one day unto YHVH.Y’shua stated that He is Master of the Sabbath; He isthe Owner and the creator of the Sabbath, and it hasprophetic significance to those who keep it. TheSabbath is a picture of the Great Sabbath, theThousand Years of Peace, that is to come. This iswhen the final stage of the Marriage Festival will takeplace. This is the Rest that we will enter as the Bridethat we will celebrate for a thousand years with Him.

Heb 4:3,11 For we who have believed do enter into the rest, as He said, "Ihave sworn in My wrath that they should not enter into My rest;" althoughthe works were finished from the foundation of the world. (11) Let us,therefore, do our utmost to enter into that rest, lest anyone fall after the sameexample of disobedience.

YHVH created everything in six days, with man created on the sixth day, andstopped from His Work on the Seventy day. We as humanity takes six thousandyears to “ create ”, and after our completion into His Likeness, we will enter intothat Seventh Day of Rest with Him.

We saw Sabbaths of Days, Sabbaths of Weeks, Sabbaths of years,Sabbaths of Sabbaths of years and Sabbaths of Millenia. TheseSabbaths are all Cycles that has something very profound becauseYHVH revealed these things to Moses on the Mountain. Thesecycles form “circle s ” that represents a “ ring ” that is put on the fingerof the Bride, as part of the Marriage Covenant between YHVH andHis people.

Spiritual Application: How would you feel if you are married, and yourpartner takes off their wedding ring when he/she goes out of the house todo something? You will feel dreadful because it will seem that your partnerdoes not want the world to know that he/she is in covenant with you. Youwill still be married, but you will not feel good about your relationship.Remember you entered the first stage of the Marriage Covenant atPassover, and according to the Hebrew Marriage Pattern, you areEngaged and should wear His ring to show that you are set apart for Him.The Appointed Times ar e the “cycles” that make up a beautiful “ring” onyour hand, to show the world you are Engaged to be Married to Y’shua,

awaiting the final part of your Marriage. That is why YHVH takes theSabbath very seriously because it is a sign between Him and us, which weare set apart unto Him, a sign to the world that we are engaged to Him.

The Sabbath, a Wedding Gift: The Torahgives the word Sabbath (Shabbat) a femalegender. Within the Jewish community, Sabbathis called, “the Queen of Days.” It has the femalegender because it symbolises the bride of theMessiah. All the Feasts and the Sabbath arewedding gifts from Y’shua to His Bride that Shecan enjoy before He returns for Her.

As you open up the gift of the Sabbath every week, you are reminded ofHim, His love and compassion towards you and the rest He prepared sothat you can spend time with Him. He is with you in Spirit, and you canhave fellowship with Him on these set-apart days.

We acknowledge the Sabbath as a weekly reminder that we as the Bride of

Messiah need to be ready for His Coming. As the sun sets every Friday, all yourpreparation work should be done, and you need to be ready before the Sabbathstarts. This will allow you to practice to “be prepared” on a weekly basis. Timedoes not determine when the Sabbath begins, for example, starting at 7 PM everyFriday evening. No, it is the sun that determines when the new day starts, everytime the sun sets and darkness covers the earth, that is when the Sabbath begins. In the same way, will “darkness ” cover the earth in the form of the Tribulationbefore the 7 th Millennial Sabbath begins.

The Connection between Shavuot (Pentecost) and

Jubi lee (Day of Atonement)The Sabbath is determined by the counting of days, Shavuot is determined bythe counting of weeks and the Shmittah or Sabbatical year is calculated by thecounting of years, and the Jubilee is determined by the counting of Sabbaticalyears, similar to the counting of “weeks.” This makes Shavuot similar to Jubileein the way they are determined, and we will now look at these two Feasts abouteach other to gain wisdom regarding these times.

Shavuot is the Feast that Celebrates the receiving of the Torah on Mount Sinaiand was fulfilled by YHVH’s Spirit that was poured out on His people in the

“upper room” during this celebration. The connection was made propheticallybetween the Torah and YHVH’s Spi rit as confirmed in these passages:

Jer 31:33 But this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, says YHVH: I will put My Torah in their minds, and write it on their hearts, and I will be their Elohim, and they shall be My people.

Heb 8:10 For this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, says YHVH: I will put My laws in their mindand write them on their hearts, and I will be their Elohim, and they shallbe My people.

Shavuot is determined by the counting of seven weeks or Sabbath’s and fallsthe day after the seventh Sabbath. Seventh is the Hebrew word “ shevi-e ” thatcomes from the word “ shevi-em ” that means seventy. It is first used in Scripturein Gen 4:24 where Lamech, the 6 th generation descendant of Cain, killedsomeone by accident (some say it is his son Tubalcain, skilled in creating arteffects and weapons in brass and iron). Lamech said that Cain was avengedseven times if someone killed him, but he would be avenged seventy timesseven (490). Is this related to the counting of seven seven-year periods thatequals 49 years (Jubilee)? The answer is yes because every Hebrew number inmultiples of ten, is seen is linked together and has the same meaning. For

example; 1 has the same meaning as 10, 100 and 1000. In the same way is 49the same as 490, linking these two thoughts.

  • 8/16/2019 Parashah 32 B'Har

    7/12

    7

Spiritual Application : The second sin that was committed after the fall of Adam, was when Cain murdered his brother Abel. YHVH placed a “mark”on Cain to show everyone that Cain was not to be touched or killed byman for the sin he committed , making this “mark” a “covering” over Cainthat preserved him.

Q – What is the significance of this “mark” YHVH placed on Cain? The answer is found in this passage where Lamech will be avenged, 490times. This shows that Lamech wa s “covered” for the sin he committed,

just like Cain, until the time associated with 490 or 49, the time of Jubilee, when all debts are cancelled. Jubilee is the time where all slaves are setfree, all debt are cancelled, and everyone who lost their land could receiveit back, free from any obligation, even if you lost it through your own wrongdoing.

The same mark that was on Cain also came on Lamech, six generationsafter, making Lamech the seventh generation from Cain. We live in thesixth Millennium and will enter the time of Jubilee on the starting of theseventh Millennium, and we have a “mark” that covers us until that time.

Mark is the word “ oth ” t va that is a spelt “Aleph -Vav- Tav” and containsthe symbol of Messiah, the Aleph-Tav, with the symbol of man, the “Vav ,”in the middle. Y’shua became the Redeemer Whose Blood would providea covering for mankind, until the time of Yom Kippur, on a Jubilee cycle, toset everyone free from sin, guilt, and shame. This mark or sign isassociated with the “signs in time ”, called the Appointed Times, of whichthe Sabbath is the main “mark” that is upon believers that follow Him. This

“mark” will preserve and cover you, until that last Yom Kippur, that finalJubilee year, when Messiah Y’shua will return for His Bride .

Lamech’s number 490 is also associated with Shavuot, the time when theBride engages into the second part of the Marriage Covenant, making Hervows to the Groom. This “time ” (counting 49), is the time of establishingthe Covenant and is associated with the time of Yom Kippur and with thetime of Jubilee (counting 49), that aligns with the final part of the MarriageCovenant at Y’shua’s Second Coming. All these “times” synchronise andaligns, to create this Great and Final Day where Man or Adam will beRestored back to the Garden, starting the 1000 year Sabbath.

Shavuot and the Marriage CovenantThe Ketubah is Hebrew for a marriage contract andhas been a tradition since Mt. Sinai and the givingof Torah. The intent of this tradition is powerful anduniversal. The word "Ketubah" comes from the rootKaf-Tav-Bet, meaning writing that relates to the“writing of the Covenant” or the Torah. The ketubahis the marriage contract between a man andwoman. The ketubah spells out the husband's

obligations to the wife during marriage and is abinding document of confidence, trust, conditionsof inheritance, and requirements regarding the support of children.

This Marriage Covenant or Ketubah is revealed in the Book of Jeremiah andstarted with the first part of the Marriage when Israel left Egypt, on the Feast ofPassover.

Jer 31:31-33 Behold, the days are coming, says YHVH, when I willmake a new Covenant with the house of Israel and with the house of

Judah — 32 not according to the Covenant that I made with their fathers inthe day that I took them by the hand to lead them out of the land of Egypt, My Covenant which they broke, though I was a husband to them, saysYHVH. 33 But this is the Covenant that I will make with the house of Israelafter those days, says YHVH: I will put My law in their minds, and writeit on their hearts, and I will be their God, and they shall be My people.

The Marriage Covenant is established through vows made by both the Groomand the Bride. The first set of vows is found in Exo 6 where YHVH gave Hispromises to His Bride and is represented by the themes of the Four Cups that istaken during the Passover Covenant Meal.

Exodus 6:6-7 Say, therefore, to the sons of Israel, ‘I am YHVH, and Iwill bring you out from under the burdens of the Egyptians, and I willdeliver you from their bondage. I will also redeem yo u with anoutstretched arm and with great judgments. ‘Then I will take you for My people, and I will be your God; and you shall know that I am YHVHyour Elohim, who brought you out from under the burdens of the Egyptians.

    1. “ I will take you out …" Remove you from being a slave fromunder the authority of Satan.

    2. " I will save you …" Take away your fallen leprous state and

fallen nature through the Sacrifice of the Lamb of YHVH that wasslain on Passover.3. "I will r edeem you …" Prepare you as the Bride, taking you

through a cleansing process to be presentable before the King.4. "I will take you …" – Allow you to enter into the Kingdom of

YHVH and live with Him forever after His Restoration Process iscomplete.

The second part of the Marriage isconcluded with the Bride giving Her vowsto the Groom on Mount Sinai through theTen Words or Ten Commandments.

Exodus 19:18-19 And it came to pass on the third day in themorning, that there were thundersand lightning, and a thick cloudupon the mount, and the sound of ashofar exceedingly loud; so that allthe people who were in the camptrembled. And Moses brought forth the people out of the camp to meetwith Elohim.

The ancient Rabbis teach that YHVH reached out from the heavenly at Mt. Sinaiand kissed the face of Israel under His Chuppa (marriage canopy) which is what

the thick cloud is hovering over Mt. Sinai represented. The marriage canopy orChuppa is where under Jewish people get in a traditional Jewish wedding. TheChuppa symbolises YHVH ’s covenants, promises, and covering. The TenCommandments are our promises to YHVH that establishes this MarriageCovenant between us and Him, the written Contract, or Ketubah.

We read in Jer 31:33 “ But this is the Covenant that I will make with the houseof Israel after those days, says YHVH: I will put My Torah in their minds, andwrite it on their hearts …” This is the fulfilment of the Feast of Shavuot, whereYHVH give us His Spirit as a sign of accepting our vows as His Bride, sealingthis Contract with His Engagement Ring, His Holy Spirit.

The final part of the wedding will take place at His Second Coming whereY’shua will come and gather His Bride to live with Him forever in the House Heprepared for us.

John 14:1-4 Let not your heart be troubled; you believe in Elohim, alsobelieve in Me. 2 In My Father’s house are many mansions; if itwere not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. 3 Andif I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself; that where I am, there you may be also. 4 And where I go youknow, and the way you know.

This “gathering” will happen in line with the Fall Festivals that starts withTrumpets (Yom Teruah - Rapture), then Yom Kippur (Jubilee – Judgement Day)and after that we will live with Him as represented by Sukkot (Tabernacles) inthe New Jerusalem. [1 John 3:2]

Sabbatical Year or Shemitah YearThe Shemitah and Jubilee Commandments relates to the Land and only cameinto play after they entered Canaan. These Commandments placed restrictionson the Land, proving YHVH as the Owner. This is one of the main principles ofReal Estate Law where the owner can place restrictions on the property or landbecause he/she is the owner. YHVH placed the first restriction on “Time ,” whenHe established the Sabbath. This proofs that He is the owner of all “Times andSeasons” or Appointed Times. The following restriction was placed on theGarden of Eden through the Commandment regarding the Two Trees. Thisproofs that YHVH is the Owner of the Garden. In the same way, YHVH placedrestrictions on the Promised Land, linking the Garden of Eden to the Promised

Land, proving that YHVH ’s Plan is to restore His Creation back to the “Gardenof Eden state. ” YHVH’s Ownership of the Promised Land is confirmed throughboth types of restrictions, namely “Time” and “the Land,” that has to do withSabbath Cycles and harvesting food. These two correlated with the first tworestrictions YHVH placed on “ Times, ” the Sabbath and on “the Land ,” harvesting food from the trees” in the Garden.

As soon as the Israelites settled in the Promised Land, they began to count andobserve seven-year cycles. Every cycle would culminate in a Sabbatical year, known as Shemitah, that means : “to release.”

These periods are significant as seen in historical events that happened aroundthe ending or beginning of these seven-year cycles. The Second

Holy Temple was destroyed at the end of such a period and the years after thatproofs the significance of these Cycles:

    • 1917 - America rises to power ending World War I as well as the rising ofthe Communist State of the Soviet Union. The defeat of Germany andthe fall of the Czar of Russia, the fall the Austrian-Hungarian Empire and

the fall of the Turkish-Ottoman Empire.• 1938 - German Nazis attack Jewish businesses and burn Jewish

Synagogues on Kristallnacht (the Night of Broken Glass.)• 1945 - Nazi Germany is defeated. The Atomic bomb is dropped on Japan

that ended World War II. Japan signs peace treaty the same week of theend of the Shemitah year. The United States becomes a militarysuperpower. The U.S. dollar becomes the world standard currency.

    • 1973 - The United States Supreme Court declares that America’s can killtheir unborn babies. The World Trade Center is completed which is asymbol of America’s economic strength. America loses its first war toVietnam. Nixon takes America off the Gold standard. This sets in motionthe decline of the U.S. dollar.

    • 1980 - The U.S. Supreme Court bans the posting of the TenCommandments in Public Schools. Thus God is now completely bannedfrom our public schools in America.

    • 2001 - The World Trade Center buildings (the symbols of America’seconomic strength) are destroyed by a terrorist attack. One week laterWall Street has one of its greatest collapses on the last day of theShemitah Year.

    • 2008 - Exactly seven years later, Wall Street suffers its largest decline. America is now the world’s biggest debtor nation.

2014-2015 - In Sept of 2014, we start a new Shemitah Year. Thishappens in connection with a Tetrad of 4 Blood Moons which all occur onBiblical feast days.

[All information on the effects of the Shemitah by Jonathan Cahn]

The Shemittah is like a smaller version of a Jubilee Year, a time of liberation, atime to release debts and a time for the land to rest. This aspect of Shemitahobservance is known as shemittat kesafim , “release of money [ debts ].” That isprobably why the world economics adhere to this cycle because it is a SpiritualLaw similar to the physical law of gravity, that you adhere to, whether you like itor not.

During the Shemittah year, the residents of the Land of Israel must completelycease from cultivating their fields. They also surrender personal ownership oftheir fields; whatever produce grows on its own is considered communalproperty, free for anyone to take. This aspect of the Shemitah year is knownas “shemittat karka ”, or “release of the land.”

    Jubilee Year

The Year of Jubilee is the Appointed Timethat coincides with Yom Kippur or Day of

    Atonement. Jubilee comes from the

Hebrew word "yobel" and refers to the blastof the shofar on the Day of Atonementannouncing the jubilee year.

Lev 25:9 Then you shall cause thetrumpet of the Jubilee to sound on thetenth day of the seventh month; onthe Day of Atonement you shall makethe trumpet to sound throughout allyour land.

The Year of Jubilee was to come into force after the Israelites took possession

of the Promised Land: " When ye come into the land which I give you. " [Lev29:2]. The Year of Jubilee is connected with the Sabbatical year and falls on theseventh Sabbatical year. For most people, this celebration occurred only oncein their lifetime, and for some not even that, as it occurred only once every 50years. During this year of Jubilee, all Israelites who had sold themselves intoslavery were set free, and all land that had been lost or sold was returned to itsoriginal owners. This meant that no Israelite could ever be in permanentslavery; nor could any Israelite permanently lose his /her inheritance.

We are currently in a Jubilee Year that started 14 Sept 2015 and will end Sept2016. Here are some interesting facts regarding the 2015-2016 Jubilee Year:

This year is the 40th Jubil ee since Y’shua’s Death and Ressurection : Thenumber 40 means “Work of the Messiah” and repeatedly occurs throughoutScripture. For example, it rained for 40 days and 40 nights, Moses was onMount Sinai for 40 days, Y’shua fasted in the desert for 40 days before He wastempted by Satan. After Y’shua’s Resurrection, He remained on the earth for40 days before He ascended to Heaven. The period of 40 in the Bibleis understood as a period of repentance and redemption for past sins. Willthis 40th Jubilee finalise the end time of repentance and redemption formankind, and usher in the start of a new era? Many believers feel somethingimportant is about to happen.

This year is the 70th Jubil ee since Joshua entered the Promised Land : Thenumbers seven and seventy both have special meanings in the Bible. YHVHcreated the Heavens and Earth and ceased from work on the seventh day. Thenumber seven is very significant and here are a few examples:

    • YHVH told the Children of Israel that if they did not keep the sabbaticalsand Jubilees, they would be taken out of their land so the land couldenjoy its Sabbath rest. Lev 26:27-35.

    • The Children of Israel neglected the sabbaticals and Jubilees for 430years. During this time, the land missed 70 Sabbath years. Eze 4:1-6.

    • The children of Israel were taken into captivity to Babylon for 70 years sothat the Land could rest. Jer 25:8-12, 2 Chr 26:21

  • 8/16/2019 Parashah 32 B'Har

    12/12

    12

    • If the Children of Israel returned to Israel on a Jubilee Year after their 70-year captivity in approx. 584 BCE that is 52 Jubilees ago, if 2016 is aJubilee year. (Interestingly, there are 52 weeks in a year)

    • Matt 18:22 Y’shua tells Peter to forgive not just seven times, but seventytimes seven. So seven and seventy have the Biblical meaning of perfectcompletion. Seventy "sevens" - 70 Sabbatical cycles – 70 x 7 = 490years that correlates with the sign of Lamech and the Jubilee year(counting 49). The fulfilment of the 70 Sabbaticals began in 457 BC andended 490 years later in 34 AD. Y’shua died in 31 AD in the middle of the70th Sabbatical cycle.

    • Seventy "sevens" - 70 Jubilee cycles – 70 x 7 x 7 +1 = 3,431 yearsSeventy "sevens" are decreed for YHVH’s people to put an end to sinand to bring in everlasting righteousness. This points to the time when

YHVH’s people will no longer tr ansgress His Torah. They will haveeverlasting righteousness brought into their lives, and they will never sinagain. The 70 Jubilees points to the possible season ofMessiah’s Second Coming. The fulfilment of the 70 Jubilees began in1416 BC when the Children of Israel entered Canaan. This time will end3,431 years later, in the Jubilee year of 2016 AD. Is this the starting ofthe time of the end or are we to wait for another Jubilee Cycle of 50 years(if we counted the Jubilee Cycle correctly in the first place)? No man willknow the exact time or hour, but we must be watchful of the Seasons or

    Appointed Times to be ready.

Cycles of 70 Unit of Time Total Years What happens at the End?

70 x 1 year 70 years 70 years Captivity ends from literal Babylon

    70 x 7 years 70 sabbaticals 490 years Time of Messiah's First Coming

    70 x 49 +1 years 70 Jubilees 3,431 years Possible Season of Messiah's SecondComing - Captivity ends fromspiritual Babylon

We see the correlation between the Sabbatical year and the Jubilee Year andthe consequences for breaking the Sabbath principle that ends up in exile andcaptivity. Breaking the Sabbath leads to captivity but the Jubilee is there to setyou free after the Appointed Time.

So this current 70th Jubilee Year is very significant to watch for the signs of thetimes and the fulfilment of Prophecy that will confirm whether this Jubilee Yearwill be the final one or the time YHVH is starting the last stage of HisRestoration Plan.
